يبدو أن الأدب 'الشعبي' الفرنسي المعاصر رشيقا، ساحرا، أنسانيا، تتمني لو كان واقعيا
كأسلوب روايات غيوم ميسو الساحرة، تدور أولي روايات مارك ليفي حول الحياة والموت،،الفرص الثانية..الحب..الصداقة
وشئ من الخيال
فهنا آرثر يفاجأ بشبح لورين، الواقعة في غيبوبة منذ أشهر، في شقته التي كانت لها قبلا..هو وحده يراها
وأن ظننت أن وقوعه في حبها عجيبا...هي أيضا تعجبت من هذا خلال الأحداث
ام كل ماسبق وأكثر

كما قلت، نتابع حياة آرثر منذ انتقل لتلك الشقة بسان فرانسيسكو التي كانت مملوكة لطبيبة شابة قبله... ليجد امامه شبح تلك الطبيبة لورين
يظن انه جن.. وهي نفسها تتعجب اكثر منه لانها علي مدار 6 شهور منذ وقوعها في حادث أدخلها غيبوبة كاملة لم يستطع اي احد رؤيتها او سماعها
يفهم حالتها ويتعاطف معها ويحاول بكل ما يقدر لمساعدتها حتي ولو علي حساب حياته الشخصية
ولكن الغيبوبة هي مازالت حتي الان امر يستعصي علي البشر فهمه كليا....هي حالة لا يخرج منها المرء الا بقدرة ومشيئة الله عز وجل
وايضا اين تكون الروح وقتها...هو ايضا امر لا يمكن تحليله بدقة
ومع ذلك فأن مساعدة لورين تزداد تعقيدا وأثارة بمنتصف الاحداث وتستلزم قرارات اكثر جرأة وأثارة تزيد من سخونة القصة
الحكاية تنساب بسلاسة جميلة ... قد لا اكون ميالا للقصص الرومانسية ولكن الفكرة جيدة
وبالتأكيد كلنا يتذكر تلك الحكاية من الفيلم الكوميدي رومانسي الشهير لريس ويزرسبون ومارك رافلو المبني عليها في 2004

وبرغم اني لا اتذكر كافة احداث الفيلم لكني اعتقد ان الرواية كانت ابسط قليلا...او متسرعة بعض الشئ
بها عيوب العمل الاول ...فهي رواية المؤلف الأولي... لذا بعض المشاهد قد تكون مبسطة او مبالغ فيها وغير طبيعيا
ولكن بوجه عام الحكاية ظريفة وسينمائية ، مثيرة بشكل حقيقي ، اما عن التأثر فلا انكر انني تأثرت جدا في بضع المواقف فيها فعلا
وحتي اللا معقولية في بعض التصرفات حاول المؤلف تداركها في الحوار ولكن المزيد عن هذا في الشخصيات

مهندس اصابه اخفاق في حياته العاطفية مؤخرا بسبب الانانية...يحاول البدء من جديد في شقة في مدينة هي معشوقة محبي فن الهندسة والمعمار، سان فرانسيسكو
مارلين
طبيبة شابة ناجحة، خارجة ايضا من علاقة عاطفية فاشلة بسبب الانانية، تقع في غيبوبة قبل ان ينتقل أرثر لشقتها بست شهور
هي تعلقت به حتما لانك تخيل ان روحك تعيش 6 أشهر دون ان تحدث بشرا او تلمس حتي امها القريبة منها دوما دون ان تستطيع الرد عليها او لمسها
أما عن أرثر ومخاطرته بحياته الخاصة لمحاولات انقاذها فقد يأتي لك برومانسية مبالغ فيها
لكن علي مدار الاحداث قدم المؤلف فلسفة آرثر بشكل ممتاز من وجهة نظري جعلني اتغاضي عن اي رومانسية مبالغ فيها او لا معقولة...بل ويبررها بشكل ملائم
لكن بتقديم فلاش باك لشخصية أمه قد لا ارتاح للحديث المطول الذي شعرت وكأنه من كتاب تنمية ذاتية ، لكنه ملهم وجذاب
ويليق فعلا اذا ما نشأ طفلا علي كل هذا الجمال وحب الحياة والعطاء والطبيعة أن يصبح هكذا
والاجمل هي جزئية قد تبدو بسيطة ولكنها مهمة بالنسبة لي في الادب...رسالة ضمنية
هل لاحظت في البداية أن لورين اكتشفت ان آرثر لا يؤمن بالله في بداية الاحداث
وبعد كل ما حدث وبمنتصف الكتاب ستجد علي لسانه هذا الحوار في اشارة غير مباشرة علي تطور شخصيته ونضجها من خلال الحب
اما عن باقي الشخصيات، فصديق البطل كان مؤثرا فقط في دفع الاحداث، دور مهم لكن الشخصية ادت ما عليها فحسب
محقق الشرطة ايضا بنهاية الاحداث تم تقديمه بشكل جيد جدا وانساني
وسان فرانسيسكو نفسها كانت بطل في الاحداث..رغم ان المؤلف نفسه فرنسي
وبالنهاية... لنر نبذة عن المؤلف

مؤلف فرنسي...بدأ قبل غيوم ميسو بقليل..فصدرت اول رواياته تلك التي المراجعة عنها
ماذا لو كانت واقعية Et si c'était vrai
في عام 2000، وحققت نجاحا ممتازا لدرجة ان ستيفين سبيلبيرج اشتري حق تحويلها لفيلم هوليوودي حتي قبل صدورها لينزل بعدها بأربع اعوام كان خلالها أصدر 3 روايات ناجحة اخري
قد يكون تقييمي لها -وتقييم الكثيرين - لا يزيد عن 4 نجوم لبعض ثغرات العمل الاول
لكن بالتأكيد سأسارع في قراءة جزءها الثاني الذي صدر بعدها بخمس اعوام -مع نجاح الفيلم
بالرغم من ان الجزء الاول يصلح كرواية مستقلة قائمة بذاتها..لكني متشوق لمعرفة المزيد
والي حين المراجعة التالية...ارشح الرواية لمن يحب الروايات الشعبية الحالمة ...والتي نتسائل دوما ماذا لو كانت واقعية
جاهلين انها فعلا واقعية...كما يجب ان يكون

فهنا آرثر يفاجأ بشبح لورين، الواقعة في غيبوبة منذ أشهر، في شقته التي كانت لها قبلا..هو وحده يراها
وأن ظننت أن وقوعه في حبها عجيبا...هي أيضا تعجبت من هذا خلال الأحداث
-لكني وددت الإطلاع علي طفولتك حتي أعرف لماذا أنت اليوم تتمتع بهذه القدرةهل هو حالما بزيادة؟ ام شعر بحاجتها إليه؟ أم هي نزعة المؤلفين الفرنسيين للرومانسية متجلاه هنا؟
-أي قدرة تعنين
-قدرة التخلي عن كل شئ للإهتمام بطيف إمرأة لم تكد تتعرف عليها..فعلا إني قلقة
ام كل ماسبق وأكثر

ويليق فعلا اذا ما نشأ طفلا علي كل هذا الجمال وحب الحياة والعطاء والطبيعة أن يصبح هكذا

I was so delighted when I discovered the movie was inspired by a book! I really thought the film was so sweet, such a feel-good kind of chick flick. The book however, is a whole lot better.
This is the kind of story that makes you believe in magic. It makes you believe that two people can be fated to love one another and that that love is capable of creating the most unexplainable of miracles. It's books like this that strangely feature no religion but yet make me feel closer to God, to the universe, to the love that connects us all.
Perhaps one of the most gorgeous parts of this story comes from Lauren's observations of the world now that she is no longer part of life. There is a message in this book, about living in the moment, and it is spoken through Lauren's anguish at being separated from her family, her regrets, her desperation to be heard and most of all in her ability to see all the beauty in life. There's a part of the novel, towards the very end, where Lauren plays a game with Arthur about a bank account. This particular scene really touched me. You'll know what I mean when you read it.
If you're feeling disillusioned and need to remember what it's all about, give this book a go. It won't take you long to read and when you've finished you'll feel as though you've taken a good, long, deep breath.

Un roman très très léger. Et tout à fait invraisemblable. Non, ce n'est pas l'histoire de la femme dans le coma dont l'esprit se matérialise ailleurs qui me dérange, mais tout le reste. Les dialogues, par exemple, notamment un enfant de 10 ans qui ne parle absolument pas comme un enfant, même un enfant précoce. Et plein de situations auxquelles on ne croit pas, entre autres un grand hôpital américain où l'on entre comme dans un moulin. En commençant le livre, j'ai eu plusieurs moments où (déformation professionnelle de traductrice), agacée, je me disais : «Mais comment il disait ça en anglais? Quelle mauvaise traduction!» avant de me rappeler que ce livre a été écrit en français par un auteur français. Je suis tout à fait d'accord avec le commentaire d'une lectrice sur le site d'Amazon :
«J'ai rarement été aussi frappée par la maladresse de style d'un auteur. Celui-ci, visiblement, n'est plus qu'à moitié francophone. Les tournures de phrases américaines sont légion et m'ont écorché les yeux. Désagréable.»
Je vais sans doute passer à travers la suite (Vous revoir) très vite. Pourquoi je perds mon temps à lire ça? Je pense que c'est comme demander pourquoi on se bourre de chips qu'on n'aime pas vraiment. Ce n'est pas tellement bon, c'est mauvais pour la santé mais une fois qu'on a commencé, on ne peut plus s'arrêter.
En conclusion, si vous voulez un divertissement gnangnan, à l'eau de rose, pas vraiment crédible, si vous voulez une overdose de sucre, voilà le livre qu'il vous faut. Des fois, ça fait du bien de s'abrutir... et on est tellement content après quand on lit un bon livre!

May 19, 2020Marc Levy writes a poetic, funny love story between Lauren and Arthur. Their first meeting is not very ordinary, because she was in his closet and he is the only one who can see her. He does everything for her so that she can go on living, and that welds them together.

This book was preachy and sentimental. And I am someone who usually enjoys sentimental, romantic books. The basic premise of the story was interesting enough - the spirit of a girl in a coma can only be seen by one special guy. However, the author delves into all kinds of background information that was completely unrelated to the plot - such as excessive information about the guy's dead mom and her lover. I kept thinking, WHY is this extra stuff in here? The book needed some serious editing. And boy, the lessons about living every moment were plastered over every page of the last couple chapters. However, my biggest peeve was that it was never explained why this guy could see her and no one else could, why sometimes the girl could touch things and sometimes she couldn't, and why something else happened that I won't give away because it would be a big spoiler.
From reading the synopsis of the Reese Witherspoon movie based on this book, it seems that MANY changes were made to the script that improved the story. So, I would probably see the movie and avoid this book. Unless you are one of those people who really, really likes the sappy quotations about life that people post all over facebook - because this book reads like a compilation of those.

كتلة من اللامنطقية
يعني بيحصل الحاجة وعكسها حتى الرومانسية فيها بايخة اوي
والحكاية قلبت على فيلم هندي جدا مالهوش معنى ومتفصل كدا حتى لو كان مش منطقي بس المهم الكاتب يكون مبسوط

There is a certain amount of syrup in this story, but I've liked it. We meet the human kindness (and the sharp dialogue...) of Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, the fine irony of Jeffrey Archer and a character, detective Pilguez, very similar to Simenon's Maigret. So, at least three of my favorite authors...

Me ha gustado mucho esta novela de Marc Levy, esta fué su primera novela publicada cuando tenía 39 años y que la escribió parasu hijo.
Es una novela de lectura ágil, con capítulos cortos, fresca y divertida. Es una novela romántica nada empalagosa y con ese toque paranormal que ya es un referente en este autor.
Los personajes están muy bien perfilados, peri mi favorito es Paul, el amigo de nuestro protagonista, su personalidad tiene un puntito irónico esencial para que la novela sea muy divertida.
La historia de Lauren y Arthur no termina en este libro, ya que hay una segunda parte, Volver a verte, que leeré en breve.

Lame. Totally, completely, utterly lame. Deeply painful to read. The prose is lazy and the characters typical and pretty unbelievable. And way too corny, with basic carpe diem teenage philosophy. Oh my god, it was just so bad I can't believe it's finished to my relief.

J'ai beaucoup aimé cette histoire, elle contient un peu du tous ... un peu de romance, un peu d'imagination, et un grand suspens qui enveloppe le tous graduellement ....
Il était vraiment un très bon moment pendant cette lecture, et depuis toujours j'aime bien les romans de Marc Levy !

Taktik maktik yok, cat diye girdiği konudan aynı hızla çıkarken insanın yüreğine nasıl bu kadar dokunabiliyor, nokta atışı cümlelerle insanın içine işliyor hayret ediyorum. Saygı duyduğum ve imrendiğim bir tarzı var Levy'nin. Mükemmel, üzerine söyleyecek bir şey yok.

j’avais lu ce livre il y a quelques années, mais nous le travaillons en troisième secondaire et j’ai eu envie de m’y replonger. je lirai assurément le deuxième tome parce que j’ai vraiment vraiment aimé le premier!

This is too much of a romance novel for me too like it. It's about Arthur who moves into a new appartement. In his closet he finds a woman. She turns out to be the previous inhabitant who had a terrible accident and is in a coma. The woman he sees in his appartment is only her spirit. He falls in love and when the hospital is proposing euthanasia he sets out to save her.
The story has good parts: some funny stuff. But also terrible passages concerning the police investigation. Very much a charicature and absolutely unreadable.

I picked this up (while weeding books at my library) because that movie with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, where she's in a coma and he falls in love with her ghost, was based on it.
I didn't like the movie that much, but I thought maybe the book would be good, I'm not sure why.

Me encantó este libro, no tengo nada malo que decir. Me gustó la historia, ya había visto la película y al principio se parecen bastante después ya tienen diferencias. Me gustaron los personajes, especialmente Paul, Arthur, Lili y el poli.
Estaba cargado de reflexiones que vale la pena tener muy presentes. Ya que lo leí digital marqué un montón de citas xd y eso que no soy muy buena escogiendolas, solo cuando realmente me llegan, entre mis favoritas están "En el largo periplo que te espera, no pierdas nunca tu alma de niño, no olvides nunca tus sueños; serán el motor de tu existencia, formarán el sabor y el olor de tus mañanas.", "Si la amistad no es compartir todos los delirios, entonces, ¿qué es?" y "Los hombres también tienen derecho a llorar, Arthur, los hombres también sufren."
Y pues por supuesto que llere el segundo libro. 🤭

A friend recommended this writer to me, so when I found this book in a charity shop, I grabbed it off the shelf.
It is terrible. Really terrible. The characters are two dimensional, the writing is bland, the plot very thin and very predictable - growing far too overly sentimental and it is just cliche after cliche after cliche. I always try to give books a fair go, and I did read this all the way through, but after a point I have to admit that I switched to skim reading. And I don't suppose I missed anything.
The plot? Beautiful clever doctor girl has a car accident and ends up in a coma. Her undead ghost haunts her appartment, and when a young architect moves in, he is the first and only one to be able to see her, speak to her.... And the only one who can save her when the doctors decide to let the comatose victim die.
Definately not a book I'll be keeping!

Depending on how you look at it, "Et si c'était vrai " is either a shoddy novel or a serviceable movie scenario that ultimately become "Just like heaven" starring Reese Witherspoon (75% audience approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes.) The French publishing industry has produced far too many of these monstrosities over the last 20 years.
Marc Levy's recipe is admittedly very strong. From "The Choice" based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, he takes a beautiful young doctor in a coma, a hero who refuses to let the hospital authorities euthanize and a discussion of God's grace. From "Mermaid" he takes a heroic kidnapping to save the heroine's life and an appeal to the audience members to let the magic of love enter their lives.
One would have to be churlish to hate this well intentioned work. I am. It gets one star because there is no lower rating on the scale.

Ce livre enchaîne action sur action et se déroule assez rapidement.
L’écriture est fluide et très accessible.
Malgré que c’était une relecture, j’ai été impressionnée de me retrouver dans cet univers et la facilité avec laquelle j’ai embarqué.
La fin! Je me souvenais du « punch » final, mais pas du coup terminal. Ayoye.

Me esperaba otra cosa...
Los otros tres libros que me he leído del autor me gustaron mucho y en este me ha faltado algo. Quizá influya que vi la película hace unos años y tenía un buen recuerdo y es muy diferente al libro.
Me ha parecido muy poco creíble, dentro del hecho de que en sí es todo paranormal. No sé no estoy inspirada para escribir una reseña!

Ah Marc Levy. Je ne me suis jamais vraiment intéressée à ses livres, bien que ma mère les possède tous. Mais ça c'était avant.
Je vous propose donc ma petite critique de ce livre qui est quasiment aussi longue que ce dernier haha. Je l'ai organisé en plusieurs parties, je raconte pas mal ma vie au début, donc ne vous sentez pas obligé de tout lire, s'il n'y a que ma revue qui vous intéresse allez directement à cette partie là (j'ai titré mes parties pour vous faciliter la vie :))

Un soir, il n'y avait rien d’intéressant à la télé et je m'ennuyais royalement. Ma mère regardait un film. Pas n'importe quel film, c'était l'adaptation du roman 'Et si c'était vrai'. Alors j'ai commencé à regarder sans vraiment regarder. Et finalement, plus le film progressait plus ça m’intéressait. Bon au final j'avoue j'ai carrément kiffé.

Après avoir fait découvrir Goodreads à une amie (coucou à toi si tu passes par là ♥), j'apprends que cette dernière est fan de Marc Levy. Je lui dis alors qu'un seul de ses bouquins pourrait m'intéresser: 'Et si c'était vrai' et bingo, elle l'avait et m'a tout de suite proposé de me le passer. Et comme à l'époque (et c'est encore le cas aujourd'hui) j'aimais carrément les histoires d'amours dont l'un des deux héros est dans le coma/est un fantôme, je n'ai pas hésité et j'ai sauté sur l’occasion. D'autant plus que je commençais à me lasser du livre que je lisais (World War Z) et que je n'ai toujours pas fini d'ailleurs -erm-
Bref elle m'a passé le livre et une semaine plus tard je l'avais fini...

La façon dont les discours sont rapportés m'a carrément conquise en fait. Enfin l'histoire tout court m'a conquise. Comme je l'ai dit plus haut, les histoires d'amour entre un humain vivant et l'âme/le spectre/le fantôme d'une personne dans le coma, c'est carrément mon truc en ce moment. Je sais pas je trouve ça intriguant. Enfin bref, j'ai vraiment aimé et comment dire quand j'ai fini le livre j'avais juste envie de pleurer, parce que, C'EST QUOI CETTE FIN MARC? Dieu merci il y a une suite et j'attendais de poster cette revue pour la commencer. J'espère qu'elle sera à la hauteur de mes espérances. Car oui maintenant j'ai des attentes envers Marc Levy. Je vous dirais ça de toute manière :)
Ne voulant pas vous spoiler, je ne m'étalerais pas d'avantage sur le livre, retenez juste que ce livre se lit assez rapidement et que les personnages sont très attachants.

Personnellement j'ai vu le film avant de lire le livre. J'avais aimé le film et j'ai adoré le livre. Il y a quelques jours j'ai revu le film. Et finalement le film n'est pas si bien que ça. Il y a, à mon goût, vraiment beaucoup trop de changements par rapport au livre. Juste l'idée de l'histoire d'amour entre un homme vivant et une femme dans le coma est conservée. Le reste a carrément été changé. Que ce soit les noms, les relations entre les personnages secondaires et les héros ou encore le kidnapping du corps et la fin, tout a été modifié. Et du coup l'histoire perd de son charme je trouve. J'ai carrément été déçu du film finalement. C'est dommage...
Et voilà, ma première vraie revue j'ai envie de dire. J'espère qu'elle vous aura plu et servi. N’hésitez pas à me laisser vos avis, ça me ferait grandement plaisir.

Esta es una historia maravillosa sobre cómo debemos valorar cada momento de la vida que se nos da y el regalo que esto es. Realmente me encantó este libro, si nuestras vidas no estuvieran tan ocupadas como para olvidar que no debemos desaprovechar al máximo cada momento que vivimos sea bueno o malo. Siempre hay un aprendizaje!
Definitivamente me gustó más el libro que la peli, las historias son un poquito diferentes, en la peli retrataron la esencia del libro, sí, pero no sé como decirlo cambiaron situaciones que están mejor en el libro para mi gusto. Me pondré con el segundo a la brevedad xD

I wanted to love this book because it is what the movie Just Like Heaven was based on. I figured the characters would be more fleshed out and you would learn more about Mark Ruffalo's character, but the whole back story was different and not nearly as engaging. Rent the movie; it was worth watching more than once and the book wasn't worth finishing even once.

Той рідкісний випадок, коли я вирішила прочитати книгу після перегляду фільму. А таке буває вкрай рідко, майже ніколи. Сподобалося і перше і друге. Можливо, тому що я обожнюю історії про привидів😅 Тільки фільм більш гумористичний, а книга більш чуттєва і велика увага звертається почуттям героїв.
Читала давно, коли ще не було українського перекладу, тепер от думаю, може перечитати.
Той рідкісний випадок, коли я вирішила прочитати книгу після перегляду фільму. А таке буває вкрай рідко, майже ніколи. Сподобалося і перше і друге. Можливо, тому що я обожнюю історії про привидів😅 Тільки фільм більш гумористичний, а книга більш чуттєва і велика увага звертається почуттям героїв.
Читала давно, коли ще не було українського перекладу, тепер от думаю, може перечитати.
