A sweet early reader featuring the characters from All Are Welcome. This rhyming book welcomes students back to school and shared lessons on conduct. These include trying new things, practicing kindness, helping others, and working together.
Lovely, diverse illustrations.
This Step 2 book includes basic vocabulary, short sentences, and a simple story for Reading With Help. Suggested for Preschool to Grade 1.
Overall, a nice read. The changing rhyme scheme threw me a little, but it was a sweet book.
I love the "All Are Welcome" picture book so I had to grab this off the shelf when I saw it at my local library. The illustrations are just like the other book and I appreciate the diversity shown. The words and theme of the book are also very similar to the picture book, but a little easier for early readers I imagine. This would be a perfect gift for a kid that loves the picture book, is returning to school after summer break, and learning to read. I just personally prefer the picture book, honestly.
Beginning reader Penfold returns to her All Are Welcome book by recapping everything these kids have learned as they start another school year. The simple to read text means lower to mid elementary readers can read this alone or to each other and share ways they have learned these lessons.
Alexander Penfold creates a Level 2 Step into Reading version of her trade book All Are Welcome which paints a multicultural picture of a welcoming back to school community. Very accessible for young readers.
