Review
To be honest, when Ms. Blanco approached me to read and review this book, I was a bit hesitant because this is definitely out of my normal genre, but while reading I was instantly reminded of ‘The Hyde’ series and that was all it took – I was hooked.

My only complaint is that it was too short and I wanted more by the time I got to the last page.  Now I’m going to be waiting with baited breath for the next book in the series.  Another little problem I had was the beginning was a bit difficult to understand with all the talk of robotics and bionics but it is necessary to set the story up between Deimos and Sapphire and what difficulties are awaiting them.  Once you get to the part of Deimos seeing Magdalena for the first time…wow…that’s when the story picks up and the real action starts.

Not only does this book have tons of action – fighting off bad guys, running, hiding, murder and such…but the attraction between Deimos and Sapphire is fucking hawt!!  Deimos lives with a constant hard-on for the girl and acts like she is drug and he is jonsing for his next fix – it kinda adds some humor in there thinking of this big hulking bad guy – brought down to his knees by a little spit fire.

This is the first book I have read by Ms. Blanco but it definitely will NOT be my last….she has me already jonsing for what happens next…..just hope I don’t have to wait too long for it!

Recap
Magdalena is dead but Sapphire lives.  The daughter of a very important man, Mr. Heaton decides he can’t live without his daughter and has her rebuilt with bionics and the brain of a computer – the problem is that the personality is Sapphire but has the memories of Magdalena.

Deimos is hired to deliver Magdalena from the doctor who built Sapphire and deliver her to her father…but someone knows how valuable Magdalena is and either wants her dead or captured.  Throw into this mix the sexual attraction that Deimos is trying to control – along with his ‘caveman’ tendencies when his friend starts to show interest in Sapphire too…..and damn you have a story that has your heart racing.

Great start to a series and I'm looking forward to the next one. This did end with a cliffy, so if you're a cliffhanger hater then you may want to wait for the entire series to come out.

The Exchange casting photo

This little novella was exactly what I needed right now. I feel like I've been in a book funk and I needed craved something different! I craved action, attraction and angst. I craved a kick ass sci-fi to pull me from my funk. I craved a hero and heroine that can handle their own shit in a very Chuck Norris way then wrap it up in a hot sexy bow. The Exchange delivered exactly what I was craving.

There was some situational humor in here and it worked really well. You have your hulking hero, Deimos and your young, tiny and petite Sapphire who can take Deimos down with just a look. Seriously, she has some major voodoo poonanny going on and Deimos hasn't even touched her yet. Deimos is ready to hand her the world and she has done absolutely nothing but exist.

"Protect her, sooth her, take care of her. Fuck her, wreck her, make her mine."

Heavy breather

"I'm tempted to try running another scan on her body. Ha. Yeah right. She'd block it, and she'd be inside me again. I shift at the thought, my cock stirring in my pants. Shit. Am I turned on by the thought of having her inside my systems?"

Deimos is a little older than Sapphire and he is struggling with that fact at first, but quickly gets over it when he smells competition near. It's like a pissing contest and Deimos is the only one who's playing. His "inner conqueror-slash-protector is fully activated." Deimos' systems are failing because all the blood in his body is rushing to his dick!

 Van candy

Now, for the couple of things that I didn't care for. First let me just point out that I'm not and never will be an English major and I never critique on grammar or misspelled words or anything like that in my reviews. I'm practically an idiot when it comes to that stuff. So what I am about to say is my personal opinion and how I felt when I was reading. Ok, here it goes... I think there are too many incomplete sentences. There I said it. A lot of the sentences felt short and choppy to me. Again, I'm no writer but this is how it sounded in my head. Okay, moving on. The amount of internal dialogue can get a little annoying and the story is too short and I need more now. There, that's all.

"I've fought alongside, and worked with, many dangerous, trained-to-kill females, but Sapphire just took my fucking breath away."

I completely agree with that quote. Sapphire and Deimos took my breath away. Their chemistry is smoking hot. It was almost like their attraction to each other was more of a destiny rather than chance. I won't say anymore about that and you'll just have to read the book for yourself.

N. Isabelle Blanco is an amazing writer and I'm looking forward to see what she does next. Hopefully I won't have to wait long for the next Project Sapphire.

Sweet Baby Jeebus! Okay so when I first read the synopsis for the this story I thought to myself “hmmn...this is different, maybe it will be interesting”. Being that I had reached the point where I read myself into a Contemporary Romance coma, I was looking for something to spice up my typical reading line up and a Sci-Fi erotica was so outside my normal genre that I thought hell, why not! And HOLY MACKERAL, I TOTALLY MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE! Who knew that a guy with bionic parts could be so damn HOT!

Alright now that, that’s all cleared up lets dive in. The Exchange doesn’t take place too far in the future despite the content of the story and technology being ridiculously advanced. Part 1 is told through the POV of the male protagonist Maxwell Landon code name, finger lickin’ good wipe the drool of your face, Deimos. He is a well-oiled killing machine sent on a mission to escort Magdalena Heaton who in reality is deceased, yes I said deceased, killed in an accident. Magdalena really is just a vessel for a self-learning and self-evolving artificial intelligence named Sapphire. Built by a remarkable scientist whom she views as her father, her creation was commissioned by the real Magdalena’s biological father in an attempt to save his daughter’s life. Confusing? Slightly yes but stay with me here cause it gets better and all the more intriguing, because there are people after Sapphire. People who want to harvest her capability and use it for their own benefit. She is not safe and Deimos is intent on protecting her if it’s the last thing he does.

Now Deimos is a force to be reckoned with, built to destroy with a good portion of his body made up of bionic parts; he is fierce, raw, powerful, and sexy as all hell. He is the caged beast you want to let free and shout “Do what you will, I’m yours, ravish me!”. Blanco does an excellent job of telling the story through his eyes. His internal dialogue will not only have you swooning like a b*tch in heat because he screams alpha but cracking up at the sheer honesty of his emotions and how barefaced he is about what’s going on inside the head on his shoulders and with the head in his pants. Insert daydreaming about what’s in Deimos pants here…sigh * SMACK TO FACE* now back to the review. But let’s not forget about Sapphire, this chick is bada$$. She is fast, agile, of course intelligent, strong and determined. In some scenes her character surprised the crap out of me revealing just another awesome trait hiding within her small frame. Sparks fly between Sapphire and Deimos and boy it is intense between these too, like a volcano waiting to erupt. But there is something else there, something very subtle brewing beneath the surface between them that I hope and can’t wait to see further developed in the next book.

This story is high intensity, constant action and very entertaining. Between unraveling who may be the threat to Sapphire, the fighting sequences and the melt the walls of a room attraction between Deimos and Sapphire I think I might have been holding my breath during a few scenes waiting for what would happen next. Blanco creates a very interesting, erotic story that I didn’t even see coming. The end of part one is one of those, oh sh*t facepalm, moments that will leave your mouth hanging open.

I totally loved this book; it surprised me and kept me wanting to read more. Now the only problem is the wait for the next part, booooooo.

While this story caught me off guard a little to begin with it left me wanting more by the last chapter. Even from a young age I read at a more advanced level then most so reading with a dictionary close by was understandable. I did have to look up a few of the terms, not for lack of explanation but just to help me understand it better. The characters are well built and you connect with them, the author allows you into the head of the main male character while I would have liked to have had a glimpse of the female mind at some point as well. I am hopeful that part II will allow that insight to Sapphire (female lead). The heat that came from the characters was so steamy I almost felt bad for reading this at work...almost. In fact once I made it past the initial bionic explanations I was turning pages so fast that I about died when I came to the end. Such a good read! I do plan to go back and read it again as I sit here waiting for the release of part II. Thank you to the author for taking your time to write a great story and sharing it with us.

I know normally anything with the hint of Syfy I always want to run the other way running, but this author knew how to keep me hooked and keep me reading the wonderful story that was being unfolded right before my eyes. The story is a 1 person POV but you do get to hear from another person but not like Deimos the main character. The characters are all these strong independent characters that I knew I really was going to like Maxwell "Deimos", the name is just really hott and the scenes that he describes yumm!!! To say the least I do believe that everyone should give this story a chance and read it; it might just blow your mind like it did with me. Was completely something different then what I thought it was better.

I adored this book. There was suspense, mystery, romance and AI.

The unresolved story of Deimos and Sapphire (recreated), a controlling father and a simmering attraction.

Oftentimes authors permanently shelve a series and leave readers grasping aka hopeful for an ending...losing interest due to the lengthy gap (in this instance, five years) that has elapsed.

I wish this book had been finished. Why begin a series that fails to include a conclusion❓

I love N. ISABELLE BLANCO’s writing! She is one of the very few authors I’d read anything from – even without knowing the blurb. …otherwise I never would have picked up THE EXCHANGE PART I. I think it’s the first book with a touch of Sci-Fi I’ve ever read. One, Sci-Fi never was one of my favorite topics at all and second, with English not being my mother language I was not sure if I would understand everything good enough to keep track. So, yes, I had to look up a few terms, but altogether I am so glad I took a chance on this book!!

How far advanced is the bionic technology nowadays? Do you know? Would you believe that there are people in this world with one or even two bionic arms and that the world’s first AI has already been successfully created? Well, this is the world of Maxwell Landon, who prefers to be called by his code name: Deimos. He is one of the most efficient and annihilating killers out there, only his job this time is different: Not to destroy, but to protect and escort Magdalena Heaton – the girl who died in a car crash and whose memories were transferred back into her body again as the world’s first AI – back to her father. Only Deimos cannot shake the feeling that the person in Magdalena’s body is someone else – someone that gets his cold heart beating again, someone who attracts him like no one else before…
While all these putting Magdalena back into her body and bringing her back to life stuff was initiated by her biological father who was not able to let his only daughter go, it was the exceptional scientist Dr. Allen who brought the self-learning artificial intelligence who is now using Magdalena’s body and calls herself Sapphire to life. Despite being an AI, Sapphire will do anything to keep her creator – whom she is secretly calling “father” – safe. And Deimos – the more he learns about her – the more he wants to help, protect, and – yes, let’s face it – ravish her and make her his…

Deimos, with his bionic arms, is a killing machine you don’t want to mess with. But he is also sexy as hell and raw. The book is completely told from his point of view and I absolutely loved it! His internal dialogues, how he fights his feelings and his most primal urges and how he is still being funny yet unapologetic about it. It is the kind of alpha male that has you swooning all the time!

Then we have Sapphire… she is a force of her own. Strong, determined, fast and of course hyper intelligent – doing things that made me question how much humanity she really possesses. Then the next second she shows her human side – caring and loving – and not being immune at all against Deimos’ sexiness.

The attraction between these two is palpable, winding up more and more until it erupts with a huge BANG like a volcano in the end! It is this intensity, this rawness between Blanco’s characters that makes her books this one-of-a-kind. I simply love it!

While this book is completely told from Deimos’ perspective, I would love to get an insight of what it is like to be in the complex mind of Sapphire in book #2.

So if you are in for an erotic fairytale with a touch of sci-fi, this book will truly not disappoint! But then again, even if sci-fi is not your cup of tea but you love a good erotic romance that is heating up your kindle this still might just be the book for you!
Be prepared for a mean cliffhanger though – one that makes you wishing book #2 would be released like NOW!!!

I was given a copy of "The Exchange" by author N. Isabelle Blanco in exchange for an honest review as well as participating in the MaE virtual book tour.

I knew that this book was listed as sci-fi with a twist of erotica.  Being a sci-fi freak, I am always willing to read just about anything.  Little did I know that I was getting a glimpse into two worlds that collide like freight trains headed towards one another.

*****

In "The Exchange," we are introduced to Maxwell Landon AKA Deimos.  He's the Adelphi Organization's top agent and the best at what he does.  Leading a team of men, they are sent orders to retrieve and deliver a highly classified individual.

After looking at his orders, he finds that his charge is Magdalena Heaton.  Only problem with this is, Magdalena died in a car accident.  Reading the brief, he learns that her father has went to every extent possible to bring his daughter back to life.

Taking her physical body, implanting a new and controversiql computer program into her brain that was developed specifically for her body, Magdalena has been brought back to life.  Only problem is, she isn't Magdalena any more.  She wants to be called Sapphire.

Realizing that if it gets out that someone has played God and brought a human back from the dead, then she is going to be a target on everyones list.  It's up to Deimos and his men to protect her and return Magdalena, Sapphire to her father.

Where things start to go wrong is when Deimos sets eyes on this breathtaking beauty.  She got an edge to her that sets his loins on fire.  Just looking into her eyes does something to him that has never happened before.  The sexual tension that starts to brew between these two will make your blood pressure rise and your breathing to quicken with anticipation of what is about to come.

*****

This was a really fast read for me.  With it only being 158 pages, I was able to read it in a couple of hours. Also with how the story is written, you can't read it fast enough to find out how Deimos is going to handle their next close encounter.

One thing about this book that is different from many others is how the author doesn't include a lot of conversation between characters.  I found what we were reading was about was the inner conflict and argument that Deimos was having with himself over this eye-catching young lady.

No matter what, this book will make you want more by the time it's over.  Even for the length of the book, it has enough of an actual story line that satisfied my love for sci-fi.

I'm highly curious about finding out how Deimos and Sapphire deal with the trouble that is always chasing them.  But more than anything, I'm anxious to see how he handles wanting the woman of his dreams that has just shut down on him.

“The Exchange – Part 1” by N. Isabelle Blanco
3 out of 5 stars
If you are looking for a unique and futuristic love story then this one is for you. The story of Deimos and Sapphire is an age old tale centered in a world full of technological advances that we could only dream of. Settle in to your pool chair or your comfy end of the couch and get ready for a quick read, guaranteed to leave you anxious for more!
I like the concept behind this book. The idea of bionic body replacement parts is nothing new, but it’s the computer processes behind it that are. I will admit that I struggled a little with the “techno-speak”. I would consider myself on the intermediate level when it comes to computers but I was left in the dark on some of the topics tackled in the story. That is one of the reasons I withheld one of the stars. I think Blanco needs to breakdown the terminology a little bit more and bring it down to a more basic level. I found myself skimming those paragraphs when I would have really liked to fully grasp the science behind it all.
The characters have great chemistry…almost too great. Without spoiling, I wondered if their attraction was completely physical/chemical or if the technology made them predisposed to be. I wish Blanco would have explored this theory or written it in such a way that I had no room to wonder. That was the reason for the second missing star. Deimos and Sapphire have extraordinary and immediate chemistry and at times it felt almost not human. I wanted to believe in their reaction to one another just a little bit more.
I enjoyed reading the story from Deimos’s perspective. He’s an intelligent narrator and it was great experiencing his confusing emotions first hand. I would love more back story on how he ended up in his line of work and hopefully in the next part of the series we will get to see that. It would be really cool if we could be inside Sapphire’s head as well! Overall, I enjoyed the book. It’s a quick read and I was able to do so in one sitting. I liked Blanco’s style and despite my slight struggle with the “techno-speak” I appreciated her smart writing. As part one of a series, there is so much potential for this story to get better and better. I look forward to reading the next installment!

This is my first time of reading this author and I must say, I enjoyed her writing style. This story is told from the POV of Deimos who is an agent for the Adelphi Organisation. His assignment is to transport 'cargo' - Ms Heaton from Japan to the United Kingdom. His job is to protect and deliver and he is supposed to be very good at it.

Until he meets his assignment, the resurrected dead daughter of a very powerful man turned into a bionic woman. But it turns out Ms Heaton isn't really Ms Heaton but an 'Artificial Intelligence' known as Sapphire.

Things start going wrong from the moment they meet. Well, I say wrong because Sapphire is not what Deimos expects and then of course there are those who want to acquire Sapphire for their own purposes.

I enjoyed this story. An action adventure story is right up my alley and I do occasionally read Science fiction. Reading this from Deimos' perspective also makes for a funny read at times. However I do have a beef with him. For a man who compared himself to James Bond, he spent way too much time over-analysing everything including his emotional responses to Sapphire and after a while it got a bit old. I was screaming "just get on with it!" A man who's supposed to be so good at his job shouldn't spend too much time thinking and too little time actually doing. Just saying.

On the whole I love the action, the suspense and the love scene when it eventually happened sizzled. This story ends with a cliff-hanger but since this is marked as part one, I expected it.

Do I recommend this? Hell, yeah!
Will I read this author again? Hell, yeah! Roll on part two.

I'm addicted to being inside a man's head when it comes to romance or utter sexiness. It's something that always turn my lights on.

First reviewed on Literaria http://sede-literaria.blogspot.com

We have this special agent who's as tough as they come. He's deadly, focused, mission-bent. All that changes when he meets HER. H'es in charge of a covert operation to deliver a girl back to her rich and powerful father, but she's no ordinary girl. She's been dead.

Now, resurrected with her body in part recomposed with bionic parts thanks to cutting edge technology, this new challenge is going to prove his undoing.

In addition, her mind has been tampered with using computer software. Is she the lost daughter or something else that has evolved beyond humanity or AI?

The kind of electricity that sparks between them is contagious. And so damn intimate and encouraging. I loved the mixture of bionics, hidden threats and this blossoming, all-consuming bond that envelops two people who are half human, half evolved beings.

When the action took place, I appreciated its impact thanks to the visual, rapid fire writing style. And the sexual tension keeps building up and up in the most wonderfully teasing way. The moment it bursts into consummation is shattering.

I can consider myself a fan of this author now. I've read other works by her and her style is powerfully direct. There's something unforgettable about her depictions of raw, primitive bonding between men and women that appeal to the naughty side of me. I can't wait to read the second installment. That shocking ending left me panting.

In a top secret government project, bionics have become a thing of the present. They have a team that no one is supposed to know about, that takes all of the riskiest, most dangerous, and elite jobs. That's where the Adelphi Organization comes in.

Lei Heaton is one of the richest and most powerful men of the United States. So when his daughter is in a severe car accident, he turns to the most advanced bionics there is, the Sapphire Project. The only problem is, he doesn't know anything about bionics or how they work, or what the side effects could be.

When the head of the Adelphi Organization, Deimos goes to retrieve Mr. Heaton's daughter, he is taken completely by surprise, for more than one reason. Magdalena is no longer the same woman she was before her accident. And no one knows it. Deimos also finds himself inexplicably attracted to her on a level that worries him. She is the job, he is the one who prides himself on his solid professional detachment from his work.

How will things work out for the young woman returning to a father and a home that isn't her own and only has implanted memories of? How will Deimos learn to deal with such an uncomfortable situation for him? Will Deimos be able to keep Magdalena and his team safe while transporting her back to her father's home?

Warning, this is a cliffhanger, even though this is a really great read. It's action packed, lustful, suspense filled, and mysterious. Definitely one that should be added to your TBR!

I am giving The Exchange Part 1 4 stars because of the sexual romance in the story. At first, I didn’t think I would be able to handle this story. I thought it would be about some complex and foreign terms that I wouldn’t remember or understand. Once it got started though, I couldn’t put it down. I finished it one sitting. It was a quick read. Hot and steamy to keep you interested.

Maxwell Landon aka Deimos, who is the lead character, narrating his story has one job, to protect Sapphire/Magdalena. One look is all it takes. Will he be protecting her from the outside world or from his self?

Sapphire is built just like Deimos with bionics. Everything she speaks, does pulls Deimos closer. He tries to fight the attraction between them, but is his control, his most prized possession, going to help him choose the right decision?

This book is not a cliffhanger but it will leave you intrigued to read book #2 because of how it ends. The technology that is in the book is amazing. It’s scary to think that maybe one day we could depend on science to provide us things like healing and limb replacement. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.

I am truly in awe of this book right now.  This is an erotic scifi with so much sexual tension its suffocating.  I had the opportunity to read an excerpt of this book and knew it was going to be HOT and amazing. The Exchange is by no means a frilly no-brainer, it has enough technology and advanced programming as well as biotechnology to make it a very interesting read.
The story is mainly focused on Sapphire, developed in a computer and mixed in with a dead girl's memories and body. Then you get Deimos, ruthlessly sexy special agent sent to deliver her where she needs to be.  The chemistry and attraction between these two is almost a dragon-like, living and breathing thing that is freakishly palpable across the pages. It is truly stunning writing, to say the least.
The caveman approach for Deimos was endearing and almost understandable, given that Gage, his friend and coworker also had his sights on Sapphire.  I almost wished there was a bit more of that in this book.
It does end in a huge cliffhanger, which kind of bothered me, but I will definitely be keeping very close tabs on when the next book is coming out.

I struggled with this read in the beginning but the synopsis grabbed me so I decided to start again and boy am I glad I did! Mad scientists comes to mind as does a desperate and heart broken father but The Exchange is so much more!

MAXWELL~ "Dermos" our man with bionic arms and a killer instinct to match ! I must just add he's a delicious bionicMAN♡ Despite the fact that he's a killer he dies have a heart and his protective instincts kick in when he realuses Sapphire is in danger.

SAPPHIRE~ I have never met AI with such character and personality, she's more real than some humans I know ! She's strong , compassionate and caring everything she shouldn't actually be.

The Exchange had numerous elements , there was action, suspense and erotica ! Dermos and Sapphire could ignite fires with their chemistry, passion and intensity!

With Sapphire being as "real" as she was I wonder how many people walking past me are real or AI ?! I'm left asking myself what are the chances or possibilities of AI ? I feel a little like Will Smith in "I, Robot"

What I enjoyed was that we see alot of the male perspective which was a pleasant change . Also , with Sapphire being AI I was curious as to her "emotions" I'd like to be in her head and see things from her side.

If you love Sci Fi this is definitely one for you to pick up. The Exchange is a fresh new look to the world of Sci Fi, I picked this one because it seemed very unique based off of the sypnosis and I will say I liked it from the start to the finish. I have read other books in this genre but they did not have the mixture that this treasure did. You meet Dermos who is freaking hot and sent on a mission to bring a package to a wealthy man. But little does he know that the package has been well altered beyond what he expected (just like him) and when these two meet chemistry and sparks start to fly. When you mix a fathers love to want anything in the world including changing his daughter to become bionic along with AI you have project Sapphire. However, the technology has become so advance that now others are trying to grasp it. Because you see Sapphire is capable of more than what is known and only under certain situation will the truth comes out. So you see not only did this book bring you steamy, it brought you action and lots more that you will have to read and find out why I enjoyed this book. Do we possibly see more in the future by this author and characters that we see in this book, I sure hope so.

This is a story about a billionaire's daughter, Magdalena. She is fatally wounded in a car crash, but instead of letting his little girl go, Lei Heaton decides to have her repaired by allowing doctors to alter her wounded body with bionics. Deimos - a prominent military team leader - is assigned to safely transport her from the bionics lab back to her father's house. Not only is her body completely remade, her mind is as well. The consciousness of Magdalena is still there, but the software that was "born" calls herself, "Sapphire".

The story is filled with excitement, anticipation and romance; many bad people want to get their hands on this kind of advanced technology. Deimos, who has also had some bionic alterations, feels an immediate attraction to this young, 18-year old girl. Can he deliver her safely? Can he protect her and his team while under constant attack and numerous problems along the way?

One warning - this story has a QUICK cliffhanger .... the reader will be along for the ride and then the story abruptly ends. However, the story itself was a fascinating read, and is worth moving on to book 2.

I enjoyed the plot of a girl who loses her life and is implanted with an artificial intelligence. We see that it isn't Magdalena the girl who lost her life it is in fact the AI Sapphire. The Adelphi Organization is called in to pick up Magdalena to deliver her to her father Lei. Deimos is in charge of protecting her however everything is not as it seems. I liked Deimos and his nobility but I kind of got tired of his endless diatribe of what ifs. He doesn't really take the full step in being with her and in the end it caused her grief. I want to keep up with this series because it does seem promising. I also understand that this is a type of novella or serial so it is in pieces instead of a regular series.

Oh my goodness. Im not one for the sci-fi type story, but I promised N. Isabelle I would give it a try. I can tell you without a doubt its an awesome read. Maxwell aka Deimos is a man like no other ( he's part bionic) he has a way about him that draws you in from the start and keeps you wanting more from him. Sapphire is something not of this world, but she captures you from her 'shyness' to her fury. Combining these two is promising of something out of this world. Im really looking forward to reading book two in this series. Isabelle did it again, an awesome, sex charge, semi love story.

Futuristically SHMEXY!
Who knew that biometrics was hot?! I didn't until I read the exchange. Alpha men fighting instincts while lust and attractions win over. The intense feeling to protect and claim are felling and emotions that Deimos is not accustomed to having, but one look at Saphire and he was hooked!
I liked the futuristic feel of the story line it was exciting. It also gave sexy a new look!
