This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 16th International Workshop on Implementation and Applications of Functional Languages, IFL 2004, held in Lubeck, Germany in September 2004.The 13 revised full papers presented went through two rounds of reviewing and improvement and were selected from an initial total of 40 workshop presentations.
