i liked this book alot but mainly because i love the series of books. the book maybe chicken soup for the teenage soul but i think that it is a great book for people of all ages. the stories that people have to share about their life experences are shocking and thrilling. some of these stories just seem so unrealistic but the fact that they are true makes them heart breaking and scary. the book teaches us all some really great life lessons and things about people that have been through so much tragedy and happiness. it makes us all appreacate our own lifes so much more and so much more simpathetic to other.i recomend this book to anyone because it truely is a great book. one of the story i like in it was a thing that can happen to anyone. it was about this one girl that loved this boy and always had a chrush on the guy. one day the guy came and asked her out. she didnt belive what just happen to her. the finest guy in 10th grade asked her out and besides him being fine he was her one love. he said that he would pick her up at 7:00 and was going to take her on a "date" at some place. so she was really happy and got ready. she was waiting for him for a long while and then her best friend came and helped her go to the place. they both went to the place and he wasnt there. the next day at school she went to hug hi and told him why he didnt show up. then him and his friends laughed and started calling her names. she was lost and didnt know what was going on. he then said that everything was a joke that he would never go out with a 9tH gader like her. she felt like a fool. then her friend told her that it wasnt her fault that he was a jerk. then she promised not to fall for no one ever again.
This book is like a poem book just not with poems. This book has feelings of other people. Sad, happy and many other times and lives.
I loveeeeeee this book. Because if I have been going through a time I don't know how to handle I look in this book. There will be something I can find. And I gave this book a five star because I loveeeeeeed it I want to read it again!
I will recomend this book for people that are preeteens or soon to be a preeteen.
This book has many small stories in it about many different topic like crushes, bullying, death and even the choices we make. This book informs us that we have to be wise with certain situations and we have to have people earn our trust. People can seem to have our backs, but they could actually be someone who doesn't want to be your friend, but someone who wants to hurt you. We understand how it feels to get our heart broken and we know who is our friend for life or just someone that may just want to use you. This book can teach us something about anything that we wanna know.
There isn't one specific theme in this book because there are a lot of topics that are touched on in this book. One theme is friendship because in one of the stories a girl was stood up by her crush and her best friend was there when she was excited about going on the date and when she got crushed by the guy that she liked. Her best friend was there the whole time, through the good times and the bad times. It is really nice to know that you have a friend who is there for you no matter what happens.
I liked this book for the fact that anybody could relate to it. It is a book that anyone with any problem can come to, if they need advice about anything and they don't want to talk to anyone about it. It is also a book that is really relatable to any teenager because every teenage has a problem that is in this book. This book gives some great advice as to how we can deal with problems that happen in our lives.
This was a good collection of inspiring stories for students at that awkward age. I liked that most of the stories were written by teenagers giving hope and inspiration to others. There were a few stories written by adult celebrities, but almost all of the stories were written by young adults. This gave a more natural feel to the compilation of stories and made it more likely for them to be taken seriously. I just wish they would have added more stories by young boys. Their different viewpoint was definitely missing. But I understand the editors' issue--young boys tend to hesitate to write about their emotions and feelings. It was probably harder to get stories from them. My favorite chapter was "Eclectic Wisdom" where preteens gave advice to others. My favorite bit of advice, which is so very true, was by an 11-year-old boy. "Don't feed your cat cheese! It gives them gas."
"People may come and go, lives may change in an instant, but love and friendship will last forever"-Veneta Leonard "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drice out hate; only love can do that"-Martin Luther King Jr. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again"-American Proverb. "Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2" is a great book, it has a lot of meaningful quotes and could say that I like all of them. "Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2" has different stories and all of those stories are almost have the the same thinkings of the preteen kids these days. Its showed us how the characters in the stories solve their problems, always having positive thinking.
it is a really good book...it help a lot when you're facing different types of situations...it make you fell a lot better about yourself... make you more confident...
When I read this book as a preteen, the stories opened my eyes to issues that I had not even thought that girls my age might be going through along with bringing comfort to my own situations that were taking root in my life. This book was relatable and informative all at the same time which I really liked at this time in my life and is still something I appreciate to this day. I only gave the book 4 stars because I think the book could have been even more honest and real with its readers, but it was still a great read nonetheless.
Written on the first page in my mother's beautiful, looping handwriting: "For my dearest daughter, [my name]. ❤️ mommy."
When I revisited these stories that shaped my childhood, it was a nostalgic experience. I cried at the sadder ones. I remember learning about bipolar and panic disorders and how much suicide could impact people from this book.
I never would've picked this up had I realised how deep it dives into grief; I've been putting off Intermezzo because of it. I used to avoid grief in books because I couldn't relate to it, now I avoid them because it's too familiar.
I really should get more of these... Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2 is a great book, even if you're not a preteen. Some of the stories are sad, some happy, and all of them are amazing. Some of my favorite stories were Thanks, Y'All!, Maddy, Pushed by an Angel, and My Uncle Frank.
Although this is not the type of book that i read most of the time, but it definitely has an unusual, yet eclectic content with a strong sense of reality that i appreciated. This book is the collection of all the touching short stories by preteenagers from everywhere. although the stories are unique they all revolve around the same theme, which is the struggles of teens and the way they solved them. I love most of the stories, i like the way that they are all short, the writers would tend to jump into the stuff instead of giving us too much fluff. I can identify the characters' feelings in the stories as well as their difficulties. Also these stories were all the turning points of these little writers' lives, which make the book deeply thougth provoking. Besides enoying it, i learned a lot throughout the reading. it made me change my views of the society. Sometimes the brave decisions that these characters made made me startled with admiration. It made me open my eyes to different types of people and situations around us. I really love this book, this would be a treasure to people who like short and realistic stories with shifts and turns. After devouring it, you would learn a lot of lessons that apply to daily lives...
This book is full of various of stories that are written by different people who are be coming teenagers. There are also stories about some problems kids face lead them to become a teenager. However, this book also contains some life lessons for children; such as how to be strong when they face family problem and friendship. In addtion, this book can help us understand what are the some issue people face often and how do they deal with it.
This book reminds a lot when I was becoming teenager. There were always happy and sad moments. During my teen time, I had learned a lot life lesson too; such as how to be independent for myself or how to start be responsible for family.
This book is really interesting for kids who are becoming teenagers or people who like to know how others' lives are different than theirs. Some stories might seem very obviously we have already in our lives but its good to know agian; therefore you might find something new.
This is a really good book. It has alot of true storys in it. I liked this book because it has true storys and that is my tipe of books. My favorite true story in this book is called A Friendship To Remember. It is about this girl she is new this school and she is at lunch and this girl came up to her and she hi my name is . After that they become raelly good friends to where they didnt want to leave eachother. Well one day the new girl was in the hospital and her mom called her best friends mom and told her that she is verey sick. So three days later she past away. So the girl that past away wrote a note on this bucket and it had her best friends name on it so the girl finnaly had th guts to open it and it had all her favorite jewlry and all there notes.
This book is a collection of short, non fiction independent stories dealing with day to day issues. The characters in the book are potrayed to be teenagers. The book seems to have a very similar group of people writing the stories and it lacks diversity. The book involves lots of similar themes which reduces the interest of the reader. I believe this books fails to appeal to its target audience. It is better for a slightly more mature audience like teens. Some good parts of the book were where they placed the poetry, near the end of the story. I also liked how the editor added in notes at the end of the story. In conclusion this book is an okay choice for a reader to read.
i liked this book alot but mainly because i love the series of books. the book maybe chicken soup for the teenage soul but i think that it is a great book for people of all ages. the stories that people have to share about their life experences are shocking and thrilling. some of these stories just seem so unrealistic but the fact that they are true makes them heart breaking and scary. the book teaches us all some really great life lessons and things about people that have been through so much tragedy and happiness. it makes us all appreacate our own lifes so much more and so much more simpathetic to other.i recomend this book to anyone because it truely is a great book.
I would give this book a 4 star rating because this book consists of many short stories if various topics which are very interesting and may be helpful to many. I love how there are a lot of topics that are mentioned in the book, so you can hear multiple perspectives of that one topic. It's sort of a guide which can help a lot of preteens; though it didn't really help me. I like the short storyies; some funny, some are very emotional. In overall I would recommend this book to preteens as a guide or just for reading in general. And most of these stories were written by young teens so it can be relatable
I give this book 5 stars because I love the series and what it could be doing for people. I personally own like 8 of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books but I am actually trying to trade them in a couple days lol. Anywaysssss, these books are SO inspiring and I know that they help preteens and teens relate around the globe. I love the way that they are in sections and how there are funny, sad, and important stories. I think that all preteens and teens should read this because we are relating to each other, (which is healing for sure), and we can learn from others mistakes. I love this book :)
I think this book is a great book for teens because it shows how kids live and how they have struggles in their lives. Some of these struggles are family problems and things to do in life like how kids are not able to do things in their life that they wanted to do because they do not have the talent to do so. One of the parts I like in this book is the friendship part because it shows how people care for each other and how people help. Overall this book was a very good book for teens in struggles and want to do in their life.

Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2 is a book based off of many things that a preteen will go through such as, divorice, crushes, death, etc. What is interesting about this book is that it is written by preteens. It is broken down into chapters, what the section will be about. And within each chapter there will be little stories that the preteens submitted. The read is pretty fast and easy. It just took me awhile to read because I had other things going on. I would recommend this book to preteens, teenagers, and parents.
I loved this book ! You can learn a lot from each different stories ! This is a remarkable book, this will help teenagers think in to different perspective and be more open minded in life. My older sister gave me this book at my 13th birthday, at the time I was so stubborn always thought I was right at any situation and didn't even try to understand the other person perspective. I really learned a lot from this book, it will make you think differently and you can read other people experiences who are close to your age and you could learn from them It's such a beautiful book.
I like reading these books because they are all about experiences that different people have had. Those are the kind of things i like to read about whethers its about love, death, friendship, or hardships. This book is filled with letters from teens (girls and boys) just talking about they different things they have been through and how they got through it. It is basically just them sharing their personal hardshops or triumphs with the world.
Chicken soup is a book that anyone can connect to.I feel like im in the persons shoes cause i can really relate to.this book is about trues stories kids and teens are facing everyday from family problems to love stories chicken soup has go it all.i think teens will really like the books. theres a chicken soup for every type of subject.
very good book! some shared stories brang myself tears, knowing that they are all true stories. i always thought of them as one of my stories or a neighbours. so it was very heartbreaking. but i find it takes a huge amount of courage to share stories about death and etc. especially knowing the are between 4 years old and 16 years old
I personally think that you should get it. it is a great book on life's lessons learned from others who have made the same mistake as you. I has stories on kids who are so determined to walk around when the doctor said that they couldn't. if you want to know about certain things you will probably end up finding them in this book or the first one.
The best book ever!!! As a preteen this book has boasted my confidence. It has influenced and encouraged me to be less shy and has showed me the right path. Reading this book has encouraged me to do more and make a difference.
On the back the book is recommended for 9-13 but i personally feel its 9+. Anyone will get the same effect.
This is a really good book. The stories are amazing. I recently finished reading 'Do Hard Things'(basically things outside your comfort zone) and many of the boys and girls qualify. It if really powerful stuff. I highly recommend it!
It a good book. It like people are sharing what they feel inside of them love, sadness, on TOUGH STUFF, and other things like that. I'm going to start to read all there books. I love the part that They had a best friend
