Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose is a book channeled by Sonia Choquette’s spirit teacher guides, The Three Bishops, as well as Joachim and the Emissaries of the Third Ray. These highly evolved and loving guides work specifically to bring about understanding, direction, and support to all souls so that we may learn to become the creative masters of the life that we’re intended to have on Earth. The guides state that Earth is "soul school," and that we’re here to master 22 basic soul lessons in order to fulfill our purpose. Each lesson is laid out in such a way that anyone—on any level—will be ready to follow the instructions. The guides make it very clear in this book that the timing to learn our soul lessons, open our hearts, and raise our vibration on the Earth plane is now. Negative occurrences will worsen if our energy doesn’t shift and elevate to a more loving plane. We have no time to waste

I previously read and reviewed the author´s “Ask your guides”, which I found to be excellent, and I appreciated the present book too.
The main part of the book was channelled from a group of light beings called the “Emissaries of the Third Ray”.
I must be frank and admit that I did not find the channelled part to be easy to read, especially at first. I found it hard to focus.
We are provided with 22 soul lessons which we all need to learn, and told that we need to pass through four stages of learning for each lesson – student, apprentice, journeyman, and master. We will find that we may have reached different stages in learning the various lessons – in some we may still be a student, while in others we may be approaching mastership, and so on.
Though as I said, I found the channelled material a bit hard to digest, Sonia helps us by providing frequent undemanding and entertaining passages of her own authorship in between the channellings – these divert us with her own edifying experiences with clients and others.
I won´t plough through all 22 soul lessons but will mention a few. The first two are “You are a Divine Immortal Being” and “You are a Co-creator with the Divine”.
We learn that the power to create lies only in the present, in the now. Divine energy flows through us not from us.
We should turn every intention and vision over to our Spiritual Source. Affirm daily: “Higher Self, I leave it to you. I am your faithful servant and open to your way.”
We must follow our inner voice. To connect to its wisdom, we should simply focus on our heart and listen. If the guidance we receive is indeed that of our “Sacred Consciousness”, it will leave us feeling peaceful and rested. Part of our soul´s work is to distinguish between our inner voice and that of our ego.
We need to open our heart, and start by loving ourselves. We should stop loving selectively and recognize the goodness or godliness in all human beings, and honour that divinity in everyone. This is part of our purpose on Earth.
We should close our heart only “under severe circumstances” and for the shortest possible period of time. Pray for support from God, angels, and guides, and forgive those who hurt us.
“An outpouring of pure adoration is the most potent healing vibration on Earth.” When we have an open heart, every obstacle in our life eventually gives way, because nothing in the world can resist this energy indefinitely.
We learn that all that occurs is in divine order at all times. No matter what unfolds, know that our Soul has elected to experience it because of the opportunities it affords for growth.
“In the end, you will all survive, learn, grow, heal, and reunite with your Creator.”
We should meditate actively. “Seriously focusing on a single thought will bring it into manifestation every time.” (I will try this!)
One of the soul lessons is “Love your body”. Never say an unkind word about your body. Love it as it is, care for it and listen to what it needs. Every time you see your reflection, tell yourself “I love you” It can be reshaped into any form you wish.
When a person is faced with a physical difficulty, it represents an opportunity for the spirit to grow. It may be a chance to let go of control.
“Whatever the particular lesson of any handicap, disorder, or chronic --- disease may be, it is a teaching tool chosen by the Higher Self to support its purpose.”
The final soul lesson is “Waste no time”. Most of us can learn from this!
This is another illuminating, well-written book by Sonia Choquette and I recommend that you read it. The next one of hers that I will be getting hold of is “Walking home”, an account of Sonia´s Camino pilgrimage, which I much look forward to reading.
Another great book by Sonia Choquette. It’s divided into 22 chapters or “lessons” and a lot of the book is channelled. It provides helpful ways to ensure our lives on earth are relevant and how we can use universal laws in a way that works best for us. What I particularly liked was how, at the end of each chapter, Sonia makes 3 or 4 suggestions on how to work with the particular lesson, depending on our level of experience in life. I’m going to put the ideas to good use by working on a chapter a week. Really great, practical book that is an easy read but takes time to master!
I love all things spiritual and religious although I never accept anything at face value. However, I am highly skeptical about channeling. Every time I pick up a book about it I tell myself that I will give it another try... then two or three chapters in and I just can't go further. I have three main reasons for this: first, I am always wondering if the message from the spirits are actually just the author's message to begin with; secondly, I am yet to pick up a book like this where the author does not sound condescending; and lastly, I always feel that the best way of getting messages through psychics or mediums are by refusing to answer any question and not even give a nod... If the spirits are talking then they should know without the medium having extra information (though, I acknowledge, I am yet to test this theory).
Soul lessons and Soul Purpose : a channelled guide to why you are here by Sonia Choquette
Soul lessons and Soul Purpose, channelled by author Sonia Choquette, contains 22 soul lessons that provide direct instruction on how to fulfil our Purpose here on Earth. Have you ever wondered why “stuff” happens? According to Soul Lessons, everything happens for a reason, there are no coincidences. Everything that happens (good or bad), and everyone you meet, all provide opportunities for mastering the lessons set out in this book. In fact, this book fell off the shelf in front of me for no apparent reason. I picked it up, flicked through it, and felt compelled to read it. I’m not usually into self-help books but I think that I was meant to read it, not just to take some guidance from it but also so that I could then recommend it to you.
Author Sonia Choquette’s Spirit Guides instructed her to write this guide book so that their message would be available to a wide audience. The Spirits’ main message is that Earth is a ‘Soul School’ and that our purpose for being here on Earth is to learn and master certain teachings. The lessons contained within Soul lessons include: learning to use your own inner creative powers, meditation, the practice of detachment, acceptance of death, embracing life’s little tests, changing negative thought patterns and behaviours, learning to love yourself, and lots more. So it’s pretty much a Self-Help book, but there is stuff in here that I’d forgotten that I knew and it was good to have a refresher. This is a book that you can dip into if you want, or work through from cover to cover. At the end of each chapter you are able to assess yourself in terms of progress as to whether you have mastered the lesson or you still need to work on it. A really good, uplifting read.
Everyone would learn something from this book. It is the most balanced presentation of our source and core issues for growing and purpose in life. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to mature while here as well as make the most of your time on earth.
Quite spiritual and encouraging. I could easily identify where my current growth is and there were specific things mentioned that can be applied to progress.
All points were very important and the 22 lessons straight-forward and honest.
This is a book that I will reference often as I grow and learn!
As individuals, we all have patterns that we lean toward. In pop culture, we’re told this is weakness. But in this book, Choquette makes you see that this is a life lesson for you. She doesn’t endorse repeated mistakes, but affirms that the mistakes you keep making occur to teach you something at the spiritual level. What a beautiful assessment – instead of the pop culture condemnation. Similarly, this book assesses the “why does this keep happening to me,” phenomenon as this is meant to happen to you to make you better.
I was skeptical of her claims that the book was a dictation of her spirit guides, but either way, it was an excellent read!
I fell in love with Sonia Choquettes memoir “Diary of a Psychic”, which lead me to reading “Soul Lessons and Soul Purposes”. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about this book, as much as I hoped I could. I had high expectations for this book, and it did have its interesting bits, but was mostly a boring read that didn’t answer many of my questions, and went on and on in circles about the same things we all know and have Aways known, except maybe using fancier terms. The only reason I kept on reading is because I was waiting for a great revelation, which never came. Sometimes, I had a hard time deciding which level I’m at with each lesson- I feel like I mostly stand between levels. Nevertheless, I’ll try to implement some of the instructions.
This was a life changing book for me. It got me to stop thinking about enlightenment or self evolution as an end point and more of a life process that we move backwards and forwards through. Sometimes we are in a higher place and others, we are more ego centred and struggling with everyday problems. But no matter where you are at, Sonia gives suggestions for how to find peace in that moment and move forward in a positive way.
Thought provoking and entirely game changing book for me. I found this book just when I needed it most and it answered so many questions for me about my purpose on earth, why I go through difficulties, and how I can change my attitude and mindset to surround myself with the people and energy that betters me. Highly recommend.
Great lessons with examples to help you understand where you are in learning each lesson. I have read several of Sonia’s books, of which I have loved, I’m adding this one to my favorites. It’s a great book to come back to and revisit the lessons to see your progress
This is not just another book. It's a tutorial, it is to be studied, not just read. Which is why it took longer than usual for me to finish it. You must read, take notes and practice each lesson. There's so much to learn and ponder over through this enlightening book.
Didn't hold my attention like her other books. I like it when the authentic Sonia voice rings through her books. This is a book channeled from her guides, and I read it, wanting it to be finished. Normally, I want to slow down, do the lessons, and savor a Sonia Choquette book. Disappointed.
This is the third book I've read by Sonia. Her books really resonate with me as someone who was raised not to pay attention to my gut, my intuition or my feelings. These books came along late for me but better late than never. We all have lessons to learn in this life and I was curious to see what she said were the lessons. If you are interested in spiritual growth, give this book a read. Heads up, she does communicate with the "other world" if that bothers you at all.
We also need to learn to pay attention to our "vibes". In Christian circles, this is known as "listening to the Holy Spirit" and how many of us are really good at doing that? If you struggle with listening to that still small voice she has some tips for you.
This is an amazing book that I found on the shelves of my local library. Sonia Choquette really pulls together all of the life lessons we are taking on and how we can live our lives with greater depth and meaning. After all that is why we are here. It is hard to pick one quote, however I do have something that I want to share that pulls it all together. Soul Lesson #18-Actively Meditate:
p.172-"For variety, and to engage your creative faculties in this process, imagine that you are going fishing in the Divine Sea of Possibilities. Visualize your consciousness as an energetic question mark that forms a fishing hook, and it into the waters. Remain focused and patient and in time, your meditative tool will draw your desired experience."
I really need to get this book on my own shelf and follow through on all of the lessons. If you are looking for meaning and purpose I highly recommend this book.
I am reading this book for the third time in a row because it is completely resonating with me. I don't want to miss any part of the teachings. The book is about the 22 soul lessons in life, which have been channeled from the Divine, and applying them to where you personally are at in each of the lessons. Midway through life I can see where I am still a student in some lessons yet other lessons I have mastered. This book teaches you what you need to do to progress in each life lesson and how to reach the master level. This book is very insightful, eye opening, and highly recommend. This Sonia book is one of my top three favorites.
Love love love this one! I have recommended to to many patients so far. I appreciate the short sections that can be read in bite size chunks and the learning immediately applied. I like the practical tips and clear way of evaluating my own growth in various areas of my development. This is a must read for those looking to expand their understanding of themselves, why they are here and what more they are becoming.
Our small study group used this book as a guide and basis for discussion over a span of several months. We all felt that Sonia Choquette provided a unique way of exploring many of the emotional and spiritual growth issues dealt with by so many today. We had previously read another of her books, "The Answer is Simple" and I'd recommend it, too.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as most of Sonia's books. She has so many I really love, but this one seemed to be lacking in something - I can't quite put my finger on it. However, Sonia has so much to teach that if you haven't read any of her work, this one could be just right for you. If you don't like it, however, don't give up. Try Psychic Pathway, Trust Your Vibes or Ask Your Guides.
This is really an excellent book. All the lessons I am familiar with and I am glad to say I am either at a Journeyman or Master level. The channeling is authentic and full of wisdom. Lots of good advice to follow. Out of curiosity I checked Choquette's website and she charges $1500/hr for a consultation/reading. WOW. I will try not to hold that against her if I read any more of her books.
New-age-y and kind of fluff. Idk. It was a weird few months when I was reading this. I was so desperately trying to find any hope to cling to. It helped at the time. Not something I'd want to base my entire world view around. Not exactly something I'd recommend either.
