Security is such a massive topic and at times this book struggled to contain itself. There are only a few chapters and it starts off well, things are quite interesting and kept simple. One section every computer user should read is about picking your password. Chapter 4 is where things went wrong, it was way too long, at times I was nearly falling asleep, it really needed to be split up into at least 3 chapters.

For those like me studying for the exam I recommend watching these videos on MVA as they go through this book giving you demos as they go along. it really helps.

It's a textbook. Written in mostly English, rather than technobabble.
