Diary Of A Wimpy Kid meets Twilight, this book documents the life of Nigel Mullet, a vampire who’s been fifteen for the past 85 years. That, for him, means he’s eternally caught in the throes of puberty, with no escape from acne.
This book is an absolute hoot, and I giggled so much that I drew weird looks from people around me. Initially the writing felt choppy, till it occurred to me that it’s supposed read like the diary of a teenager, whiny and faux-angst ridden. I loved reading it!
The cherry on top was the subtle but constant digs at Twilight. As someone who just finished reading Twilight for the fifth time last week (and yet unable to rate it higher than 1.5 stars), this was the perfect reaction book. Like for example, Nigel has a girlfriend named Chloe who’s obsessed with immortality, and there’s a new boy in town named Jackson who seems to have somethingwolfishy about him.
I really really hope I can get my hands on the sequel!

I sat in the bookstore and read the entire book, constantly laughing out loud. I probably disturbed the book club ladies who were discussing some brilliant piece of literature, but I couldn't help myself. Even after reading the entire book, I almost bought a copy to show my appreciation for the writer's brilliant work, but I am currently in a save-not-spend mode. (Sorry, Mr. Collins!) I will however be putting it on the library system's purchase list. And I will probably someday become a proud owner of this book. I am highly recommending it for upper elementary, all of middle school, and maybe even some high school students. Guys should especially enjoy it, but I can picture a lot of girls liking it, too. (Particularly those who are sick of vampires being sexy!) This is awesome stuff. I can't wait to read Nigel's next adventure.

Neste segundo volume da trilogia do "Vampiro Banana", o autor apresenta-nos um Nigel um pouco diferente daquele que conhecemos no volume 1.
"Príncipe da Tansilvânia" trás uma imagem um pouco mais clássica das histórias de vampiros... Nigel, o vampiro banana, finalmente conseguiu consquistar uma miúda, e não é uma miúda qualquer, é a Chloe, a humana de que ele tanto gostava. Com esta nova relação, Nigel descobre que afinal tem poderes vampíricos e que os consegue utilizar.
Nigel começa a tornar-se mais confiante de si mesmo, e até um pouco de mais.
Mas quando a vida dá uma reviravolta que ele não está a espera volta a ser aquele vampiro patético que era antes de ter começado a namorar com a Chloe.
Mas porque será que volta tudo ao ínicio!?
Bem isso já é mais complicado de explicar.. mas tentemos:
1º - A Chloe está obcecada com vampiros (de esperar!!!!)
2º - Aparece um novo elemento na família do Nigel («O Avô!!») , que só lhe está a dificultar a vida
3º - Entra um novo aluno na escola, que consegue tirar o Nigel do sério e que lhe vai causar uns quantos problemas
4º - Chloe termina relação com o Nigel e este fica deprimido
5º - Voltam os poemas do Nigel
Como podem ver muito mudou, mas a essência patética e banana de Nigel mantêm-se. A diversão continua, os poemas chatos continuam.
Mas o que poderiamos esperar de uma vampiro banana????
A Minha pontuação para este livro é de 3 estrelas..... mantém-se o nível de pontuação do anterior :P

In the beginning,Nigel has his powers and him and Cloe get together.Its the beginning of the school year n Nigel couldn't wait to see Chloe again.Nigel is a vampire n Chloe is a mortal.when Nigel gets to school he sees this new kid with sorta like potato shaped head.Chloe has been reading these vampire novels n hoping that Nigel can transform her into a vampire so the can be together forever.Nigel has this little diary that he uses every day since hes going to live for ever.In the middle,Chloe tries to force Nigel to turn her into a vampire by cutting his arm while hes drinking her blood.when Nigel leaves because her miss behavior Chloe rights a not say there over and Chloe n Jason gets to gather and every thing goes back to bad so now Jason and Nigel are in a competition.i already told you most of the book so your gonna have to read it to know it.I recommend this book to people who like love and vampire book.

na verdade este livro foi mais irritante q o primeiro (a chloe é bué chata na primeira metade e dps temos o nosso rival jason - mas n se iludam q o nigel tb é mt atoa). NO ENTANTO é até bastante engaging sobretudo por introduzir outra espécie sobrenatural e ser toda uma questão de rivalidades + o surgimento do "avô" e de outros vampiros. anyways.... eu sinto-me muito com 13 anos once again oq está a ser bastante terapêutico. bisous V^^^^V

Aku suka Nigel yang ini, lebih dewasa di buku kedua.
Cerita Nigel pun lebih seru, lebih menarik dari buku pertama.
Mungkin karena udah ada cerita cinta Chloe juga dibuku ini.

Nigel Mullet kembali!! Apa yang terjadi padanya sekarang? Apakah nasibnya masih seburuk sebelumnya?
Jangan salah,ternyata Nigel telah menjadi siswa populer di sekolahnya setelah mendapatkan kekuatan istimewanya sebagai vampir. Tidak hanya itu ia berhasil menjadikan Chloe Sparrow--gadis yang telah lama ia incar--sebagai pacar. Semenjak itulah hidup Nigel Mullet terasa luar biasa. Ia sering dikelilingi oleh banyak siswi-siswi cantik dan bersinar dalam bidang olah raga karena kekuatannya sebagai vampir. Karena itulah Nigel semakin percaya diri dan tidak segan segan menyebut dirinya sebagai vampir yang tampan dan paling karismatik di muka bumi.
Namun sepertinya kebahagian Nigel tidak berlangsung lama. Jason,anak laki-laki bertubuh besar yang baru pindah ke sekolahnya diam-diam menggeser kepopulerannya. Nigel merasa terancam. Ia pun merasa perlu bertanding diberbagai kompetisi olah raga demi mengembalikan kejayaanya sebagai bintang sekolah. Tapi anehnya Jason sepertinya bukan manusia biasa seperti yang ia sangka. Dia memiliki tubuh yang banyak bulu dan memiliki kekuatan supranatural yang setara dengannya. Hal itu terbukti dari kemenangan Jason yang seimbang dengannya setiap kali mereka berdua bertanding. Bagiamana mungkin itu bisa terjadi?Mungkinkah Jason bukan manusia biasa? lalu siapa dia sebenarnya?
Disamping tekanan dari kepopuleran Jason yang tiba-tiba, Chloe, pacar Nigel semakin membuatnya pusing dengan desakan untuk merubahnya sebagai vampir. Chloe beralasan bahwa ia tidak ingin tersisih dari lingkungan Nigel dan menurutnya memiliki keabadiaan adalah satu-satunya yang diinginkannya saat ini. Nigel merasa Chloe belum memahami segalanya. Tidakkah dia menyadari menjadi makhluk abadi adalah kutukan yang selama ini tidak pernah ia inginkan?Kehausan tanpa darah dan melihat orang terdekat mati sedangkan diri sendiri abadi selamanya. Bukankah itu cukup buruk,eh?
Keesokan harinya, Chloe secara sepihak meminta putus dari Nigel dan memilih Jason sebagai penganti dirinya. Mengetahui itu Nigel syok apalagi ditambah kekuatannya sebagai vampir mendadak hilang membuat keadaannya semakin lama semakin memburuk.
Setelah itu semua tidak perlu waktu lama bagi Nigel untuk menyadari bahwa kehidupannya kini benar-benar berubah seratus delapan puluh derajat. Ia sekarang berada dikehidupannya yang membosankan seperti sedia kala. Tanpa kekuatan dan tanpa Chloe disisinya. Apalagi seorang vampir tua menyebalkan yang mengaku telah diubah oleh ayahnya di Paris akhirnya bergabung sebagai warga baru dan menjadi penguasa yang menginjak-injak haknya di rumah. Nigel pun terpuruk dalam jurang kemalangan. Ia pun berusaha menghibur diri dengan menulis buku (yang kemudian dikirimkan ke penerbit;lalu di tolak.) dan puisi yang menurutnya--lagi-lagi--sebagai mahakarya yang luar biasa..
Berikut adalah satu puisi patah hatinya sukses ia tulis:

Lalu bagaimana tindakan Nigel selanjutnya?berhasilkah ia menguak identitas rahasia yang selama ini ditutup-tutupi oleh Jason? Dan yang terpenting apakah kekuatan dan hubungannya dengan Chloe akan kembali seperti semula?
Unpredictable. Itu kata yang pastinya aku sematkan untuk buku kedua Tim Collins ini. Tidak pernah kuduga akhir kisah Nigel di buku kedua ini akan seperti itu (kamu harus membacanya jika ingin tahu). Ohh, kukira aku bisa meyakinkan diriku bahwa aku adalah seorang cukup jitu dalam memprediksikan akhir kisah di buku, tapi sepertinya buku yang satu ini harus membuatku mengaku kalah.
Collins tidak hanya benar-benar membuat pembaca sulit menebak akhir kisah yang dibuat dalam format diari ini tapi juga membuat plot cerita di buku ini lebih seru ketimbang buku sebelumnya. Cukup banyak konflik menarik dan semua diolah dengan gaya sarkastik yang lucu dan alami. Membacanya alih-alih membuatku bosan, aku malah senyum dan tertawa sendiri tidak jelas.hehehehe Good job, Collins!

I love Vampires as all my readers will know, Nigel however isn't your "typical" vampire. Thankfully he drinks blood and he doesn't sparkle, but he doesn't have the hot, suave, perfectness most vampires have these days. Nigel is your typical dork. He is very sweet and finally snagged himself a girlfriend after eighty, yes eighty years of being single.
This book is hilarious, carries on in the same format as the first book in the series. I reviewed this also. It is in a diary format, written by our main character Nigel Mullet. We follow his ups and downs or his eternal teen years, mainly in the form of feeling sorry for himself. Most of the time this is justified, a man claiming to be his grandfather is on the seen and his girlfriend is acting strange, not forgetting there is a werewolf at school.
Nigel decides to write a paranormal romance book, it's terrible but hilarious. Chloe is a great character and has a lot to go through, which the lovely Nigel will help her with. Jason the werewolf, also makes a welcomed addition to the series. He is a lovable character. They remind me a bit of Twilight's Edward and Jacob. There are so many times I read this book and giggled away, you will too.
I would highly recommend this book to any paranormal, vampire and comedy fans. It's a light and humours read. I can guarantee you will be laughing out loud, well worth picking up. I hope Tim continues to write about Nigel.

This book is about a 100 year old boy named Nigel. He is a vampire. He has a sister,mother,and dad.But he also has a girlfriend named Chloe. It was all going good but then Chloe started going crazy about becoming a vampire but Nigel did not want to change Chloe he only want to drink some of her blood. She tried to force him to change her but he did not want to so Chloe got a knife and cu this hand to put his blood on her neck but it did not happen. So Chloe just broke up with him. Then, in the next book Chloe got a new boyfriend and his name was Jason.But, Nigel started to notice many clues about Jason. They were going out for a couple of days til he broke up with her. So when Nigel found out he wanted to see Chloe so he asked her to go to the Grave yard.When he was there a big ware wolf jumped out and tried to eat him.He was trying to chase it away. But, then he saw something in the woods get up and it was.......My favorite part was when Nigel got his powers back.The part I did not like was when Chloe was starting to go out with Chloe.I think I could recommend this book to kids my age.

Nigel Mullet is a teenage vampire, albeit a wimpy one, and this book is his diary of a school term where he has to suffer all the woes that befall normal (i.e. non-vampires) teenagers such as having a girlfriend and having a petty rivalry with another student.
I haven't read twilight before but others have said this is a parody of that. Nigel does attempt to write a vampire-romance novel and extracts are in the book which I thought did mock how I imagine the Twilight series would be but the overall book I think stands alone on its own.
I have to say that I enjoyed this book. It really did come across as if it were written by a teenager, and all the vampire clichés were in here as well - such as them drinking blood. I think the pictures added extra imagery to the words too.
And the humour - it wasn't overstated or too silly. I thought it was just right. The length of the book was correct as well (with humour it can sometimes wear if the book is too long).
I couldn't really fault it.

PRINCE OF DORKNESS: MORE NOTES FROM A TOTALLY LAME VAMPIRE is a fun, loving book that takes the awkwardness of being a teen boy and the crazy ideas of being a vampire and smashes them together in this totally lame, but hilarious tween/teen cartoonish-novel. This is the second vampirish novel about Nigel who just wants to be happy, have a girlfriend and enjoy his new school year. Instead through the sappy poetry, crafty doodles, and loved crazed, irrational, wild, insensible adventures the reader finds out that Nigel is more of a doer than first believed. Nigel will spying on the new, ubbiercute, hottie, boy and his family; thus, he discovers their werewolf past and with this information he with hopes to win back his true love, Chloe. This book is a bit more grownup then the Wimpy Kid book series, but just as fun since the content is on a middle school level.

Nigel masih dengan kepercayaan dirinya yang agak kelewatan, sekarang mendapatkan saingan. Jason, seorang murid baru yang misterius, tiba-tiba saja mendapatkan perhatian *yang menurut Nigel, seharusnya untuk Nigel*. Selain itu, Nigel mulai merasa terganggu dengan Chloe yang semakin lama semakin menuntut Nigel untuk merubah dirinya menjadi vampir seperti Nigel. Tidak hanya urusan sekolah dan pacar, di rumah pun Nigel harus menghadapi kenyataan datangnya seorang vampir tua yang harus dia panggil "Kakek".
Kalau dibandingkan, saya lebih suka buku kedua ini. Lebih lucu. Sebel sekaligus geli dengan kelakuan Nigel yang pede-nya agak gimana gitu. Dan karakter setiap tokoh menurut saya tampil dengan imbang. Bahkan adiknya Nigel walaupun hanya emndapat porsi muncul yang tidak banyak, terlihat 'hidup'. A light and fun reading.

This book wasn't romantic at all(maybe just a little). You might think it is really romantic but the book was so intense you will always have to read a page and then turn back and read it again.
Well it all starts off with a puny little vampire named Nigel. It was all normal until his girl friend Chloe asks him if he can transform her. Nigel before that has already told Chloe that to transform her he would have to cut himself and then drop some of his blood into one of her. Nigel was smart enough to say no but Chloe keeps insisting and insisting. Then it gets to the point where Chloe invites Nigel over and being Chloe’s boyfriend Nigel happily walked to her house. To his surprise Chloe pounce on him and tries to cut him then get some of his blood. With all his power he pushes Chloe aside and runs home.

I was a little surprised when Xavier asked to read this book, because I didn't think either of the kids liked the prequel (Diary of a Wimpy Vampire, I believe). In any event, if you liked Diary of a Wimpy Vampire, you will probably like this as well, as it was a natural continuation of the trials and tribulations of a whiny teenaged vampire.
We read the "American" version of this book, and I would say that it probably didn't need to be "Americanized", but if it were, the "translator" could have done a better job. Hearing money described in dollars and pounds sterling was a little confusing, especially since it is obvious that Nigil is British. But maybe I am being too critical here.

Our little friend Nigel got himself a girlfriend, and now that his vampire powers are in, he is finally cool. The problem with dating teenage girls though, is they want to be turned, so Nigel is faced with a whole new dilemma: To turn Chloe into a creature of the night, or to keep on postponing it. Hmm, what’s a teenage vampire to do?
The idea for the book was interesting enough to write a sequel. For me the best part was being introduced to Grandpa. He had me laughing more than any other character. But I found the book too long. The images were shortened to the point where I could no longer appreciate them.
I hope the next book will be better.

Luke is a major wimp. He enjoys being a school prefect and studying for his end of year exams. All is going to plan for an A+ pass – until strange things start to happen.
Hair grows on his hands, his bones creak, his teeth suddenly look sharper than usual and the urge to eat raw meat is too strong to deny. What is happening! When he can’t fight the desire to run in the local forest, a stranger approaches him and tells him he can help.

This book talks about a vampire named Nigel lost his love named Chloe because she was upset because he would not turn her in to a vampire . ehen she a makes decision to dump him then she goes right away to jason a werewolf then Nigel finds out he is a wolf. But then Chloe goes and follows jason then gets bit by jason while he transforms then she becomes a wolf . But as soon as Nigel fond out he freaked out because he fond out when a wolf jump on him then running off in the woods then transforming in to .... you just have to read it.

Prince of Dorkness is about a boy who is going through high school, but he's a vampire. His girlfriend always asks him to turn her into a vampire. And there's some new guy in school, Jason and the main character was so jealous of him. This book was unexpected because there was a lot of events that I was not expecting. It was easy to read because it took me at least fifty seconds to read only one page.
Nigel was boring I don't understand why he's a vampire I mean he should go to a vampire school instead. The only thing that I liked about him is that in the middle of the book Nigel finally had time to turn Chloe into a vampire. Chloe was very repetitive because she would always ask Nigel to turn her into a vampire and I'm just like''GIRL STOP ASKING''I wanted to break the book. The thing that sort of like and that sort of hate is that she got turned into a vampire.
The things that I liked in the book was how it was written and how it was drawn. I also liked how the book was funny BUT IM NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE CHARATER'S BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE THEM. Anyways, I kind of liked the drama and thats about it.
This is my time to shine but okay! Ahem I hated Nigel because I'm always saying ''GO TO VAMPIRE PLANET'' and that was what I was confused about.And also I felt like Nigel was so annoyed by Chloe so I'm like ''BOY GO DO WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO''I got crazy for a second. Chloe is fine but she's sooo repetitive and I'm like'' girl go get a job that everybody says CAN YOU REPEAT PLEASE and she's just like you've come to the right place''. Im not that mean. Because of the character's I felt like the book was Mind-numbing( well the book was actually boring so that doesn't really change anything).
In conclusion, I really hated this book It was boring I was really confused actually. So I recommend this book so the people who want boring books that has no action probably no drama or there might be some people who like this book but I'm one of those people who don't like these kind of books. I give this book a One out of Five stars if I could I would do Zero out of Five but sadly I can't.

More like Diary of Whiny Vampire. Part 2
God, why I do this to myself? To suffer?
Yang jelas masih sama kayak pendahulunya, isi diary Nigel masih didominasi dengan ngeluh, ngeluh dan ngeluh. Dan overdramatis. Bedanya disini ditambah Nigel jadi halu dan sedikit megalomaniac setelah kemampuan vampirnya muncul. Hubungan cintanya memang cukup indah, kalau aja Chloe ga minta terus2an diubah jadi vampir. Apa yang tadinya jadi cinta sejati jadi cinta cukuplah sampai disini karena endingnya mereka putus dan kemampuan vampir Nigel hilang lagi. Akhirnya ya...ngeluh terus sampe gue udah capek bacanya, wkwk
Pelajaran berharga dari kisah hidup Nigel mungkin adalah, jangan mengubah manusia menjadi vampir pada saat umur mereka masih sangat muda, karena endingnya bisa jadi seperti Nigel ini. Forever jadi anak SMA nanggung dalam keabadian gelap abadi tak berperi. Sama juga seperti buku pendahulunya, tidak terlalu banyak kejadian yang exciting walau dari segi alurnya sedikit ada peningkatan dari buku pertama yang ga ada kejadian apa - apa, terus baru ada kejadian pas mau abis. Di buku ini alurnya cukup terjaga, ada kejutan2 kecil, ada subplot yang cukup signifikan. Cuma ya sayangnya, semua terkubur di balik keluhan - keluhan Nigel.
Endingnya gue ga merasa buku ini dan pendahulunya itu lucu. Sarkas pun tidak, mungkin apa karena gue udah terlalu tua untuk buku model gini jadi jokenya tak nyambung, hahaha. Walau di halaman terakhir buku ada pengumuman buku 3 coming soon, kenyataannya sampai sekarang ya tidak ada lanjutannya karena penerbitnya keburu RIP. Mungkin memang hal yang bagus, karena kalau mau coba menyiksa diri, silakan baca buku ini dan juga buku 1.
