Google SketchUp for Site Design illustrates a holistic approach to how it works and more importantly, what to do with it. Filled with tutorials from front to back, the book focuses on the start and completion of projects that include rich detail and expression. Each part and chapter of the book builds on the previous chapters and tutorial. You will learn how to approach modeling site plans, buildings and site from modeling each of these exterior environment elements to piecing them together to generate a singular and expressive model. The book culminates with tutorials demonstrating effective and simple ways to include grades and terrain using the Sandbox tools and how best to integrate the entire approach with AutoCAD and SketchUp. Also included are links to supplemental on-line resources such as YouTube tutorials and free tutorial and example models from 3D Warehouse. The book is useful for all SketchUp proficiency levels including beginners, hobbyists, and professionals.

This book is more oriented to those just getting started with SketchUp, so I found a lot of it to be a summarization of the basics. However, the tutorials are very informative and concise, it's a great resource for new SketchUp users.

The Sandbox section was useful to me because it contained myriad ways to utilize the sandbox tools, from landscaping to canopies to even facades. I've always felt that he best way to learn a program was to follow practical tutorials, rather than reading up on what each tool does.

I love how he's made each model available in the 3D Warehouse so that you can follow along with the steps.

While the landscape tutorials looked good, the architecture examples were pretty bad. The courthouse is rather ugly, especially with all those windows and the odd parapets. I understand that it's just for practice, but it's better to practice with something designed well than with a clunky mass.

Compared to the other SketchUp guides I've seen, this is definitely one of the best. I'd highly recommend it.

A very clear and useful book for anyone that is learning SketchUp. Lots of tips and tutorials. I was already a fairly seasoned user of SU when I read this, and I learned several new tricks that have really helped me. This book, and Aiden Chopra's "SketchUp for Dummies" are required reading for any SketchUp user.

At some point, is too much basic. But meet what the author accomplish. The checklist and even more, the links shared is a must.
For those who fell in love about the method of-Google-Sketchup of doings thinks (and fast), will be a delight.
Simple but not simplistic.

This is the most convenient Sketch-Up book. It has all you need to master sketch-up, and the best thing is it use easy-practical tutorial that cover almost all aspect to master sketch-up

really good tutorial for learning sketchup. I'd like to say his books are the best, but I actually think he's the only one writing them.
