What’s a guy to do when the one woman he can’t stop thinking about doesn’t believe he’s got real feelings for her? Get downright stubborn and sweep her off her feet, that’s what.
Pippa: The idea that my richest and most gorgeous client just proposed to me feels like a crazy joke, or a pitch for some weird reality show. But the thing is, my situation is dire enough that taking Blake up on his offer is a given. I’ll have to keep my wits about me though. Otherwise, the man who’s willing to go through all this to rescue me (because that’s just the kind of guy he is) will be the man I’ll end up falling for harder than I already have.
Blake: So, that just happened. I just proposed and saved Pippa's business in one fell swoop. Of course I did. I’ve been protective of her from the very start of our friendship. And now that she’s wearing my ring, protective doesn’t even begin to cover the way I feel. That I stepped up to help her out of the mess she’s in was always a given. But the fact that I had to take such drastic measures to begin with? That’ll all make sense soon enough.
All I have to do first is convince the most stubborn woman alive that I really am in love with her.

THOUGHTS
A size sixteen has never look so good. I love this story, it was so sweet and sexy. It's the type of story that you read that gives you the tingles, shivers and a growing excitement with each page. I had a few buts when I reached the end but my likes supersedes my dislikes.
The moment the story starts, it dives right into the plot line, so no unnecessary words to fill in the story. It starts like any typical contract concept, as Blake is trying to convince Pippa, why she should take his proposal of marriage. Once she agrees, O.M.G..Blake's personality went from average to mega attractive. Excuse my french, but he was mind screwing(f******) Pippa the whole time he is in contact with her. It was also the way he was doing it and saying certain things that were such a damn turn on. Hell, he made me think I was a size 0. Blake would say other things like "When, in the future, I say you look stunning, you smile at me and melt like I mean it." Believe me, it sounds better in the moment coming from Blake.
I could go on and on about Blake, because he was the show stopper for me. He makes me feel like a teenager just thinking about him. Pippa's character was just as nice. With the things Blake was saying to her, made it even harder for her to concentrate. The plot and the storyline to me had a certain simplicity to it, but it's the way the author convey the story to the reader, that gets an A+ from me.
What left me a little disappointed, was that I wanted more erotica scenes; I felt they were not enough. Also, Blake's explanation on his reasoning for doing what he did, didn't leave me satisfied, however, the end was so sweet. And other than this issue for me, I love love love this story.
Blake is rather perfect as alpha hero, but Pippa was portrayed as weak too often to make her likable. I wanted to see her as the successful PR rep, not an insecure fat woman. And why was a size 16 portrayed as fat in the first place?? This author needs to stop portraying healthy women as fat weaklings.
I actually enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. The heroine, Pippa, was smart, sassy, and beautifully plump, but closed-off, clueless, and emotionally scared. The hero, Blake, was a billionaire, hot, and head-over-heals in love with Pippa. The actions he took to prove his love were a bit over the top and extreme, but he felt it was the only way to get through to Pippa. Talk about a grand gesture! There was great chemistry between the two characters. There were some great steamy scenes, but there was romance as well. Sure, there were some parts that were unrealistic and predictable, but sometimes that is what is great about reading fiction. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.
4.5 Stars This book surprised me a lot! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I took a half a star off for Blake being a huge manwhore before he met Pippa but thankfully there were no details other than he was one. My heart broke for sweet Pippa and what her mother put her through, that woman deserves to rot for what she did and continued to do. I completely understood why Pippa didn’t grasp what was going on, why she couldn’t see the truth. Even though most of the story is told from Pippa’s POV you could feel the love Blake had for her. His feelings jumped off the page. The journey these two went on was quick but beautiful and a little sad at what Pippa went through and definitely sexy. Blake was all in and he did everything he could to break down his woman’s walls and she had some very strong wall put up that she was unable to see genuine love right in front of her. Is what Blake did dishonest and crazy and desperate? Yes it definitely was but he was out of options and his alpha took over. His POV was sweet and all the little things he did for her over the year was beautiful. He truly showed her how much he loved her. This is definitely my favourite story by Christa Wick!
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No real om/ow drama. H thinks h was feelings for her friend at work, he doesn’t know that he is gay. h thinks H is in love with another woman and is using her to get this other woman’s attention, she just can’t believe that he has genuine feelings for her. H used to be a huge manwhore, it was so bad he needed to hire a PR firm to remake his image. He hires h as his PR manager and for him it’s love at first sight and doesn’t think of another woman. h has had past lovers but nothing serious, she is very insecure with her weight because of her mother. h’s mother emotionally abuses the h her entire life about her weight. What she went through was horrible and my heart broke for her. Her mother calls her after the relationship goes public and she still spews such hateful things at her. There is no physical or sexual abuse.
All the elements are there for it to be my favorite type of trope. I'm a sucker for a man desperately in love with a woman. Yes, cause I've never had it thank you armchair psychology. Whatever, it is by far my favorite type of love story. But this book is such a let down. All the action takes place before the story starts and then the focus is on the physical. It should have started a year ago. I'd rather read a slow burn actual romance than a poorly written spicy book. The love scenes are just bad. He gives good kiss but that's about it. For someone so focused on over the top detail a good oral scene should have been cake to describe. But the whole physical business from his fingers to stroke game is abysmal. I liked the deep psychological abuse she received at the hands of her mother. So, often in the I'm fat and unlovable books there is a lack of motivation for the deep self loathing. Pippa has a right to believe that she is unlovable because she's fat someone was force feeding her that garbage from the cradle. I liked the characters. But the plot sucked because there was a lack of commitment. The single pov til the climax did no one any favors. The general writing was weirdly detailed then very broad strokes. And the fact that all action except the laughably bad bedroom antics, took place off screen made for a very boring book. I actually think I'm being generous with two stars, but the story that happened before the proposal and her realistic interaction is what gave it enough potential for two.
I feel it was too short, the writer didn't give us any chance for suspense or conflict just dove into the love story without any sort of build up and I guess that explains why after reading it just last week I can barely remember the details of the characters apart from the fact that the guy was already in love with her even before he made the proposition that they should get married. My opinionf the story could have been draw out more to explain or tell why or how he fell in love with Pippa because I feel the quickness of the tale didn't do the real life curvy woman any good... My two cents though

The chase is on. Claiming Her Curves is a different kind of complicated. Love happens backwards for a pair of business associates. Pippa and Blake have been skirting around the obvious for a number of years, but with her business at risk, he sees his chance to claim the ultimate prize. Wick plays all her cards close to the vest. From unpredictable twists and hilarious turns to tempting scenarios, Wick puts the moves on a heart and wholeheartedly captures it.
This novella read like a Harlequin romance from days of yore (ie the one's my Mom used to read) - except it was way more erotically charged! Handsome millionaire offers a marriage of convenience/business arrangement to an independent woman in dire financial straights - the catch is they have to "act" the part all the time (it's not so much a catch as a job perk...) It's fomulaic, but it works!
This was a good short story with a plus-sized heroine. Some things felt rushed and/or not explained fully enough, but with the shorter format, that's usually the case. I would have loved reading this as a full-length novel with more details.
I have to admit even though it was a short story, it was very very good. Love the way, How the leading male character wanted more of her, and her not knowing how his feelings were. It was very sweet, how he wanted her. Truly impress with this book. Kudos.
This was one of those unexpected but unbelievably outstanding gems you find when you least expect it. I loved the characters and the angle Wick took with the story. Puppy was a bit obtuse in "getting it" but it was totally sweet once she did. Blake is totally my new book boyfriend! *sigh*
Oh my,Oh yes..just wanna dive in and pull this Blake guy right out of the book for meself..hehehe;) Its a short story but soo sweet n romantic, 5 stars for adory-hunky Blake!!
An okay read that laboured too much for me on the obesity, cruel parents and insecurities. Blake was a dream but pippa was so much in her own head and even with the few friends you couldn’t really get a feel for her personality.

A rich sexy man trying to convince a curvy damaged woman that he is serious about her. The hero thinks outside the box on winning his HEA with his gal plus he has to stay a few steps ahead of her. He really tries to understand her and read her body language in his pursuit. A well written charming read.
I thought that this was a good read with a fun and emotional storyline. That being said, for me this read just lacked that spark and certain something that takes a good book and makes it into a great love story. I think that there were a couple reasons for this. My first issue was Pippa. I felt bad for her. I mean you would have to be a cold hearted monster if you didn't. But I just couldn't connect with her emotionally and that meant I never felt I got close enough to her to grow to like her. Secondly, I felt that Pippa was not in the right headspace for a relationship. The emotional baggage she was carrying was enormous. I know we like to believe that finding "The One" and falling in love can be a cure all but I couldn't buy that everything would just be ok because Blake loved her. I'll admit, Blake was awesome and very swoon worthy but that was way too much pressure to put on his extremely strong and sexy shoulders. I would have loved for her to have either gotten some counseling either prior to the start of their relationship or after, it just would have made me feel better. Blake was a true winner. He was everything you could want in a book boyfriend. The story is mainly told from Pippa's P.O.V. and in my opinion, that this was a huge drawback for this book. It may seem strange but I really wish that it had been told from Blake's P.O.V or at least with a more consistant dual P.O.V.. I honestly think that this would have made a world of a difference in this book. This is my independent, impartial review.
First read for me by this author. I really liked this romance, it's a quick read but a rewarding one. Pippa Jones is in deep trouble her accountant has run off with her money, now her livelihood is threatened. Then one her clients Blake Cross a millionaire steps in to help, he has a proposition. He needs a wife temporarily, but he refuses to tell Pippa why till after they're married. If she agrees he will help her financially.
This is a good read, it's obvious to the reader what's going on, only the heroine Pippa doesn't get it. Being a fuller figured girl all her life she's never had anyone treat her right. Blake is always photographed by the press and Pippa fears if she agrees to the deal he's offering she'll be lambasted in the papers. But Blake is determined to get his way.
Great chemistry and sensuous sex scenes, as well as likeable characters I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Blake and Pippa have chemistry for days, but she lacks the confidence to believe he could really be interested in her. When Blake sees his opportunity to get Pippa to take a chance, he makes the most of it. I really enjoyed the way he was her white knight even when dealing with his own insecurities.
All but one of the chapters are told in Pippa's POV, and the one chapter that is in Blake's was perfectly timed and brilliantly sums up his side of the events. There's plenty of steam even while waiting for the wedding night, and the HEA was both empowering and romantic. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This story totally sucked me in! I loved how it started right in the middle of the plot unfolding rather than giving a whole lot of backstory and slow buildup, but I still felt like I knew exactly what was going on. Pippa manages to be sympathetic and identifiable even after we've figured things out LONG ago that she still can't bring herself to see...overall, this is a great love story that also features incredibly hot sex. It doesn't get any better than that!
This was a free book and I didn’t realize it was a chubby girl novel until I started reading it. I’m not usually a fan, because they always focus on the main character’s weight so much that it interrupts the flow of the story, and this was no different. I battled to the end but I was getting fed up with neither of them being truthful about their feelings.
Yay for chubby insecure heroines!! I loved how she was oblivious. This was a fun quick read. (3.5 stars)
Re-read and it is still fun fluff (like most contemporary BBW romance, really). It's contrived and implausible, but the perfect quick escape for chubby spinsters like me!
This was a lovely little short story.I would have given it five starts but the reason for the marriage/law suit was never explained. But either way it was fun and sexy to read.
I’ve said it before: stop writing “plus size” romance with women who are ashamed of their bodies with horrible people in their lives telling them how disgusting they are.
