Happy Haven #3

Hide and Sneak

Rate this book
This is the year that all my hard work and saving is going to pay off. My goals are clear, to quit my job at the daycare center, start a business, and move out of Happy Haven Trailer Park, It isn't a bad place, and I love most of my crazy neighbors, but it was always meant to be a stepping stone.
I'm a woman with a plan. A plan that doesn't include living with my brother and his best friend, Sutton, but here we are. They need a place to stay for a few months, and I can't say no.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Sutton Yates is not one of my favorite people, and he wastes no time throwing my peaceful life into chaos. It's just my luck that his road construction job has him working the same hours that I do. I'm stuck with him every evening.
He's infuriating. He thinks he's hilarious and nothing entertains him more than getting under my skin.
In high school he was the troublemaker we all had a crush on, but at twenty-six years old, I know better than to be taken in by a few muscles and tattoos. He's insufferable, and I've matured.
So it would be great if I could stop ending up in his bed.

Lila and Sutton were the perfect couple to end the Happy Haven series with! These two had my laughing all the way through their story!

The growth these two have from the beginning of the book to the end makes for a phenomenal read!

Shade really is the only author that I can read Romance comedy from. She just gets it. I dont know if she has these hilarious characters stuffed in her brain or she's people watching some of the most entertaining folks around. She's a comedic gold writer!

She has done it again and taken us all back to the HA-HA Trailer Park… I for one has seriously considered moving to…. Yes, a trailer park, but read this book and I swear you will want to too. It isn’t the luxury kind either, but with the antics in this place you will not need any Netflix, there is a show every day sometimes even a few, and you will die laughing because sometimes it is just too unbelievable. Plus watching a hot, tattooed naked man jump out of a window and take refuge in your trailer doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend an evening either….

Honestly I laughed, and laughed some more, thought what the….. As well as fell for Lila’s brother’s, hot best friend. Who happens to also be her sworn enemy. This is the perfect falls for the guy she isn’t supposed to. Of course first before the falling she has the hottest anger bangers of all. I loved watching the antics Lila and Sutton will go to keep their hookup buddy status from coming out to everyone……maybe just coming out to Lila’s brother Amos. Also her side gig of feet and underwear modeling, is a secret you will also love seeing come to light. Along the way Lila and Sutton may find out they are completely wrong about each other and growing up has truly changed them both for the better. Don’t forget this amazing group of friends who has become what a true family is. We can’t pick our family they say but this group, who most have been given the raw end of the stick when it comes to blood relatives, has built their own amazing tight family. The other residents are like that Uncle, Aunt even Grandpa that maybe a little crazy but would drop anything for you. If this is your first visit to the HA-HA Trailer Park I highly recommend you check out the other books in this wild place because they will also keep you laughing all throughout. I can’t wait for my next visit to the park!!!

What a fun and sexy ending to Happy Haven world! Sutton and Lila made my face hurt and stomach ache with all their shenanigans. It was witty. It was entertaining. It was hot. Hide and Sneak is such a book where you can just lose yourself and come out all happy and warm.

* enemies to lovers
* brother's best friend
* forced proximity
* great secondary characters/ found family
* a sexy alpha hero
* she is a bit grumpy
* foot k1nk.....

Lila thought she is helping her brother to move in her trailer but she is faced with a shock when he appears along with his best friend and Lila's nightmare, Sutton. She wants to hate him( mostly for being a bad influence) but he is also so gorgeous. As time goes, she realises that he isn't what she thought him to be. Sutton thought Lila is a rule follower and no fun but he gets to know the more sassy side of her. Can they find their happily ever after?

I just loved their banter so much. Lila's brother never told her the truth about Sutton's friendship because he wanted to hide own faults and that's why Lila didn't like Sutton. He is too sexy and c0cky for his own good but Lila's dislike compounded his so called bad qualities. He is actually a great guy. Amazing sense of humor. Very responsible and caring and protective. He found out about Lila's side hustle with her foot and under wear by pure mistake ( what an entertaining scene that was) and it just fanned his very inappropriate thoughts about her. Lila is so sef assured and independent but she had a dream business and she was getting so close when she was unfairly fired from the kindergarten and Sutton was an unexpected support. She didn't think their relationship will go beyond secret sexy times but they grew close through the times they spend together outside bed. It's so sad that Lila's family doesn't recognize someone so awesome like her but it's so amazing that her Happy Haven family more than makes up for it. I love this trailer community so much and I will miss them! Sutton and Lila tried to keep it as sex only but their heart had other plans. Finally, they foind their own piece of happy haven. ( pun intended)

So I've had the worst book slump for months now. I have had multiple books that I end up DNF'ing (or at least NRN'ing) bc I just haven't been able to read anything in sooo long. Between summer break (& daughter being home from school) & just stress of everything I haven't been able to get into a book or more than a handful of chapters in forever. So when S.M. Shade's new book went live, I jumped at the chance to read it!

I love SM Shade's books. Her romcoms already make me feel giddy & swoon over the characters and lol. And this was no different.

Hide and Sneak is the last book in the Happy Havens series & about Lila - one of the residents. When her brother is evicted she lets him move into her trailer at Happy Haven with her. The day he shows up to move in, his best friend Sutton is in tow as well. Lila gives in, now having two roommates instead of one, one of which she isn't exactly fond of. Sutton was a bad influence on her brother when they were teens, and they weren't exactly friends. But things heat up between them when they start a FWB situation & sneaking around behind Lila's brothers back, surely nothing could go wrong?

This book was definitely a cute fun read. It was light and filled with humor and steam. I love the Happy Haven crew and was sad to see it coming to an end. I love seeing the shenanigans that the characters got up to & did enjoy this book, and can't wait to see what is next from SM Shade.

4 ½ Stars ... a laugh-out-loud romance

I love the Happy Haven Trailer Court and all it's quirky residents. I laughed through the first 2 book and this one is no different. The part where Sutton had to go out the window and then the fart part ... I lost it, I was laughing so hard. You'll know what I mean when you read those parts. I loved how Lila didn't take crap from anyone ... well, except from her brother and mother. I wanted to kick both of them where the sun doesn't shine! Don't get me started on Sutton! Who wouldn't love a hunk with an easy smile and a heart of gold? ... No, I mean who? I sure hope this isn't the end to this series!

Lila is a resident of the Happy Haven Trailer Court and she agrees for her older brother to temporarily move in with her. What she wasn't expecting was his best friend Sutton to be moving in as well. Lila hates Sutton and blames him for corrupting her brother when they were teenagers. But Lila has a hard time saying no to her irresponsible brother, so they both move in with her. When her brother gets a job working nights, Lila and Sutton end up spending more time together. And did you know that fine line between love and hate can be stretched and bent?

This book is everything people are needing right now. Laugh out loud, spicey yummyness. An honest to goodness, enemies-to-lovers, brothers best friend, secret relationship, Dual POV in first-person romcom. 👩🏼‍🍳💋

I loved how Lila & Sutton's relationship progressed. She 100% hated him and he very much disliked her, except for a few pesky thoughts here and there, cause ya know, he's a dude who doesn't always think with his big head. Until Lila does him a favor of pretending to be his girlfriend one night at a bar to keep his ex away, then all bets are off.

Their relationship goes from hate, to attraction, to secret friends with benefits, because Sutton is best friends with Amos, Lila's older brother. But, like all secrets, the truth comes out, for both Lila & Sutton, and Amos. It eventually brings Lila & Sutton closer but it pushes Lila and Amos & their Mom further apart. And honestly, with family like that, she's so much better off.

I think of all of Shade's romcoms, this is my second favorite, right behind Scarlett Toys. Thank you for such a fun, yet spicey, story!!

Hide And Sneak: Happy Haven, Book 3
By: S.M. Shade
📖 Read Arc Ebook

We get Lila's story in this book. She's now living alone in her trailer, well, until her 'deadbeat' older brother rocks up with his bestie to crash at her place!

Lila can't stand Sutton. She thinks he ruined Amos in their teens. She blames him for the deadbeat her brother has become, so they avoid each other.

Sutton knows he did wrong, but Lila has no idea of his past or all he's done to right it. He's worked for years to secure a home for himself that's safe and can't be ripped away! The same way she's worked towards her business!🥰

The chemistry that builds between these two is explosive and funny as hell.😍 I laughed out loud at them, their friends, and certain circumstances!😆

This story is full to the brim with found family love and laughter. Emotions leap off of the page, but you're guaranteed a happily ever after, even when it looks unlikely.🥹

This series is just so touching but so much fun too!🥰

Hide and Sneak was hilarious and hot! I love the Happy Haven series so much. Every single romcom lover needs to read these books out. I can’t even tell you how many times I cackled while reading Hide and Sneak.

Lila has always had a bit of a hate crush on her brother’s best friend, Sutton. She blames Sutton for her brother going down the wrong path. Now, her brother is once again in a bad situation that has him and Sutton both moving in with Lila for the short term.

Sutton and Lila can’t stop sniping at each other, but the tension and chemistry are just too good. This book is so witty. The banter and the way they torture each other had me cracking up as did the characters’ inner monologues. I loved the push and pull that their rivalry created.

Hide and Sneak is the third book in the Happy Haven series of interconnected standalones. You don’t need to read the series in order, but I do recommend it for the best reading experience.

I am so not ready to leave Happy Haven and I saw online that there will be a fourth book! I can’t wait to see who it will be about.

First of all I love your books so much. I feel like we need a novella about Pops…hint hint nudge nudge. This book was awesome!!! Sutton and Lila were fantastic and had me constantly cracking up. He was constantly trying to rile her up and she would dish it right back. Sadly he was her brothers best friend since high school so they were off limits, and she was convinced he’s why her brother was the lazy jerk he was. The practical jokes and computer game shenanigans were phenomenal. Her brother tricks her into letting them both live with her since he got them evicted from their last place. And hilarity indies. Her puppy Dusty steals things and drops them in the toilet and he took a cup but the toilet lid was closed and she didn’t know that so Sutton kept bringing it back and putting it places she would see it. This is a great ending to the Happy Haven family and I enjoyed every minute of it!!!

𝐇𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐛𝐲 𝐒.𝐌. 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐃𝐄 (𝙷𝙰𝙿𝙿𝚈 𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴𝙽 𝙱𝙾𝙾𝙺 #𝟹)

★☆5 S͙T͙A͙R͙S͙☆★

This is a bittersweet goodbye to this hilarious, highly entertaining and very spicy trilogy at the 𝙷𝙰𝙿𝙿𝚈 𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴𝙽 𝚃𝚁𝙰𝙸𝙻𝙴𝚁 𝙿𝙰𝚁𝙺.
Lila’s brother is moving in with her at the trailer park until he “gets back on his feet” after losing his job and getting evicted….and he ends up bringing a friend he didn’t mention who needs to stay for the short term as well. Lila blames this friend, Sutton for her brother’s wayward behavior since childhood so she’s very angry, but lets him stay because family guilt, etc...
The quips and banter begins between Lila & Sutton and I’m in heaven. Banter and enemies to lovers is my favorite kind of romance.
Between their banter and her hilarious best friends and neighbors it’s such an entertaining, fun and laugh out loud book.
It’s not as wild as the previous two books, but just as enjoyable and clever. Still funny and zany.
The spice and romance happens in a roundabout way, it’s steamy, funny and has sweet moments as well. These two are so hot, hilarious and entertaining. There is not a dull moment, it’s also very emotional and it’s a really satisfying end to the shenanigans of the three besties, their guys and all the Happy Haven residents. I loved it, I’m sad it’s over, but the ending was perfect.

Hide and Sneak had me laughing out loud so many times I lost count! S. M. Shade absolutely kills at rom-com and the comedy almost outweighs the romance.

I about died at the “fart” scene. I laughed so hard my stomach ached. I laughed for a good five minutes. I laughed till I had tears. I could clearly picture this scene in my head. I’m laughing as I type this out. I also laughed out loud at the “rate my poo” 1-10. Great idea that I may implement one day. Laughing again!

Amos and their mom can drop off the face of the earth but otherwise I love every single character in this book. Well Trunchbull can join Amos and mom, but otherwise.

This book is perfection. There is absolutely nothing about it that I didn’t love. The steam, the laughs, the love, this story had it all. And I just love being back at Happy Haven!

Loved this!! If you're looking for an easy, fun and hilarious read then look no further!.

We're back in Happy Haven and we have Lilah & Sutton's story. Brothers best friend / best friends little sister and these guys made me smile so big!
It's Lilah who lives in Happy Haven, she's been there a few years and saving to open her dream play centre for kids.
Her brother Amos and his bestie Sutton need somewhere to stay while they're waiting on Sutton's home being ready. Cue the dislike, the looks, the humour, the kiss that starts it all and the laughter and steam that follows!

Really enjoyed it and highly recommend this entire series.

This book was so amazing and everything I needed it to be! Lila and Sutton were the perfect balance for each other. Spicy/sweet, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine (with Lila being the surprising grump)! They had the best chemistry, and had me looking forward to every single interaction between them. The banter was incredible. Whether it was between our couple, or other side characters. All of it was so so good. I also loved getting to catch up with our previous couples! S.M. Shade did such a great job with this 3rd installment of the series. I absolutely loved Lila and Sutton and I can't wait to read more from the Happy Haven Trailer Park!

This is the third book in the Happy Haven series.

I cannot get enough of this series. The hilarious things that happen to them is amazing! Sutton and Lila both enjoy trying to puss each other off the constant back and forth is great.

No matter what Lila wants to do to make money Sutton is right there to support her. Lila realizes that she doesn’t know Sutton like she thinks she does. The more time they spend together the crazier the things seem to happen to them.

I couldn’t put this book down and really hope I get to read more from Happy Haven. This series is just as amazing as Violent Circle series. If you need a good laugh this series is for you!

What a brilliant story to end the Happy Haven series.
Lila and Sutton's story is hilarious with hot times thrown in too.
Situations arise that are just too funny and I was literally laughing out loud. Milton stuck in the fun tunnel will live in my head for a good while.
I loved the characters except Amos and Lila's mum. They were horrid but I'm glad she stood her ground and told them both what she thought.

Fantastic story that definitely deserves more than 5 stars

Another great book in the series. So many laugh out loud moments from the MCs and of course the residents of the trailer park. Wanted to strangle her brother and mother though. Recommend this series to anyone who just needs to have a good time and a good laugh!

Favorite quotes with no context 🤣

"How are you supposed to look your enemy in the eye after he’s rubbed your butthole?"

"did she expect me to just Donald Duck it over to the neighbors?"

This book is awesome. I laughed so hard I think I tinkled on myself. But you know what I loved the best? They were adults and acted like they were. When there was an issue there’s not a break up they handled it. It was awesome. It was just so good. Yes it is hilarious but there’s some serious issues tackled. I just loved it.

SM Shade definitely saved the best for last. Luka and Sutton are goals. They are enemies to lovers and when they become lovers it is off the charts. She had me laughing out loud the entire series but this book had me dying. Well done and a fantastic end to a great series.
