The general public holds computers and computer people as intrinsically clever and interesting. At no time should the public be given the slightest hint of the truth.
If you are looking for a guide book to help you understand how computers work then you should look elsewhere. If on the other hand you are looking for a quick read full of laughs, then this is the book for you. I had to keep putting this book down to wipe away the tears of laughter. I particularly enjoyed the tip for people that cannot get their laptop working; the default configuration is for them to work on trains, so you should jiggle them about and make the noise of a train going over the points. The Bluffer’s Guides tend to be really funny books, and this is definitely my favourite so far.
