Lily #14

Lily's Passport to Paris

Rate this book
Nothing in her previous experience could prepare Lily for what she would encounter in Paris! When Lily befriends a French boy, Christophe, he quickly becomes her “mission,” and she wants to help him in anyway she can. She really likes him―perhaps more than she’d care to admit―but there’s the issue of his sister, who totally hates Lily and will stop at nothing to keep Lily from getting in the way of her plans. Finally, Lily discovers her true God-intended self, and as we leave Lily after fourteen books full of her growing-up adventures, we know her personal gift. And somehow we know she and God together will work out the details.

Nancy Rue is the author of over 100 books for adults and teens, including the Christy Award-winning The Reluctant Prophet, Unexpected Dismounts and Healing Waters (with Steve Arterburn), which was the 2009 Women of Faith Novel of the Year. Nancy lives on a lake in Tennessee with her Harley-ridin’ husband, Jim, and their two yellow Labs (without whom writing would be difficult).

I've been reading Lily the Rebel (the 6th book in the series) before i read this one (which is the 14th and last book).
And in this 14th book, while Lily seemed to have grown up A LOT (she's not as noisy as before, etc, etc), it seems that Rue also has grown up with Lily. Her writing is smoother and deeper, it doesn't have the typical shallow middle school feel to it anymore. (Or is it because she's in Paris instead of school?)
It's such a beautiful novel, and we could see the depth of each character now. Especially Art, since now he's not just your typical annoying-but-kind-of-nice big brother, but a young man trying to make a sense of his life.
I LOVE IT.

I really liked this book. I am glad the author didn't leave us hanging in what happened to Lily and all her friend's. Every time i read this book i cry because it's the end. One thing I noticed about the series is that Lily never tried out anything that was related to her family or friend's "thing" as Lily says. But anyway this book was a good one, and I would recomend it.
