This book is so horrible that the author thinks he is better than the little prince.
Its like writing "the bible two: how Jesus should have done"

Don't waste your time reading it.

Even though a sequel to The Little Prince is completely unnecessary, I wanted to read this because it's written by Saint-Exupery's niece (although not by blood). She did the best thing and based it on true events and turning points in her own life, instead of being inspired by nothing but profit. She has le petit prince do some interesting things and make some intriguing statements (albeit, some of which are definitely not his style), and she seems to find herself in the process. That said, whereas the original's message and execution was pretty darn subtle, here we have a loud, obnoxious message actually written in all caps, several times, in a decidedly grown-up voice. Although it's directed at children, who I suspect would be altogether bewildered and confused by this jumbled-up book, Saint-Simon does not have the playful, graceful, childlike prose and wonder that St-Ex perfected in his masterpiece. In addition, she re-uses so much of the original text in trite ways, and so many situations and statements, that it sometimes reads like a High School writing exercise. (I'm not commenting on her general writing style, but the way she takes much of the original text and merely tweaks the ending to fit her own specific scenes and dialog.)

All in all, she says some good things, and I definitely admire her inspiration. I just found the end product to be a bit questionable.

I enjoyed it. It felt less like a magical tale and more like a self-help book than the original, however.

I remember reading the little prince when I was in fifth grade and I didn't really understand anything and even watching the movie I didn't really like it. when I saw this book on my friend shelf she really wanted me to read so I said why not, its a really small book but in my opinion really bad. it's really useless I understand wanting to do a sequel but she lot track, it was so confusing and It didn't make sense. I was never a fan of little prince and never understood why people liked it but now I have a reason not to like it.

My heart broke this day. This book was awful. I could write paragraph after paragraph about how the author did such an injustice against the description of problems, heartaches, loss, depression, and general sadness. It was just so... wrong. Nothing about the return of the prince felt right and that broke my heart.

This squeal should have never been written.

Is it just me or did it feel more like a self-help/inspirational book rather than magical? It felt like a very tepid book and I struggled to finish it.

... The story of the little prince as an older boy who came back to his planet after he had traveled to the many planets and carried the baggage of memoirs of friendship amongs his friends on earth. Because of his nostalgia and griefs he has felt on his planet, he decides to seek the answers on the world he has been yearning for once again....

This book stuffs with lots of philosophical concepts of the way of living. Comparing to 'the little prince', the ideas are more straightforword through the deep conversations between two characters from the view of a human who carry the prince along his journey.

I felt related with many situations mentioned in the story such as the sorrow for the roses, sheep and grass of the young prince who feel desparated and difficult to move on but finally free himself and get lesson along his journey.
Meanwhile, there are concept that I'm 95% agree with like 'There's only one way of changing the world, and that's by changing yourself.' For me, we cannot predict and control anything outside of ourselves. We think that the world change is because our perspective of the world changed. We can not guarantee any responses from others as we wish eventhough change ourselves. But, I still agree that if we better alter something than solve problem with the same solution and expect the different results.

I rarely give 3 star ratings. I had to do this for this book for the following reason. The original work of Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince, ends with the author's longing for the little prince's return; when a publisher fulfills that wish by using another author, the result is a sequel like this one. I shall refrain from making any further comments, but I wish the original author's sacred legacy were respected.

The Little Prince is my fav book of all time and although it was nice to somewhat revisit it with this “sequel” it all ultimately felt off to me. It lacked the subtle, deep, magical, simplicity that makes the little prince so wonderful. Also, if you have to explain the lesson you’re trying to convey you’re doing something wrong. And god?????!!!

I don’t think words can explain how much this book impacted me, seemly a child’s book but really a philosophical reflection on the what typically would be seen as the mundane in life. It honestly changed the way I approach curiosity:)

The book makes you imagine so many things as well as think about the controversy topics.

Felt more like a confusing self help book and not the magical tale of before. Like it wasn't a sequel, she just uses the Little Prince as a celebrity cameo.

I don't think the little prince needed a sequel. Although this book had some pretty strong points on values and problem solving, there were alot of problems I couldn't get around. The translation was a bit off and the story was so dragging and slow that it was a neutral read.
