If you want to have a short overview on all kind of ancient or modern mysteries this is the right deal: ghosts, facts or fiction, hoaxes, ghost hunters, The Flying Dutchman, the ghost girl of Cucuta, The Bellwitch, the Rosenheim Poltergeist, disappearances, lost at sea, flight into mystery, Roanoke Island, the lost colony, Mary Celeste, the vanishing lighthousemen, lost on Everest, the lost world of the Maya... this book is the ideal starter for further research. Many great illusions and photos too. The motifs in this book still fill the bookshelves. Highly recommended.

This book was a bit of a stretch for me. I usually like novels but I decided to try something different with this one. Even though it was an easy read, I was not very impressed with this book. It was fun to read the stories but there was never enough information given to satisfy my curiosity. If you're looking for a fast read to fill some time then this is a book for you. Don't expect to get pulled into the book though because it's not that kind of book.

A book full of unexplained mysteries. Each page contains little factoids and pictures describing mysteries that have happened in the past. Most of these mysteries are labeled as "unexplained" which I found a little dull. My favorite mysteries are those that have been solved as I could see how people were confused by the events that happened.

There simply wasn't enough depth to this book. It gave me some neat things I plan on looking into and researching, but for the most part I had heard most of it before. And it was incredibly short.

I didn't absolutely love this book, but I still think that the historical elements, such as quotes from former presidents, were really interesting. I did not realize that so many figures in history really did seem to believe in the supernatural. I think students would find this interesting too.
