Will them working together be the beginning or the end of their duet ...

This is my second read by Mrs Mary Lancaster, my first having been the first in this series, so fun that this one will be the last book in it.

What a lovely read it was, words flow easily and smoothly. From the very beginning I was entranced by this tale. Such I devoured it in one sitting.
I just adored her main couple but also the side ones, and the secondary romance.

Lily is such a pleasure to learn about, she is easy to live with, she brings happiness in her wake. So much, Randolph was lost from the moment he set eyes upon her.
While Lily is the angel enlightening everyone’s life, Randolph lives in the shadows, impersonating a fleeting peer with few countenance. When he is so much more than what he let everyone see. And while he is good at what he does, Lily is one who slowly comes to read who he hides behind his carefully crafted appearance.
I loved both Lily and Randolph, despite their age difference, they are perfect for one another, as each enhances the other’s mood. And while they are engaged in a dangerous game of exposing a traitor, Randolph does not play all almighty lord, he listens to Lily’s thoughts and instincts. Able to recognize when he is in the wrong. And when it was at the beginning, only a time occasion to spend a bit more time together before they split and each goes to its own path; soon it becomes obvious their burgeoning attraction is more than what they thought. Up to them to see if they can flaunt conventions.

A special mention to Millie, Randolph’s sister, she is such a ray of light, giving the appearance that she is shallow when she is only hiding deep wounds.

5 stars for this moving and full of actions read.
I was granted an advance copy by the publisher Dragonblade Publishing, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

This book did have charm and a certain sweetness about it. Honey Farthingale and Thomas Halford, the Earl of Wycke, are two nice, likable, genuinely good characters. Their relationship is basically love at first sight, and may be one of the quickest insta-love romances I've ever read. There's a heartwarming subplot about the Earl's mother suffering from dementia, which was handled by the author with great care and grace. There were large scenes involving many characters, these were fun and well done and definitely makes me want to check out the author's other books.

Unfortunately, at times, practically perfect and characters aren't always interesting, and I felt that the H/h lacked some depth. Honey and Thomas spoke a lot, and talked about their feelings, but the lengthy conversations often felt a bit forced. There wasn't much conflict in this story.

The "villains"weren't really much more than immature "mean girls," and Honey handled them well. I like the set down Thomas gave the Duke about his daughter's bad behavior, but we never heard anything from the Duke. No reply, nothing. This is just one example where the tension in the book could have built a bit.

The "secret" that Honey was keeping really wasn't that big of a deal, even for the time period (considering she wasn't part of the peerage or the ton).

If you're looking for a nice, sweet, insta-love, easy, no angst read, then this is the book you need. And there's nothing wrong with any of those things. We all need a little love and goodness in our lives.

I received this book from NetGalley, the opinion is all my own.

I highly recommend this story.
This book is about a lady who faces horrible odds to survive. On the eve of her coming out ball, her father takes everything of value and leaves her after telling her she is worthless. He rips her mother's jewels from her neck and she is forced to face his investors and others he is indebted to. She was lucky to survive and get a position as a companion and she lives like that for about 6 years. A women comes to the house from Portugal, where her father has been hidden. Her father's death bed confession causes his wife, the lady previously mentioned, to return all of her father's assets to the heroine. The lady from Portugal is independently wealthy and dies not want his ill-gotten gaines. The heroine realizes that no one in society will allow her back because her father stole money from so many people. And she doesn't know how to start to pay them back because there were no records. She engages the services of a match maker and is paired with the hero whose father committed suicide because he invested with the heroines father and lost everything.
This story was so good. I enjoyed the story plot and the telling of the story. It was swift and easy read. All the parts made sense and I didn't have to re-read sections because they did not make sense. The characters were all likeable and easy to understand. The grammar and spelling were accurate. The people spoke in a more formal way, appropriate for the period. There is some sensuality, but the story is not dependent on it. I highly recommend this book 5 stars

I absolutely love that this series the names are different from most books, its refreshing to be able to remember who your reading and a lot of book tend to use the same names so will sometimes get them tangled in my head.
Honeysuckle Farthingale dreams of having a family, but due to her "secret" believes that will never happen. Unbeknownst to her she has caught the eye of the Earl of Wycke. He has seen her a briefly spoke to her but already feels pulled to her when ever she is near. He invites her and several others to a house party, and his feelings for her deepen. He has a lot on his plate with his mother, thinking he is his dad most days and unable to remember the simplest things. (early dementia but it was such a hard thing for them to deal with as they didn't understand it and most didn't treat it with compassion.) Honey immediately feels pulled to his mom and helps in any way she can; deepening his feelings for her. Neither hide their feelings but his love doesn't change Honey to the point of trusting him with her secret. I felt like she should have told him earlier as that part felt dragged on a bit. But the ending was very sweet and overall a great book!

This novel was another enjoyable read by Ms. Cameron. A delightful tale that involves a conspiracy, kidnapping, adventure, and love. Bethea Glanville wants to marry for love and will accept nothing less, until she is caught in a terrible position which results in her kidnapping. Camden Kennedy works for the crown and has no desire for a wife, but it does not stop the thoughts of having Bethea in his bed. Everything changes for them when Camden finds Bethea and the only way to protect her is to say she is his betrothed. Neither wanted not expected the marriage and Bethea has no plans on consummating the marriage, for she does not know if Camden loves her. Camden realizes he loves her and she is the only woman for him, but now he has to convince her of that.
I received this novel as an ARC from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lady Emma Spencer never had a come out as a young woman, as it was stopped when her father comes home and tells her that he is leaving England without her. Then he steals the diamond necklace and earrings; that were her mothers, off her person and disappears out the door before he could be caught. She is left penniless and homeless as her cousin does not want her either. Appears that her father has embezzled money from many of his peers. Marcus becomes the Earl of Rutherford after his father’s death finds out that he is bankrupted, thanks to his father’s gambling and bad investments. What surprises lie ahead for these individuals as they use the Black Widow of Whitehall in looking for a match? I have enjoyed this series that tells the stories of couples that need the help of the service that is provided by the Lyon’s Den.

We’ve seen Lily Villin is the true heart of the Hart Inn where love always seems to blossom no matter whatever the obstacles. She’s always had a tender for Randolph, Lord Torbridge, is a man of many secrets. When he realizes she’s can mimic ladies of the ton he enlists her help to find a well-born traitor. Torbridge has always felt something for Lily, but he’s known he can’t marry below his station or can he? He takes Lily to his sister’s home and from there the investigation begins. I love these two, their attraction is mutual and Lily knows must give into these feelings or she’ll be ruined, but it gets complicated when they are thrown together every day. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily reviewed it and the comments are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters were well done, and I just loved Connor, the son of Isobel..
There are so much twist and turns and lots of angst.
I enjoy Maeve Greyson's stories always have, this one is just a little different than the rest of her books.
Nightmares of how Isobel's life is hard to overcome for her, and she has to trust Alasdair once again. She is willing to do anything to keep her husband at bay, anything.
Alasdair has loved Isobel all his life it seems, and he hasn't changed how he feels. He will do anything to protect her, and save her from herself and from others. Even die.

If you like action, and mystery all in one this story is for you.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this story.

Bethea was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She overhears a plot to overthrow the King and subsequently gets kidnapped. She is rescued (of course) by the gorgeous Camden Kennedy and to save her reputation he tells everyone they are betrothed. This leads to a wonderful realisation of feelings etc...

For such a short book, I found myself thoroughly invested in the characters. I felt the sexual tension between the characters and the moral dilemma they face in not wanting to love each other.

Read it in one sitting. It was heartwarming.

I am reviewing this book voluntarily, thanks to Netgalley and Dragonblade Publishing for making an ARC available to me.

2 stars:
The story line of the book had a good premise, but there wasn't enough substance in the middle to hold it up! It was a nice, easy read ...I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either ...it just didn't emote any emotion from me! If I didn't know any better, I would have thought this was a Christian novel ...this was pretty tame, even down to the steamy bits!!!

Thank you to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review of this novel

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a short historical romance with an intriguing hero and a dating heroine. Bethea is at a ball trying desperately to avoid a suitor when she overhears a plot between two traitors. They catch and kidnap her. Camden rescues her and marries her in order to save her from a lecherous Earl. While the plot is intriguing and adventures, I was not taken with the characters. They seem a bit too bland for Highlander romance.

What a good story. I loved both Emma and Marcus. Although circumstances and necessity brought them together, they are attracted to each other and hope to make their marriage work. Having chosen to leave the past in the past, Marcus is unaware of who Emma is. Emma is unsure if her father's evil touched Marcus' family. A showdown is inevitable.
I will definately recommend this wonderful book.

This book was laid out will, with interesting facts or ethics studies splashed on many of the pages in side boxes. This was probably the most interesting textbook that I read for this term, but I'm glad to finally be done with the reading for this course (Mass Communications I). I accidentally got the "International Student Edition" of this book, but I don't think that affected the content of the book.

This book is the seventh in Collette Cameron’s Heart of a Scot series. The heroine, Bethea, overhears a plot against the king and she is kidnapped. The hero, Camden, rescues her and in doing so is forced to marry her. Friends become lovers. I did not like that one of the villains gets away, to resurface in the next book perhaps? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

I was hooked from page 1. This book had a vey good story line and I always love books that have multiple point of views. I didn't like that the description of the female lead didn't look like the woman on the cover. The cover is part of why I picked this book and it gives me a mental picture to go along with the words.

*I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.*

This was an okay read for me. It was easy to follow and a very quick read. I would've liked it to be a little longer to get more invested in the romance, however it was still enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick historical read I would say give this a go.

A decent historical romance with interesting character development and sort writing. Does have some triggers for abuse.
