A divination tool to connect with guides from the Egyptian pantheon A 35-card deck with original artwork by award-winning illustrator Kris Waldherr Guidebook includes detailed card interpretations and 8 divinatory spreads By the authors of Shamanic Mysteries of Awakening the Healing Power of the HeartThe Anubis Oracle is a shamanic guide to inner Egypt, a place of mystery, ancestral wisdom, and abiding love that resides within each of us. It is a place where the neteru--the archetypal deities and elemental spirits from the Egyptian pantheon--lead us on our journey of transformation, a journey designed to open our hearts and teach us the inner workings of the soul. The full-color deck contains a Key Card, a card for each of the 22 deities and 4 elements, and 8 composite cards that portray several deities together. These composites represent 8 major portals of initiation and complex archetypal relationships. The accompanying book provides detailed interpretations for each card and instructions for 8 divinatory spreads that include entering into the mystery, achieving higher love and wisdom, and identifying our sacred purpose. By divining with the neteru, the shaman within awakens. This allows the neteru to reveal the answers we seek in our personal lives and in our interactions with the world by connecting us with the wisdom, guidance, and shamanic mysteries of Egypt that live within us.

Although this is written in a eurocentric mindset, so far I have found the information interesting and useful! The book I am currently reading uses alot of the treminaology and Khamitic concepts as well, except of course this book never used terms like Khamitic or Nubian, the reader would then question some of the images illustrated on the cards. Thank God I am seeking the truth or I would be even more confused, I find it interesting that they used the term Shamanic in the title, which means to connect with the spiritual world, but refused to explain the spritual world by which the current spirits came from before they crossed over!
I believe its a dis-service to mankind to tell half truths and to limit any connection to Ancient Khamtit to myth or fantacy. When using a term like Myth one assumes that it is completly made up although we are aware that certain stories were used to make ourstory more interesting so that they are pasted down. The same way the bible is used today although followers and believers in the book deny any possibilities that the stories are myths they in fact consider the bible the truth and the light. In this book some of the stories described in the bible as truth are simular to those Khamitic stories but although the biblical stories were dated thousands or more years after the Khamitic ones they still call it truth but the originals are considered Myth. This is very offensive to me as should it be to you reader.
But don't let that stop you from reading this book because I have learned that within every lie lays the truth and the only way to find the truth is to prove the lie is a lie! As well I am aware that pale-people use our culture to shape theirs and that it is natural for a liar to reveil their lie if you just read closely! Just like a serial killer a serial lier wants to get caught and admired for getting away with it for so long!
I got a Tarot Deck first, long before getting this deck, and I never quite connected with it. I'm not sure if it was just too advanced of a deck, or the imagery didn't 'fit' quite right with the theme in my opinion, but I connected much better with the Anubis Oracle Deck, and this companion Book is a wonderful source of information on the cards and how they fit together.
The images of the cards, even rendered in shades of grey within the book, are beautiful. The explanations of each card and the images upon it are easy to understand and connect with and the theme holds true to the images. All in all a beautiful companion book for the Oracle Deck.
I've read this book twice now and get more out of it each time. "There is no end to our becoming." -- Ancient Egyptian proverb. Indeed...this book is one I will return to in my spiritual journeying. Anubis is one of my spirit guides and this book has helped me to connect to him. Anyone who wishes to develop their relationship with the Neteru of Ancient Egypt could benefit from the practices in this book. Hotep (Peace).
