A wildly original poetry collection from one of the UK’s most exciting young comics, this collection is full of poems by Key (award-winning) primarily about love, sex, dreams, death, and fruit (strawberries, beans etc). The publishing of the book in no way ties in with things like "demand" or "clamor," but is more a result of Key having a full English breakfast with the right person at the right time. Key is not the sort of person to take offense if you don't buy his book but instead replace it on its shelf or lazily slot it between a couple of DBC Pierres or dump it by a pot plant next to the till. Key's just happy that someone has bothered to touch it.
Key has written four books. His most recent focuses on the lockdown of 2020. His others are collections of poems and other bits and bobs. He also does other things: stand-up comedy, acting, Alan Partridge's sidekick.
Review: Delightful and funny and made me smile. Good stuff.
I quite like Tim Key. I think he is funny and earnest. It takes some amount of bravery to make a comedy career out of poems and he should be commended on it. Not much to say in the review other than its FUN.
Here's one that I liked.
POEM#919 ‘STATS’
I’m in love with a girl. But I’ll never have her. Or at least it’s statistically unlikely. Because she is extremely pretty. And because I only saw her on the telly in the crowd at the French Open.
