In this small book, almost pocket size, in simple terms, the author presents what each letter of alphabet stands for to create affluence and fulfillment in life.

For example, letter E stands for exulting in the success of others, especially your competitors. Thus when needed, they become your helpers. E also stands for expectancy, meaning always expect the best. Thus, attracting such outcome.

The book is divided into two parts. The second part, examines the qualities of the unified field, which is the source of all abundance and affluence in the universe. There are twenty five qualities. In simple terms, traits.

One of the fields is of pure awareness. We should be always present in what we’re doing at the time, not drifting with our thoughts.

The author recommends practicing one quality per day, and the way to do it is simply think about the word for example awareness. “Don’t analyze the word. Don’t try to define it. Don’t evaluate it. Don’t interpret it. Just have your attention on the idea.”

Personally, I prefer such simple ‘manual’ for self-improvement, rather than those full-text books which with many studies and examples try to support the context but often turns out to be a dry read.

This is a nice small book (a mere 104 pages), and it purports to be potentially life-changing.

Who is Deepak Chopra? He’s a guru of our times; he’s published tons of books; and he’s adored by countless thousands of people.

Why? I picked up this book at the local library to find out why.

Deepak wants us all to be rich! Rich in material wealth. Rich in physical health. Rich spiritually. And by absorbing the ideas in his book, we can achieve all this!

Isn’t it astounding? And to think, all that wisdom is to be found within a short (10 minute) walk to our local library!

The first half of the book is organized alphabetically. It is like one of those children’s books that teaches us the alphabet. A is for alligator. B is for Bug.

A, Deepak tells us, is for “all possibilities, absolute, authority, affluence, and abundance.”

Just repeat after me... absolute, authority, affluence. Yes, if you read these words enough times, they will become real in your life. Abundance with materialize. It is quite wonderful!

The technique is simple. Repeated Reading. Absorption. Physical manifestation.

The second half of the book consists of a list (1,2.3 this time, instead of ABC). The list describes the “qualities of the universal field, the self, pure Being.”

I am no science major, but his “scientific explanation” of the universe appears to me to have enough mumbo jumbo to turn off any thinking brain.

But who wants to think!? No. We all want to be affluent. So, repeat after me.....

Perhaps I’m being too hard on old Deepak. I’ll be honest. I’ve read some of his other books. I even enjoy some of his stuff. It’s fun to experiment briefly with this wonderful world of what...? metaphysics? philosophy? pseudo-philosophy? pop psychology? new age religion?

Deepak’s hard to classify. Read him and make up your own mind.

I’ll see you in a couple of years, driving by in your Mercedes.

You wealthy dog! You! All those repetitions paid off, didn’t they!?

Contrary to the connotation of affluence as just wealth/money this book really attempts to bring forth a consciousness/awareness of allowing all types of abundance in various areas of your life - Wealth being fulfillment, happiness, satisfaction balanced with the material world and goals. In some respects I found it a bit too short and concise on these principles... it's a bit too "easy" and light... but, in the same respect I find myself referring to this and other books by Deepak when I need that one boost or reminder to get me re-focused.

Wisdom is universal

I read this book as a Christian entrepreneur, and as an independent author. The principles engrained into eh DNA of this book are, at their heart, finely in tune with the principles taught by Christ. The philosophy of wealth and affluence as freedom—in every aspect of our lives, including finances, family, career, personal happiness—is exactly in line with he principles I hold in faith, to guide my daily life.

That's important to me. Wisdom is universal, if it's true wisdom. And I believe the author understands and practices the same loving principles that I value in my life. There is great wisdom here, and taking it into yourself, letting it take root in your consciousness and subconsciousness, will increase the very best of you.

I count this as one of the best books I've read to date, on the topic of embracing the power of knowledge and wisdom as a means to prosperity, in all aspects of your life. These are true principles, and if applied, they'll bring truly good results.

I'm very grateful to have found this, and very grateful to share it!

This was ok but not Chopra's best. He talks about changing your mindset to realize the abundance that is already in your life and how to encourage more to come. I enjoyed his meditations on love more than this.

The author encourages us to read this book multiple times to really absorb its teachings. After a first read, I am definitely going to read this again. A great book to help set a positive tone for the new year, and the remaining years of ones life.

Many of us are accustomed to expecting and planning for scarcity in our lives - to ration our own energies and affluence as if they are finite. This then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy- If you are miserly, you will lead a life driven by depravation.

However, if you are generous with your time and possessions and expect life to be abundant... you will have an affluent life. "Go first class all the way and the universe responds by giving you the best"

I do not pretend to be on the same spiritual plane as Deepak Chopra. His writings are always very thoughtful, challenging (to me) yet, provide tangible recommendations for achieving a higher state of being.

According to author Deepak Chopra, “Affluence includes money but is not just money. It is the abundance, the flow, the generosity of the universe, where every desire we have must come true, because inherent in having the desire are the mechanics for its fulfillment.” Creating Affluence has sold over 300,000 copies.

What can I say! Another great book. I will read this a few more times. Like all of these books of self empowerment one needs to read them over and over before the full message can penetrate. However, Mr. Chopra does a wonderful job of un-complicating it.

I enjoy his work!

I picked this up because I recognize the name and it cost $2 at 2nd and Charles.

I'm not sure why this author is taken seriously. The first part of the book was literally an A to Z for "Affluence". As in "A for All Possibilities", "B for Better and Best", etc. So, I'm wondering how this would work in other languages. In fact, the Italian alphabet has fewer letters than the English one, so does that mean it would have fewer points? How would this work with Korean? Or Chinese?

The second part talks about Wealth Consciousness. Here I was annoyed at his statement that "Universe" means "one song" (uni = one, verse = song). This is, of course, incorrect.

I'm noticing that all my complaints seem to stem from the fact that I am a linguist by trade. There were points that I agreed with and even found useful. Although I can't say I'll be searching for more of his books.

I enjoyed the reminders & short list to reference when wanting to shift my mindset. However, the information presented is not accessible to all & doesn’t recognize the complex barriers different folks can face. Nice to have listened to via audiobook & would return to it often, but definitely taking things with a grain of salt!

The book is 99 pages long and is broken up into two parts with two chapters each as follows:

Part 1 Creating Affluence
- Chapter 1 The Source of All Abundance
- Chapter 2 The A-to-Z Steps to Creating Affluence

Part 2
- Chapter 3 The Magic of Attention
- Chapter 4 The Power of Knowledge, Desire, and Spirit

It also has two appendices:
1) a list of the A-Z steps from Chapter 2
2) a list of the 25 qualities of the Unified Field from Chapter 4.

Having read "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" by Reverend Catherine Ponder, I was aware of the connection between prosperity consciousness and material prosperity. Reverend Ponder is a new-thought Christian so she wrote her book from that perspective. I don't know if Dr. Chopra calls himself Hindu or not but the book is very much written from a Hindu perspective.

I've also attended Harv Eker's Millionaire Mind Intensive so I'm familiar with the idea of creating something in your life by giving it attention. I particularly like Eker's "Attitudes of Wealth":
https://caroltuttlevideos.weebly.com/...
https://caroltuttlevideos.weebly.com/...

It's a fairly short read. I took my time and read it in about an hour and a half because I paused at times to reflect on the material. Here are two beautiful passages from the book:
1) http://www.michaelppowers.com/prosper...
2) http://www.michaelppowers.com/prosper...

As you've probably heard, good books are meant to be read and re-read. In "A Note from the Author," Dr. Chopra says:

"The material in this book is extremely concentrated and has to be literally metabolized and experienced in the consciousness of the reader. For best results, I suggest you read the entire book once and subsequently read five pages on a daily basis. Upon completing the book start again. Make this a lifelong habit, and wealth in all its forms will follow you wherever you go."

I intend to do as he suggests and will post again a month from now.

This is the first Chopra I have ever read. At first it feels pretty light on but as a result, it leaves a lot of room for reflection.

There were definitely some points raised in here I'll work to remember and integrate into my life. They include:
- The unknown = infinite possibilities = freedom.
- Worrying about money = feeling poor.
- Being carefree with your resources = charity and generosity = fulfilment and gratitude.
- Attention = manifestation.
- Universe literally means One Song.

I like Chopra's recommendation to read the whole book through once and then re-read 5 pages per day on repeat thereafter. The idea of having a day per month to reflect on each of the qualities of the unified field also seems like a good way to integrate the learnings into your everyday life.

This book lists out the A - Z steps for creating affluence. The word affluence here refers to every positive things in our life not only money. Each step is a passage which the author suggests the reader to read everyday till the concepts are inherited by the reader's mind.

The author also takes reference from his inspirations - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Wayne Dyner. Here the reader need not take any effort to implement these principles in his life. The author suggests that simply reading it and absorbing the meaning for every passage will transform one's mind.

This book ends with a chapter narrating the scientific advancement and relating this to spirituality.

Good Luck!

Maybe I just can’t stand books that claim they’ll help you get richer or better. It feels like they’re exploiting human’s vulnerability for their own profit. 90% of times one can summarise an entire self help book in one short paragraph. This one had all the correct pretty vocabulary. I picked it up because I was curious about the law of manifestation and all that jazz. The second half was an invitation to grandiosity by perfectly describing God (which totally gave Guruji vibes from Sacred Games haha). I kinda lost him when he quoted a Coleman Bark’s translation of a Rumi quote. If there’s one thing I hate more than self help books, it’d be Bark’s misleading “translations” of Rumi

My psychologist recommended this book. I like the idea that what we focus on creates our reality (it's true that I have to focus on writing to be a successful writer), but I was distracted by the fact that the last 10% of the book is just a list of other Deepak Chopra books, audio books, etc. I might want to spend my money on. No thanks.

Or maybe that's part of the lesson as well? Maybe we should all spend 10% of our time making it easy for other people to give us money.

I have read most of Deepak Chopra's books. They are always life affirming and give you a new perspective on life.

I learn something new about myself and I hope am becoming a better person. Note that the title says "a richer life". That does not always mean money and a life lived well is always richer.

I would recommend it to help guide you to a new way of thinking and approaching life in the future.

I purchased this book on CD 3 or 4 years ago. Every time I listen to it the concepts make more sense. It's amazing to me to ponder on the power of our thoughts to create measurable change in our experience. The more I've applied these principles in my life, the more magic and abundance have illuminated my reality.

Read/Listened to the audiobook which is only an hour long. Opening comments and A-Z comments were interesting. The rest, micro-sub-particle-alchemy, was less so. In my mind this was a good reminder that our mind holds the key for opening doors to new realities and that money does not necessarily equal prosperity.

This book just didn’t speak to me at all. I tried to keep an open mind about it, but all I could feel was that Dr. Chopra had a deadline for a book release - and this is what he came up with.

I’m glad that I picked up this book at my local library, for had I bought it, I would have wanted a refund. The author has many other books that are far better than this one.

I found this book to be written in easy-enough-to-read Spanish that I was able to follow the gist of most of the parts that I read. It is easy to pick up and put down again because it is written in very short chapters, many of which correspond to letters of the alphabet, as in "A is for...."

THE POPULAR AUTHOR TURNS TO A MORE ‘MATERIAL’ SUBJECT

Author Deepak Chopra wrote in the Introduction to this 1993 book, “There is power in knowledge, desire and spirit. And this power within you is the key to creating affluence.”

The ‘Note from the Author’ explains, “The material in this book is extremely concentrated and has to be literally metabolized and experienced in the consciousness of the reader. For best results, I suggest that you read the entire book once and subsequently read five pages on a daily basis. Upon completing the book, start again. Make this a lifelong habit, and wealthy in all its forms will follow you wherever you go.”

He states in the first chapter, “Affluence is the experience in which our needs are easily met and our desires spontaneously fulfilled. We feel joy, health, happiness, and vitality in every moment of our existence. Affluence is reality, and the true purpose of this book is to give us an insight into the nature of reality… The principles expressed in this book relate specifically to the creation of unlimited material wealth, but these principles can be applied to fulfill any desire, because they are the same principles that nature uses to create material reality out of a nonmaterial substance.” (Pg. 17-18)

He observes, “People with wealth consciousness settle only for the best. This is also called the principle of highest first. Go first class all the way and the universe will respond by giving you the best.” (Pg. 28) He adds, “Also, adopt luxury as a lifestyle. Luxury is our natural state. Adopting luxury as a lifestyle sets the preamble, the preconditions for the flow of wealth.” (Pg. 40) He suggests, “absence of respect, courtesy, manners, or admiration creates a state of poverty irrespective of the amount of money you have in the bank.” (Pg. 48)

He asserts, “Tithing means giving away a certain portion of your income without conditions or strings attached. When you give, a vacuum is created that attracts even more of what you have given away.” (Pg. 52)

He explains, “Wealth consciousness implies absence of money worries. Truly wealthy people never worry about losing their money because they know that wherever money comes from there is an inexhaustible supply of it.” (Pg. 56)

He states, “Create as much wealth as your heart desires. Fulfill every material and nonmaterial desire. Create wealth and spend it. Spend it lavishly and then share it and give it to others. Give it to your children, to your family, to your relatives, to your friends, to society, and to the world. For wealth is of the universe and it does not belong to us---we belong to it.” (Pg. 61)

He acknowledges, “Let’s examine the qualities of the unified field, the self, pure Being, which is the source of all abundance and affluence in the universe. After all, if we were to choose a role model, if we were to choose something that we must emulate, why not choose the unified field, the source of all creation, as our role model? The following twenty-five qualities are ascribed to the unified field. This list was developed several years ago, when Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the Transcendental Meditation technique, asked a group of physicists to describe the qualities of the unified field.” (Pg. 73)

He observes, “In this book, I have outlines for you the steps to wealth consciousness based on a true understanding of the workings of nature… Affluence includes money but is not just money. It is the abundance, the flow, the generosity of the universe, where every desire we have must come true, because as stated earlier, inherent in having the desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment.” (Pg. 92-93)

Chopra is one of the most influential voices of the New Age movement; the topic of this book may not appeal to all of his readers and followers, however.
