OK, let's take a second stab at this review. This book's title is very straightforward as to what it promises: teaching you techniques to use while job hunting on popular social media outlets. Overall, it succeeds in that goal. Most of its explanations are kept at a beginner level, which is totally understandable. However, I still think it can be useful for people who already have some experience in this because:

a) People forget the basics all the time. I know I do.

b) By reading the explanations and stories, you can begin to think of new ways to apply these basic techniques.

So, what didn't I like about it? Well, first of all, there are some isolated attempts to use humor during the explanations. At least for me, almost all of these attempts fell flat, and they distracted from the main purpose of the book, which is instruction in how to use social media. I think for the most part the scattered jokes should have been left on the cutting room floor.

Also, the book didn't age very well. As of when I'm writing this review, it's been three years since the book was published. Within just those three years, an entire chapter (5) became obsolete when the feature that chapter was completely focused on was removed from LinkedIn. Now I know that technology is a genre that ages particularly quickly and poorly. However, to have an entire chapter of nearly wasted pages to me seems like it was due more to poor editing decisions than the inevitable obsolescence of technology.
