Essie’s always wanted a sister, but she didn’t imagine that their first meeting would involve finding a body on the shore. When Essie recognises the dead woman, a new mystery unfolds.
Belinda, Essie’s sister, has quite enough on her mind without adding murder to the mix. The man she’s engaged to has begun to display some warlock-like tendencies. He also happens to be heading up the investigation into the death of the woman found on the shore.
Belinda’s not the only one with man trouble. Julian Trent insists he’s innocent, and Essie wishes she could believe him, but she can’t let herself get sucked in for a second time. She’s discovering more about their bond, about the history of Time Witches, and about her own vast power. She’s also getting closer to Sebastian, and becoming friends with Kim. The last thing she needs is to carry on caring for Julian.
Can Essie balance new family, a new mystery, and get to grips with her Time Witch powers? Find out in So You Think You’re a Sleuth?

By the time I got to about 20% in the book I felt absolutely giddy with excitement. I could count on both hands several little mysteries woven through the plot that made me go “oooh what’s going on here??”
With so many exciting twists and turns, this is yet another excellent addition to Albrights vast and well-crafted magical world.
My brain is absolutely itching to know what happens next.
Thanks to A. A. Albright for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion. This is second book in this series, developing the characters and unfolding events towards the conclusion of the trilogy in the next book. I have loved all of the previous series that link to this spin-off by reintroducing some of the characters, and this unique yet aligned series is every bit as good. It is a delight visually with the lovely cover and 'witchy' font introducing the chapters, and yet again the descriptions of magic and devices stretches the imagination of all of us who read these wonderful, magical stories. The characters, including the familiars, are interesting, likeable and realistic (as well as having paranormal abilities!). There are twists and turns aplenty as we go through several unexpected outcomes, with the manipulation of time, the main feature, done so cleverly. As ever, there is love and romance, but who is it with? I can't decide if I'm in 'Seb ' or 'Julian' camp, but I love the magical bond that Essie feels with her husband, Julian. Fabulous, magical, clever, comical and truly wonderful, don't miss this!
Sweet, sad and funny, Essie and Julian in their supernatural romance manage to mirror most of us in our everyday relationships all too well. We all make our mistakes, as they do.
How wonderful to be able to go back in time, even with the pain the knowledge of the past will bring - with such rare opportunity - and see the truth. See what went wrong, who was there, what they did to cause it and perhaps, just once know and set things right in the present with truth, for those involved.
Enjoying the Albright mysteries with a warm relatable heroine, likable characters and certainly thoroughly gorgeously despicable villains readers love to dislike (which makes us all appreciate justice when the evildoers receive it in the end) and an absolutely worthwhile read
Even better than the first one! I couldn’t put it down, literally! It was 2 am when I finished reading! Things were so crazy. Remembering family, meeting them all over, discovering hidden plots, brothers no one knew about, and people not being who everyone thought they were! I’m already dying for book three! I don’t think I’ve ever been through such a whirlwind of a plot!
I love that this series is full of action, emotion and twists and turns. It brings you everywhere but at the same time it's so focus on the end goal. Sweet characters and a good story; you can't ask for more. No pressure but, I can't wait to read the next story !
Talk about twists and turns! This book started out exciting and didn't let up. I enjoyed the humor from Marbles, and I can't wait to see what happens next for our star-crossed lovers.
