It seems that the older I get, the more disappointed I am with most self-help books. If I could have read this book back when I first added it to my to-read list, and especially if I could have used it in a hands-on training program (it is designed to be used that way), I am sure I would have liked it much better.
The book is well-written and has numerous exercises to try and teach you the difference between non-assertive, assertive, and aggressive behavior styles. Some of the situations even give guidance as to what the best assertive response to the individual situations should be. The book is short and easy to read.
