A Click That Changed My Life by Victoria Vorel is a 2011 self publication. I was provided a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

It isn't a new thing by any means for people to connect online and for relationships to develop. I have met many people online that I consider friends although we have never met face to face. For those looking for a something deeper than friendship, online dating is the most common way of meeting people.

For Victoria her personal experience was unique in that she was Latino, had been married long enough to see her two children into adulthood. She was in her early fifties and was ready to experience a relationship with a man that would respect her and view her as an equal companion and lover. Victoria deliberately sought out someone from a country other than her own. She met a man named Kurt. They corresponded over a seven month period and decided they were ready to begin a life together.
This book is a true story, although the names have been changed. Victoria takes us on her personal journey of meeting a man on the internet, falling in love, deciding to marry, introducing each other to their families, and learning the cultures of other countries. Victoria has experienced so much in the years since she met Kurt. Wonderful travels and a solid relationship as given her an entirely new perspective on life. It is obvious that Victoria is a very contented woman, full of joy and peace.

Victoria is a person who has had a life altering experience and now sees the world though the eyes of a woman in love and a woman that took control of her life and wasn't afraid to call out her country for it's attitudes.
While she found the love of her life via the internet, she does urge people to proceed with caution.
I enjoyed reading about Victoria's journey. Her travels were of particular interest and I felt the author did a good job of describing the points of interest she was fortunate enough to experience. The new family she has, the new customs she learned and new life she has built is really amazing.
I hope Victoria continues to feel the joy and peace she has worked to obtain.

Told in first person, Victoria does a great job of writing in English. There were some phrases which made it obvious she was not using her native language when writing. But, she has amazing grammar skills, considering.

Overall I will give this one an A.

Victoria Vorel shares her experience of finding her soul-mate on the Internet by being patient, seeing beyond words, and following the deep voice that tells you what is right and what is wrong. The author encourages readers to search for love, charity, joy, friendship, sympathy and genuine concern toward others.
This is not a manual on how to find the love of your life. It is the true story of 2 people who are happily married thanks to the internet. They travel together and she enjoys meeting his family and friends in Switzerland. If you are searching for love, you will enjoy reading how Victoria Vorel from South America found her soul-mate, Kurt from Switzerland over the Internet.

A small-ish book with a big heart, I suspect very much reflecting the personality of the author, Victoria Vorel, A CLICK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE, was an enjoyable read!

I finished it in a few sessions. What pleased me was the inspiration, kindness, and enthusiasm of the writer, Ms. Vorel, as she tells her story of happiness in making an internet love-match as a mature person.

Her experiences take her to another hemisphere and she delights in almost everything she sees and encounters from new family members to new cultural surroundings:

"I became more and more attracted to the forest, sometimes I stayed there for a very long time enjoying the beauty that surrounded me, the huge pines, the charming flowers, the fallen leaves, the birds, and the deers."

Much of this little book reads like a travelogue as Vorel describes how she and her loved ones travelled to various European countries and thrilled to the cultural differences, the beauty of architecture, and the flavours of new cuisine.

There are a few editorial snags throughout as in grammatical typos but I feel it adds to the charm in the telling, since English is not the mother-tongue of the author. Although, having said that, it's more than a respectable job of writing with good use of vocabulary, and descriptive knowledge of places. (I should not like to have to write my book in Spanish - heavens!)

Perhaps there could have been a bit more about the relationship between the couple as in the use of more dialogue, but overall, I got a good understanding of why it worked as it did:

Vorel has a positive spirit and speaks about having a respectful attitude towards the feelings of others. I see that she knows how to create her own happiness and thus the people around her are the lucky ones!

As Vorel states, so well:

"Kindness generates positive feelings and confidence the same as mistreating generates anger and bad feelings. The question is which side we would want to be?"

I recommend you read this book, and share in her joy!

This is truly a beautiful story that comes straight from the heart. The author chronicles an improbable journey to finally discover her true love in a man living on another continent. The story is written with sensitivity, passion, and gratitude, reaffirming for all of us that true love is not just a fairy tale but actually exists and is potentially available to anyone courageous enough to embrace it. Victoria Vorel took a giant leap of faith but listened to her heart and realized happiness beyond her dreams. In reading this memoir, you will find a few grammatical errors and awkward use of words that actually make this book that much more authentic and charming knowing that English is the author's second language. I would say please indulge her and enjoy this book for the wonderfully heartwarming, inspirational, and uplifting story it is. Five stars. I highly recommend A CLICK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE.

Victoria Vorel has written a beautiful love story. Internet love affairs can be very tricky half of Americans or the world, in one way or another, have encountered meeting a friend or lover in all the wrong places. I know this works for some people. It's an excellent pastime for most.

I talked to many people, and they say they found the good, the bad, and the ugly some nightmare stories. You are taking a considerable chance of not knowing that person, so to my surprise, I was astonished reading this story.

She found a good man and fell in love with his words first and friendship. Then her journey travels begin with passion, spirit, hope, peace, thoughtfulness, and faith. It takes a strong woman to let a stranger in and married him right away.

Off they go in a white horse riding into the sunset. If only it was that easy. I highly recommend the book. It's a page-turner and an excellent short romance novel.

A Click That Changed My Life, a memoir by Victoria Vorel, is a story of hope. The author's journey begins when she meets a man online. A simple friendship takes an unexpected turn as the Queen of the Forest finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings after she follows her “internet lover” to his world. The sincerity of this openminded woman and her true feelings are reflected in the authentic language she uses to describe her adventures. I recommend this book and thank Victoria Vorel for sharing her story of love, courage, and respect.

It's a bit of a tour of Europe mixed in with a dose of how cultures view each other.

The simple message of the book is that love is possible at any age and that it might not always be easy to make a life together but it's possible.
