Really great book. The author tells you about different learning techniques, reading techniques, and interpersonal communication. In order to learn properly you have to be stress free and mentally prepared. This is what gives the best results.
If you ignore the zippity-doo-dah corporate square attitude, the silly pseudoscience, and the slightly creepy guided meditation session (seriously, Colin Rose should be voicing villains in superhero movies and leave this shit alone), what you have left is an incredibly powerful program with really solid techniques. This program WILL improve your ability to learn, no matter what subject you tackle. Great stuff from Brian Tracy.
I would put Brian Tracy's Accelerated Learning Techniques in the same category as Dale Carnegie's timeless "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and Napolean Hill's "Think and Grow Rich".
What makes this book stand out is the transcendence beyond solely pseudoscience and hype. Brian Tracey, a reputable author, motivational speaker and businessman, presents actionable techniques to improve one's ability to learn which is sure to improve anybody's personal success if diligently applied and improved.
One draw back is that the material is very surface level. Personally, I have encountered the majority of the teachings in corporate experiences, self education and 17+ years of schooling. However the book served as a great reminder of techniques I have forgone and was an overall powerful source of motivation.
If interested in this book, I would recommend "Moonwalking with Einstein" by Joshua Foer to gain a deeper insight about the nuances of memory and the human mind.
Good mosaic resource. As I'm sure is consistent with the rest of Tracy's books. Just saying what's already known, to generate more money with that book publishing machine of his. The free audiobook was a quick and easy listen to and reminds one of some pretty important and long held tools and tricks.
To be honest, the book sells itself A LOT along the chapters, it could probably be reduced to its half if we cut the crap and went straight into the scientific advice and the takeaways. I believe if you just want the straight forward information, you can read chapters 2-10 and that's it pretty much! If you're not a parent or educator, that's what you need from the book. And the advice on Creative Thinking was really avant guard by the time this book was published (and many other thought-pieces, so many points to Brian Tracy here!), but now they're already well-known (which is fair enough, it's been a while :)).
Solid. Just solid information. Great tips for life-long learning and improvement. This book motivates the reader. I am reading it along with other speed reading and memory improving books and I greatly enjoyed this one. Already started incorporating the advice.
A sound, practical system for learning and retaining information. The system can be used to learn anything - job skills, hobbies, college, etc. It's a little longer than it needs to be but easy enough to skip around to the important lessons.
This was not bad - fact is that each learning technique discussed could have been expanded into a program itself into deeper discussion - which I think would stick and stamp better in ones mind for retention of education ... the last couple chapter relaxation talk and music was not necessary either

This book helped me rethink the way I learn and I truly started to believe in the benefits multiple sensory learning and multiple intelligences. Some skills are not discussed in depth like memory training, speed reading, writing. If you want to improve yourself in those areas, you might want to look for other books that cover those topics after finishing this book. I acquired this book from Audible and it came with a very useful companion PDF for references. Otherwise it would be too bad this audiobook never came available as a printed edition.
"The more you learn, the more you earn." - Warren Buffet. A little bit repetitive at some points but other than that it's a piece of gold.
Heard of the old paradigm, that we use only 10-15% of our brain? The new science tells it's a little bit more but after finishing this program you'll definitely unlock more if it.
Learning how to learn is the most important skill you can have in your life. As Napoleon Hill put it: "The way of success is the continuous pursuit of knowledge."
Very helpful. I will be referencing this book for the rest of my life! It's not what you think if you're just looking for a step by step guide. These tips include a lot of visualization and preparation. The tips on speedreading are very helpful. Additional tips on memorization were helpful and were a nice addition to the things I've learned from Jim Kwik. Study tips, retention, taking breaks. All helpful stuff. Really good audiobook.
Six Compact Discs/One 96- Page Workbook/Bonus Compact Disc. Science has suggested that the human mind has an almost infinite potential for learning and processing information. The problem has always been how to access this incredible power. Accelerated Learning Techniques tells you how.
Surprisingly, this was actually pretty good. A lot of the techniques in here you've probably already used (e.g. highlighting, flashcards), but there are a lot of subtle hints in here to make the most of those techniques. "Power Reading," is also an interesting way to approach books that I'll have to try sometime for textbooks I want to chew through.
This one was with me for a while, I kept not being able to move ahead with it and restarted a few times. Listening to it beame a goal that I aspired to. On finally finishing it, I realized there wasn't any special insight in there. The advice seem like what I would have come up with if I had brainstormed the subject for a weekend.
This audio book gives some information about how to enhance your learning, memory, and communication. It is not bad, but I did not find most of the ideas it explains in anyway special.
Pretty good overall. Some of the content was more difficult to digest in comparison to some of his other books. This may be due to the topic and perhaps I need to revisit this in a few months time.
Although an old book, this book was a great read and had many great tips to accelerate learning. Looking forward to applying this to everything that I read / watch going forward!
