The heroine has spent her entire life working on hers experiments, so she has no time to put on makeup of make herself look halfway decent. Her partner in all this is a cooky old man whose son-the hero-wants absolutely nothing to do with him. The hero has had to deal with when it comes to his father and when he shows up at the house and into the middle of an experiment that turns him invisible- the hero is seriously pissed. And so, the reluctant hero is forced to stick around with a dad he has issues with and the woman who is a way, added to that strain. You had to laugh at the hero. He hates his kook of a father-with his stupid experiments and all, and he's super pissed when such an experiment results in him becoming invisible. After he settles a bit, he takes advantage of this predicament but jogging naked and playing games on the heroine. It was a nice romance though nothing practically special.
Truthfully, this book got me into reading. I know, sounds nuts, but my mom was randomly reading it when I was in my early teens and I liked the cover so I gave it a shot. It made me laugh out loud and it got my teenage girl heart beating. Before I read this book and the two others that lit the fire in me, I hated reading. Since the first time I read it I have read literally thousands of romance novels and still, this is the one I come back to and reread often. Not because it’s perfect, not because it’s brilliant, and not because it’s believable, but because it’s fun! It’s a little outside of the box, but in all of my reading I haven’t really seen the same trope used in quite this kind of way. It’s a little out there and there are multiple aspects of commonly seen romance and sci-fi ideas put together in a way that is just plain unique. If you’re intrigued, read it - I’m certain there are multiple libraries that carry it, and I’d even be willing to share my very well worn copy. Don’t go into this book expecting something crazy realistic or some sort of literary genius....just have fun with it! Let it make you smile. And then go out and buy some glow in the dark condoms and blow them up so you can play with your cat. Like your actual feline, I’m not trying to be dirty y’all (well not really)...you’ll get it if you read it ;)
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.
OUT OF SIGHT!
J.T. Drake had always felt he paled in comparison to his father's outrageous inventions. But with the fateful push of a button, one of the professor's madcap gadgets not only knocked him off his feet—it actually rendered him invisible.
Roselyn Peabody's electrifying caress aroused him from his stupor. The beautiful scientist claimed his tingling nerve endings were just a result of his unique state, but J.T. knew sparks of attraction when he felt them. And while Rosy promised to help him regain his image, J.T. plotted to dazzle her with his sex appeal. His plan was as transparent as his body, his tactics—involving many a compromising position—as blatant as the shocks that flew whenever they touched. Only one question remained: When J.T. finally materialized, would their sizzling chemistry disappear or reveal itself as true love?
