For book club: The assignment was to read and share about a cozy mystery. Saw this at the library book sale for 50¢.
Cats, theater, mystery...what could go wrong besides a dead body. It was an interesting read for the first foray in the Alice Nestleton series; however, I know it will become Jessica Fletcher-ish: I never want the woman to visit.

This was a four cassette audiobook, that I picked up during the last hours of a book sale, at the Rockford Public Library. I got a big grocery bag full for $1.00. Alice Nesterton and her boy friend Tony, go to a rent party, for an old man, who was involved in show business. Shortly after their arrival, an old friend of Alice's, steps out of the rest room. He is shot and killed. Alice was friends with this cat loving friend, and goes into her detective mode, to learn why anyone would want to murder him. She learns more than she would have liked to know about her friend. She learns the crime, that her friend and others, have been committing for many years. Alice earns her living with a few acting jobs in commercials, and cat sitting for people, who go out of town. Alice reconnects with an old acting friend, who joins her in her detective work.
