I promised myself I would finish this book this year and I did, just under the wire!
While curious and open minded about chakras, I admit I'm probably not the intended audience of this book. I did find it a touch woowoo, particularly in the chapters on the brow and crown chakras. That being said, there were many parts of this book that evoked an intuitive understanding within me, which was pleasantly surprising.
I did enjoy learning about the Chakra system as a framework for better understanding and working with my mind and body. I also found it really interesting how much overlap there is between the chakras and Maslow's hierarchy of needs, considering how widely accepted the latter is in society versus the former.
It was interesting too to read about the extrapolation of the Chakra system from the individual body to personal relationships, social evolution, and childrearing.
Overall, this book gave me a lot to think about. I'll try to incorporate some of the yoga exercises into my life and see how that feels for me.
