When I first bought the book, I was eagerly looking forward to the information the author had to offer. Boy was I disappointed. I expected much more out of Ricard Webster than this. Granted, he was never my favorite author, but this was the most disappointing book from him I've encountered so far. I would describe this book as akin to Wishcraft by Barbra Sher, and that book is not even a book on magic, really.
Write Your Own Magic is more like writing positive thinking on paper rather than creating any kind of recognizable magic...did I mention how disappointed I was with the book? It would be a great companion to books like The Secret, but it needs some more yardage to go before it crosses the line into magic. Webster is normally a ceremonial magician type, so even I was surprised just how far he missed the mark in his own specialty. Or maybe there's something I myself am not getting from this...I don't know. All I know is I don't know how this fits in with what he normally writes about. In my opinion, it's a self-help book dressed up in ceremonial costuming. Not only is it too obvious, it's looks totally abnormal.

Write Your Own Magic is a wonderful how-to book. It could be renamed "How To Send Your Wishes and Prayers into the Universe." The author, Richard Webster describes how to create wishes, write them down, and use magical helpers like candles, herbs and crystals. He includes magical squares, and sigils. It is must for any practitioners reference bookshelf.
