Michelle Godard-Richer is a multi-award-winning and Amazon bestselling author living in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. With her degree in Criminology, she writes edge-of-your-seat, suspenseful stories with strong protagonists and diabolical villains.
This is the second novella in the Jelly Beans series I read and I thought I wouldn't like it as much as the first one because of the 'here we go again' feeling you sometimes get when a tale is spun longer.
But I really liked it as much as I did the first one. If time-travel books with a dollop of romance in it is your thing, you should surely pick this one up!

Loved this story of Henrietta, a pioneering young doctor in 1932 who time travels to the future, whisked away by fate. She meets a handsome obstetrician who can save the life of her unborn nephew, if she can find a way to make it happen before it's too late.
Wonderful characters, a heartwarming story, suspense and romance. The perfect spring or summer read!
A nice light summery read! The blend of historical 1930’s/modern day made for a delightful story that swept me from one era to another seamlessly. Henrietta (I love that name!) and Joshua’s tale was heartwarming, and I enjoyed the mystery that brought them together. The secondary characters were perfect, and now I need to know where the magical box of jelly beans will appear next!

Most of the time, time travel goes back in time. But in Forward in Time With Jelly Beans, our heroine is thrust forward in time and sees first-hand what the future holds. I truly loved this story. It’s original and features a woman doctor ahead of her time. The world-building is creative yet realistic. The sweet romance will capture readers’ hearts. Plus, there’s a bit of suspense. Will Henrietta get back in time to save her nephew?
Wow, what a brilliant story. It took my breath away and stole my heart. The premise unfolds at a nice easy pace. The world-building is the framework of this story and it’s excellent. Michelle Godard-Richer creates two worlds that intersect thanks to a magical jelly bean box. The time travel is believable yet not too scientific. Terrific world-building.
For me, this book is all about Henrietta. She’s a fabulous heroine who’s smart, caring, and a talented doctor. She thinks fast on her feet and adjusts to modern times with ease. She deserves love yet is unsure when it stares her in the face.
The romance is wholesome and heartfelt. I enjoyed how it didn’t overtake the rest of the plot. It’s a bit of a slow-burn but fits for a time travel.
If you’re looking for a romance through time, pick up Forward in Time With Jelly Beans. Another gem written by Michelle Godard-Richer. I look forward to reading more from her.
Thoughts: This is the second in this series (See: Back in Time With Jelly Beans) and a perfect follow-up to that story. In this one, Henrietta is the main focus of the story as she jumps forward in time and meets doctor Joshua Bingham. Heart’s thump, but can these two from two different times find their way to their happily ever after?
What I liked: I enjoyed the family home still being in the family (and her clothes in the closet!) I loved the little girl letting things slip about the family secret (time travel). I loved the descriptions that put me in both times easily.
What I didn’t like: Nothing. I thought it was a cute story with a HEA ending that satisfies. And a great follow-up to the previous story (which you really need to read first in order to understand what’s going on in this one).
Recommendation: Definitely pick up – along with the first one. They’re both short, quick reads that will leave you smiling.

This is the story of one woman determined to save the life of her unborn nephew—the man who believes in her. This time-travel romance took me from early 1930s, the midst of the Great Depression, to the twenty-first century—and back. Henrietta Hinchliffe, a newly graduated medical doctor, is thrust a hundred years into the future. Once she hears her nephew died in childbirth, she knows she’s on a mission. Discover the cause, go back in time, and save his life. She enlists the help of a twenty-first century physician who believes her story and is as passionate about saving the life of the child as she is. The story is a romance, for sure, but it’s so much more. It’s a subtle commentary on the changing role of women in society over a hundred years as well as a reminder of the advances of science in that time period. Michelle Godard-Richer has created a well-written novella that reads like a larger work. She seamlessly and subtly weaves a story of time travel and suspense while delivering a satisfying happily-ever-after.
Henrietta Hinchcliffe has attained her dream of becoming a physician and is in practice with the new doctor in town Dr. Iain Carter so why does she feel like there has to be something more? When a soothsayer reminds her of her family's links to time travel she is soon whisked to the future where she learns she has to go back and save her unborn nephew, Paul. She enlists the aide of the heartthrob Dr. Joshua Bingham and something wonderful happens while they are focused on saving a child's life. This is a delightful quick read that builds on the earlier novel Back In Time With Jelly Beans. The author built a marvelous world where time travel harnesses the good and love in a strong and determined woman to create miracles. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed this imaginative and quick read. Time travel via jellybeans and magic makes for an interesting combination. I liked the heroine's determination to help save someone she loved. I would recommend this story.
