When it comes to relationships, talk show host Grace Fisher won’t stand for cheating—especially not from her fiancé, star hockey goalie Zack Hoolihan. Her weekly knitting group backs her up when she calls it off, but it doesn’t entirely ease the sting of betrayal. She won’t listen to Zack’s indignant explanations of innocence—she just wants to tie up loose ends and move on. Until he winds up injured, that is, and she finds herself playing nursemaid … Zack doesn’t know how that woman got into his hotel room, but he does know losing Grace has put him so far off his game, he ended up with a busted knee and a broken heart. If things aren’t mended fast, he’ll miss the playoffs, miss his girl, and lose everything. But if Grace is willing to push him into physical therapy, maybe he can pull her back into his arms—before their truce unravels. This time, he’ll do everything it takes to knit their relationship back together…
USA Today bestselling author Heidi Betts is the daughter of an Arabian sheik and a Las Vegas showgirl, as well as the heiress to the Chocolate is Better Than Sex Candy Company fortune. Because of this, she eats chocolate in all its many delicious forms for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and in-between snacks . . . without ever gaining an ounce on her perfect five-foot-nine, size zero figure.
Each and every one of her breathtaking, award-winning novels has been adapted to film and gone on to become a phenomenal box office smash, featuring such mega-stars as Hugh Jackman and Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts, and Harrison Ford and Charlize Theron.
Heidi readily admits that she is only able to write such passionate love stories because of her real-life happily-ever-after romance with superstar actor Dwayne Johnson, who makes every day a fairy tale. When she’s not writing or making hot, toe-curling love with her “Rock” of a husband, Heidi can often be found riding naked on horseback (a la Lady Godiva) along the beaches of Malibu or hobnobbing with the rich and famous on Martha’s Vineyard.
If you’d like to experience your own perfect, idyllic life just like Heidi Betts, be sure to take the little purple pill. (Not the red one. Never the red one.)

Zack “Hot Legs” Hoolihan might be the star goalie for the Cleveland Rockets, but he’s been in a bit of a funk ever since his fiancée dumped him after a big misunderstanding that involved finding a puck-bunny in his hotel room. Grace refused to listen to or believe Zack’s explanation and innocence, and he was a bit apprehensive about pushing harder for reconciliation after she went all ‘Angela Bassett “Waiting to Exhale” woman scorned’ on him, by damaging his shiny red Hummer, throwing his prized hockey trophy through a wall, trashing his clothes, and stealing his beloved St. Bernard Bruiser.
Months later, Grace has moved on but Zack still misses her like crazy, and to make things worse, it’s affecting his performance on the ice. As if things aren’t bad enough, a bad collision leaves Zack with a busted knee and possibly a future without hockey...or Grace. Now he’s lonely, depressed, missing his dog, hooked on junk food, eating too many cheese doodles, and addicted to soap operas. His best pals Dylan and Gage can’t get through to him, so they guilt Grace into playing nursemaid. Zack and Grace are both determined to keep things platonic, but the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to resist old times and their past attraction, lust, and feelings.
I really enjoyed this, and it’s a total laugh out loud riot! I loved sweet, sexy Zack, and his internal thoughts, especially when Grace first played nurse, and he and Grace’s battle over Bruiser/Muffin had me falling off the couch with laughter! There were also a few romantic, tender moments when Zack revealed some significant things to Grace that brought a few tears to my eyes. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves contemporary romance with hot jocks, reunited lovers theme, and lots of humor! 5 stars!
Knock Me for a Loop is the third book in the Chicks with Sticks trilogy, and there is some back story on Zack and Grace in the previous book, Loves Me, Loves Me Knot, but I think enough is recapped in this for it to work okay as a stand-alone read. Although, I really enjoyed and recommend Loves Me, Loves Me Knot, too!
Here are some funny Zack-isms/lines that I loved:
**********Possible laughs/spoilers**********
“It made him feel like less of a man. And given how much less of a man he’d felt the past several weeks, that was really saying something. He was surprised someone from the Man Club hadn’t come by to revoke his dick and balls.”
“Bad enough that getting turned on when he had nothing more than a bath towel to hide it would make the condition kind of hard to miss, but getting turned on in front of his ex-fiancee was akin to smearing honey on his junk and walking into grizzly territory.”
“The Howard Hughes thing hadn’t actually sounded like such a bad deal until about...oh, eight thirty-five this morning. Something about having his ex carry him to the bathroom and help him wash his balls just took all the fun out of becoming an eccentric recluse.”
“Then he’d met Grace. No, not just met her, fallen balls over brains in love with her.”
Hani böyle kötü zamanlar için kenara ayırdığınız kitaplar yazarlar vardır. Ne bekleyeceginizi ve ne alabileceğinizi bilirsiniz. Bu yazar benim için öyle. Uzun zamandır kötü günleri bekleyen seri son kitabım beni yine hayal kırıklığına uğratmadı. Sadece serinin bitmesi kalbimi azıcık sızlattı 🤧
Enjoyable conclusion to trilogy but not as good as the first two.
After Grace visits her hockey finace, Zack, at a hotel and finds a naked women in his bed she dumps him and trashes his home, his Hummer and takes his Saint Bernard. She is very stubborn and won't listen to the numerous calls, texts, cards, etc from Zack saying he would never cheat on her and he has no clue how the puck bunny got in his room. This is just a tad hard to believe because you can see how devoted Zach is to Grace and you would think she would know he would never do that to her. I mean, would he have opened the hotel door to begin with?
Months go by and Zach gets badly injured in a game and starts to mope around the house and not attend physical therapy and goes into a deep funk. His friends get to the point where they don't even want to be around him. This leads to them subletly urging Grace to check on him and whip him back into shape. She does....she just happens to still have a key and walks back in with the dog and proceeds to promise to severely hurt him where it would hurt if he doesn't do what she says. Again, just a bit unreal but ok.
The sparks still are there and thankfully Grace finally gets over being so darn stubborn about the hotel room situation. This book is not as steamy as the first two b/c it is more of a rekindling story. No big action until close to the end of the book. Overall though, still a good story, just not as great as the first two. You do get to see Ronnie and Jenna (from the previous two books) often too and get some closure on them as well which was great. I am looking forward to more books from Heidi Betts though, she did become and autobuy for me with this series.
Heidi Betts'in yazdığı 'Bir Yumak Aşk' okundu, bitti.
Zavallı Zack, Grace'in kaçırdığı köpeğini o halde gördükten sonra yaşadığı şok okunmaya bedeldi. :-)
Kitabı sevdim. Kurgusunu beğendim. Bir kaç devrik cümleye rastladım, düşündüğümün aksine bunlar beni pek etkilemedi. Fakat yumak yerine sürekli yün çilesi/çile kelimeleri kullanılmış. Tuhafıma gitti. Yazarın dilinden ve/veya çevirisinden kaynaklı... Her neyse bence olmamış.
Şimdi durum şu : 1- Grace, Zack'i öldürmek isterken ve her an öldürebilecekken iyileşmesi için çabalamaktadır. 2- Zack ihanet etmemiştir. İhanet etmedim demektedir. Tek sorun; Grace'e bunu inandırmak zorundadır. Şimdi... Kitapta neler oldu dersiniz. Okuyun görün derim. :-) :-)
This book is miss for me. It seems outdated somehow: references to Slim Fast, not funny and unnecessary “manly” gay jokes, not using GPS to find hotel – all of that places the time of this book in the late nineties, not in the 2010. The whole bit with stilling the dog I find quite distasteful and cruel.. The author probably doesn’t have a dog and cannot understand that you cannot take a dog without a fight from the owner. Zack did not do anything to get his dog back and that I don’t believe for a minute. There are funny one liners through the book , but they are lost in the sea of misery (Zack), angst (Zack), rage (Grace), and boredom (reader).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I had high hopes for Knock Me for a Loop, the final book in this trilogy by Heidi Betts and three women who love to knit. Much beloved talk show host Grace Fisher and her former fiancé, star hockey goalie for the Cleveland Rockets, Zack “Hot Legs” Hoolihan made quite the impression on the last book, Loves Me, Loves Me Knot mainly because the way Grace reacted when she found a hockey groupie in Zack’s hotel room. She went ballistic, thinking he cheating on her, even though Zack denied it to the skies. I was very interested in seeing if these two would work things out and get back together, but in Knock Me For a Loop, I found Grace and Zack to have no chemistry and their interactions were beyond dull. Zack has a major Pete Pan complex and is a slob, while Grace is the total opposite. Unfortunately these two don’t have enough of an interesting attraction to one another, and by the middle of the book I was close to giving this the good old label of DNF (do not finish).
Grace as a woman scorned was exactly what I enjoyed about her character. She refuses to be walked all over even though Zack has begged and pleaded with her that he is innocent. And when Zack has a very bad accident on the ice and hurts his leg, he feels his life is over. He misses Grace desperately and soon eats and drinks his sorrows away. He doesn’t even have his trusted dog, Bruiser for support, who Grace stole, renamed Muffin and dresses in pink sweaters and booties she has knitted. While Zack spends his days watching soap operas, eating junk food and secretly knitting, his two best guy friends are sick of seeing him this way. Grace does still care for Zack and against her better judgment, tries to help him get back on his feet again. She even moves in with him, which Zack thinks is a great sign for their future. But Grace still feels she can’t trust Zack. These two begin to talk, and become friends again. Zack wants to take their friendship to next level and have her back as his lover and fiancé. But Zack needs to grow up and come clean with her and show that he isn’t a cheater and does respect Grace, so much so that he may even let her in on his new knitting hobby.
Knock Me for a Loop should have been a sexy and fun read about former lovers reuniting, but because the action and interactions between Zack and Grace were very low key and again no convincing displays of attraction between the two, I found myself very bored. I am not a big one for flashbacks, but in this case, I would have liked to see a few of these scenes of when Grace and Zack first met, their courtship and eventual engagement. We are told that these two really heated up the sheets when they were a couple, but there was no inclination to this fact, even when Grace decides to give into her sexual frustrations and have that one night to remember with Zack. Why just one night? Grace is still convinced that Zack was a low down dirty dog and slept with a hockey bunny. Only when Zack does something drastic, and perhaps if he had done this action from the beginning, then there would no drama and upheaval in both their lives, does Grace change her mind. But then we wouldn’t have a story and this very profound moment is supposed to fit because isn’t until the very end, giving out lovers their happily ever after.
This was a major miss for me and I was wishing for a bit more. Lack of passion and the mundane personalities of Zack and Grace left much to be desired.
Hikayemiz bu olayı Zack'in dilinden anlatarak başlıyor.. Onlar mutlu olduya..hele o son sahne..Zack'in umut etmeye bile korkması.. Güzeldi..Ben sevdim..Seri böylece bitti işte.. yazarın tarzını sevdim ben, kitabın kapaklarıysa ayrı güzeldi.. Burdan yayınevine duyrulur..Yazarın diğer kitaplarınıda okumak isteriz..
Knock Me For a Loop is the first book that I read from the trilogy Chicks with Sticks. But it still and will definitely work as a stand alone novel.
The storyline was promising but I think that it has some really boring parts that all I did was just skimmed it to get to the good one.
Grace and Zach were engaged but not long after Grace caught a girl in Zach's bed in one of the road games of Zach's hockey team. She stormed out of the room and called their relationship quits before Zach got the chance to explain - he had no idea how the chick in the bed got there, and he didn't not even know her, and most especially he didn't do her.
Months after, Zach is still in the moping stage and it affected his game leading him to have a really serious injury in his knee that made Grace go back in his life, only to take care of him and get him back to his feet. They may be all civil with each other after what happened but they can't deny the attraction is still there and Zach knows there is much more, too.
Even though I definitely like the emotional scenes in here most especially Zach's, I think it wasn't enough to make me love this one. I just hoped that there was something more that would make me swept me off my feet.
What I like: * Zach's emotional speech * Muffin, err.. Bruiser the dog * the secondary characters
"You're going to have to decide for yourself what kind of man you think I am."
Did not finish. Awful book. Got a quarter in and really tried to keep reading, because I rarely never not finish a book, but just couldn't. I could not relate to the heroine of the book, she was just awful. Usually the author provides background context of someone acting so poorly, but Grace just seemed like your stereotypical attractive bitch. She seemed a little bit selfish by always thinking of herself in a "poor me" way and very self-centered. What kind of person, jumps to conclusions, gets super aggressive, trashes their ex boyfriend's stuff, steals their dog and bad mouths them in front of media? It's just horrible. I just could not relate to her. If anyone else does manage to get to the end of the book, I sure hope there's some serious grovelling on her part. And also side note, knitting to get back an ex-girlfriend who has psychotic tendencies just seemed too cheesy and cringe worthy.
Grace'in tutarsız davranışları , Zack'in sakatlığının bitmez tükenmez uzaması , sıktı da sıktı.
Ayrıca şu aralar Historcal mode:ON, Contemporary mode:OFF olmayaydım iyiydi.
Heyecan sifir.Dediğim gibi serinin ilk iki kitabini gözüm kapalı tavsiye ederim fakat son kitabı için aynı şeyi söylemeyeceğim. Üzgünüm....
I enjoyed this... really! But honestly, what I just don't get is Grace. As to how she didn't trust Zack early on. Why she doesn't listen to his explanations and all. Why it took so long for her to realize that he was telling the truth all along. I don't even remember if it was explained why she was so untrusting. I kind of like the ending though.. Hahaha.. and sometimes, it's really nice when it's the other way around that's wooing the other. :)
Kitap boyunca Zack'e hep üzüldüm durdum.
Hele Dylan, Gege ve Zack'in The Penalty Box'da toplandığı bölümleri okurken aralıksız kahkahalar attım.
‘Knock Me for a Loop’ by Heidi Betts published in 2010 The book has been on my to-read book list for a while, but I hadn’t found it in my library or e-book abonnements for free. Spending money on books I might not like is not something I do. I usually spend money only books I have read before and that are in my all-time favorites. *Spoilers ahead. My first thought when I started to read the book and got to Zack's POV was ‘What the hell?’. I’m still disappointed and angry about the hotel room dream scene as it nearly made me put down the book. It was badly written and unrealistic, not that the rest of the book was realistic, but still... Like whom would believe that you did not notice a halfway naked woman in your bed or that you did not close the door. The girlfriend needs to be let in, but the intruder got herself inside? Another thing, that put me off was there was too much knitting in the book. Jocks knitting? Of course, it is completely natural because their girlfriends do it. It doesn’t happen in real life!!! True love year- give it to me! I also want it, especially if it soft. I have plans to knit a nice scarf for myself this year. Back to the review, crazy girlfriend who doesn’t believe your weird story at first (but she ends up believing, like always) and destroys the apartment and the car, steals the dog and no charges for her, because he loves her and is thankful it was his apartment and not him. Why would somebody want to get back together with somebody like that? Like it happens in most books some tragic happens and they are thrown back together. Yarn has nothing to do with it. Hero, Zack, had an accident during hockey game. His leg got broken and he received head trauma. He ended up being in wheelchair without being motivated to get out of it. Instead, Zack started to knit and watch soap operas. After a month of not during rehabilitation and sending away friends Grace is guilted into helping. She gets him to clean up and go to doctor. Grace has dressed up Saint Bernard for a visit to Zack in pink tutu and booties. Grace also changed dogs name from Bruiser to Muffin. Then she moves in to ‘help’. Grace becomes housewife, cleaner and some other things and she deep down she feels happy about it. The logic is off in the book. So, then they decide to pretend they are a couple for Insides Out underwear company. After that there were few chapters I wanted to skip. (but I didn’t. In a hotel room on the way to New York she realizes Zack knowns more about knitting than she does. Ain’t it wonderful? After Zack’s confession about knitting, they end up having sex, because it just natural. In one of the stops to New York Grace meets Zack's family. Patty his father’s wife turned out to be gold digger. After New York trip Grace asks for a little bit of time, but what Zack decides to do, after everything Grace did for him, move on. Yeah, MOVE ON! Then Grace to chase they guy, and they get back together. Charlotte a knitting friend of Grace thinks that her love yarn is the one that got Grace and Zack back together. Yeah, right, Grace forgot that yarn in her knitting bag for months... Charlotte scenes were good and a little bit cheesy, but what you expect from true love yarn making old lady with no sense how to dress. Overall, the book was good 3 with minus stars (probably). It had a lot of potential, but I’m disappointed by it. There were some places I laughed, but most of it bored me. The writing could have been way worse. It’s a light read. Will I read the other books? Maybe, but I will try another Heidi Betts book just to make sure.
“Amazing” Grace Fisher and Zack “Hot Legs” Hoolihan have been practically inseparable since their first chance meeting. However, everything changed when Grace surprised Zack in his hotel room one night and found another woman in his bed! (see Loves Me, Loves Me Knot) Zack swore his innocence but Grace, furious and heart broken, went straight to her friends in her knitting group for solace.
Fast forward several months…
Grace and Zack are through but poor Zack is so miserable since Grace trashed his Hummer, his apartment, and stole his dog. Unable to concentrate on anything, a random accident on the ice has Zack severely injured and too depressed to do much about it, convinced his hockey career will never be the same. Only Grace has what it takes to bring him out of his funk. Now they are together in forced proximity for the length of his recovery and their mutual attraction still sizzles. Now Grace is wondering how Zack still has the ability to “Knock Me for a Loop” in love.
I went back and forth as I was reading between praising Grace for sticking to her guns in her belief Zack cheated on her, and wanting to smack her for being so darned stubborn. I think my reaction was pretty representative of Grace herself as well. She is so hurt about Zack’s believed betrayal that all she can think about is making him hurt as much as she did. Yet, as the story progresses and Zack’s story never changes she starts to remember everything she loved about him and wants to believe him in his claims of innocence. Naturally, this causes for some extreme tension and conflict between the two as they spend so much time together during Zack’s convalescence and recovery.
Zack is one to melt a girl’s heart so it’s no wonder Grace can’t resist him. He’s the strong and sexy type, highly successful in his hockey career… and madly in love with Grace. When she believes the worst of him, he is just as heartbroken as Grace, being lost without her shining light in his life. His depression is increased by the fact that Grace stole his St. Bernard, Bruiser, renamed him Muffin, and proceeded to attempt turn him into a sissy dog with all the pink sweaters with matching booties she’s knitted for him.
One thing that can’t be denied no matter what misunderstandings there are between Grace and Zack, is that they still have a lot of pent up attraction to one another or they wouldn’t be wondering so much how each one has managed to Knock Me for a Loop. Readers can look forward to plenty of humor filled minutes as they curl up with this good book and read from beginning to end.
Heidi Betts has a way of writing highly sensual, greatly amusing stories that lure you into the story and keep you prisoner until the story is finished. Knock Me for a Loop is a wonderful example of this skill. Her slogan for the series “a funny, sexy yarn” fits perfectly. Knock Me for a Loop is a laugh riot with some megawatt sensuality between former lovers Grace and Zack. Of course, a little bit of magic never hurts and Charlotte is back, weaving her own spell with her spinning wheel to help these reluctant lovebirds find happiness again.
Her şey iyi gitmeye başlar…
When it comes to relationships, talk show host Grace Fisher won’t stand for cheating—especially not from her fiancé, star hockey goalie Zack Hoolihan. Her weekly knitting group backs her up when she calls it off, but it doesn’t entirely ease the sting of betrayal. She won’t listen to Zack’s indignant explanations of innocence—she just wants to tie up loose ends and move on. Until he winds up injured, that is, and she finds herself playing nursemaid …
Zack doesn’t know how that woman got into his hotel room, but he does know losing Grace has put him so far off his game, he ended up with a busted knee and a broken heart. If things aren’t mended fast, he’ll miss the playoffs, miss his girl, and lose everything. But if Grace is willing to push him into physical therapy, maybe he can pull her back into his arms—before their truce unravels. This time, he’ll do everything it takes to knit their relationship back together… ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Charlotte had made a special yarn for Grace a few months after Grace and Zack broke off their engagement...Seeing Grace so sad was not helping Charlotte at all, so Charlotte decided to make the special yarn for Grace and when Grace uses it to make something, her life will be filled again later on with love....
Grace came to Zack's hotel to visit Zack, and when she was in his hotel room with him she looked towards the bed and saw, another woman? Zack was glad to see grace and when Zack found out another woman was on his hotel bed, he was definately surprised...How the heck did the woman get into his hotel room?and how did she even get there? Grace thinks the wrong idea and runs out of the hotel furious. Dylan and Gage-two of Zacks closest male friends When Zack gets hurt later on, Grace decides to go to Zacks place and be his "nurse" until he gets better.and to bring the dog that she stole from him to visit him for awhile also. When an offer is told to Grace that says that she has to be together together with Zack in order for her to take the offer(charity, millions of $s....recognization), the offer turns out to be too hard to decline. Zack and Grace decide to pretend to be a couple, and after they get the money and all that other good stuff done, they would "fake break-up" in public. There is a funny part in this book where Zack finds out that Grace got a piercing on her belly button and he was all like oh shit!xD Grace and her friends find out that Jenna is pregnant with gage's baby. Ronnie is dating Dylan. Later on Grace and Zack go on a trip to New york to meet up with the people, and they go by car because of Zacks legs...so it would be just them alone for days with their dog, and going from hotel to hotel. alls in wells ends well.... Grace proposes to Zack, Dylan proposes to Ronnie, Jenna and Gage happy and will be parents soon...everythings great! Charlotte's job as a godfairy has its ups, and shes glad that she tested her spin-the-wheel romance yarn on Jenna,Ronnie, and Grace. #9494

Knock Me for a Loop is the enjoyable third book in a trilogy by Heidi Betts. It definitely worked as a stand alone novel as I have not yet read the first two. It centers around the rekindling romance between fabulous talk show host Grace Fisher and her ex-fiance and star hockey player, Zack Hoolihan. Apparently, in the previous novel, Grace stumbles upon one very naked "puck bunny" in her beloved's hotel room. Not cool. So what does she do? She dumps his sorry butt and trashes his home. She even has the gall to take his Saint Bernard. Now, I don't really condone all this silly business- it makes our lovely lady a little annoying. I mean, come on, take the high road. But! We all have our weaknesses, so I won't fault her that. ;] Grace is determined, hot headed and will not let a man walk all over her. I love a woman scorned. Now, don't think for one second that our slobarific athlete didn't deny the situation. Zack pleaded, called and text Grace until the cows came home that he didn't do anything, he has no idea what the puck bunny was doing in his hotel room. Hmm..? Likely story!
After months of being separated, Zack gets badly injured during a game. He sends himself into a deep depression, missing his physical therapy, not getting out of the house... something needs to be done. Now that his friends are feeling guilty and don't want to be around him- they encourage Grace to check in on him. Turn him into the old Zack. Skeptical, she does it. She even brings the dog back. It is nice to witness Grace rebuilding her trust in Zack even though he has a lot of growing up to do. There is an undeniable spark between Grace and Zack as they rekindle their love, but there wasn't as much chemistry as I was hoping for. The book also wasn't as *steamy* as I had anticipated after reading reviews for the first two books. That didn't take away from the story, just would have added to it. ;] No real action until nearing the end of the book, but this was still a sexy, sassy story. Rating this only a 3.5 though I have heard from others that the first two books are even better and I will be adding those to my TBR pile. I absolutely adored the author's writing style, it was easy to glide through. Quick, refreshing read- and isn't the cover absolutely adorable? I love her covers for this series. Not to mention the title is fun too!
Ama Zack’in kendisini bırakması ve sürekli Grace’i düşünmesi ona aşık olduğunu içten içe kabullenmesi kitabı gülümseyerek okumama neden oldu.
I finished reading this book while we were driving back from Denver. I really enjoyed it and felt it was a nice conclusion to Betts’s knitting triology. This story followed the tumultuous relationship between Grace Fisher and Zack Hoolihan. As we learned from the last book, Grace caught Zach in a compromising position with a hockey fan (aka – “puck bunny”) and ended up tearing apart his apartment and ultimately stealing his dog, Bruiser.
I won’t go into the details of the story, because of the three stories, this one was my favorite. I literally couldn’t put this book down until the end. Grace is one of those characters that is so perfect that sometimes you secretly want bad things to happen to her, but she’s such a good friend and is so motivated by her job and doing things better that it’s actually hard not to like her. I also didn’t like Zach in the earlier books because he seemed too cocky and sure of himself. This book definitely took him down to a more meaningful level to me and I really enjoyed his side of the story. I think that’s actually one of the things I like best about Betts; she tells the story from multiple perspectives and gives you the internal scoop.
I’m antsy for the next book that Betts publishes. She’s a great author to check out if you like Elaine Fox, Rachel Gibson or Christie Ridgway. She’s really into knitting, too, so if you want to learn some fun new patterns, check out the back of her books for directions on the projects she discusses in the books.
So far I am really enjoying this novel. It is very romantic and interesting. I will definitely write more reviews for it. :-)
Okay, now that I have finished the book today, I can review more of it.This is about the mushy and wonderful romance between Grace Fisher, TV show host and her fiancee' Zack, the Rocket's hockey goalie. She immediately believes he's cheated on her when she sees that there is a barely covered woman in his hotel room bed. Through most of the book he is pleading that he would never and never had cheated on her. This novel is about how they try to resolve their relationship after he breaks his entire leg during hockey, not the best game or feeling on top of the ball. :-( I was giggling and smiling through most of the book.
I warn you there are graphics in in a big chunk of the middle.
Once again I will say this- In books I really like, I get frustrated and mad, happy and giggly, and jumpy. This was one of those fun, and easy to get into and understand books.
I enjoyed this story and I'm not usually a big fan of second chance stories. I liked all the characters and will need to go hunt up the first two books to learn more about the others. I also really liked the subplot with poor Brusier/Muffin and the whole playing nurse thing.
I really felt bad for Zach most of this book and while I understand what Grace saw was convincing, you'd think a little reflection
I really enjoyed the actual romance here, but everything to do with the dog drove me nuts. In real life, I'd have no time for someone who put a Saint Bernard in a pink coat and knitted boots, let alone painted its nails, so every time this was mentioned, I wanted to bang my head against a wall. I know it was supposed to be funny, but it just made me wonder was stupid or just lacking any sense of taste.
And the magic yarn was completely unnecessary. Mercifully, it didn't play a significant role in the body of the story, and just felt like a cutesy conceit tacked onto the beginning and end.
