Joey Yap's Art of Face Reading: Unmask the Secrets of Your Personality and Destiny

Rate this book
Chinese face-reading, or Mian Xiang, is a form of physiognomy, or the observation of appearances. This ancient technique reveals not only a person's true character, but also his or her fortune, luck and talents. "Joey Yap's Art of Face-Reading" is a brilliant introduction to this powerfully accurate art. In this illuminating guide, bestselling author and master trainer Joey Yap explains how the face is essentially a map of our destiny and luck. With detailed illustrations, he presents the '100-year map' of the face, or the 100 points that govern a person's fortune and luck from the age of 1 to 100. He also unlocks the areas of the face known as Officers and Palaces, which tell us about a person's character, future challenges, obstacles and talents in life - along with other facial features such as moles, which Joey explains how to identify and interpret. With this guide, you will learn to use face-reading to examine your own life stages and destiny, and those of others, at a glance.

No es lo que yo esperaba de este libro, ya que trata sobre el arte de adivinación a través del rostro, yo buscaba un libro sobre el significado de los gestos. Pero está todo super bien explicado y se apoya con imágenes y ejemplos.

I bought this on sale for $2.99 which is the only reason I'm not more disappointed. I do believe wholly in the concept of linking personality and life experience with facial features. We can all spot a shifty person by their eyes, or recognize that someone with an undershot chin is probably timid and passive, or that someone with very thin lips might not be the most emotional of men. I took a lot of issue though, with this book's position that sun damage, facial moles, and scars are "unlucky" and cause for concern. According to Joey Yap someone with visible nose hair, who trims away the hair, will begin to prosper financially.

All in all it was an interesting read, and for three bucks it makes a good conversation piece for the coffee table. Not what I would call convincing, though.

Definitely one of the best physiognomy books I've ever come across.
