3 1/2 stars. Kindle Unlimited I remember reading this story as a WIP a long time ago. The story begins at the Inn in Lambton that Elizabeth is reading Jane’s letter about the elopement of Lydia. Darcy immediately offers his help. Mr. Bennet is known to the Fitzwilliams from college and is the godfather of Richard. Wickham is found and made to marry Lydia. Once Lydia is married, Bingley and Darcy return to Netherfield to restart their courtships with the Bennet girls. Lady Catherine is quickly defeated since Mr. Bennet also knew Lewis De Bourgh. Happiness all around. MA scenes included in this story
This story started out where Darcy happens upon Elizabeth at the Lambton Inn after she had read her letters from Jane. I love the premise behind this story, though there were parts when the writing seemed juvenile. Characters talking and the character they're talking to repeats what was said in a different way. But I am no "proficient" just a person who reads for enjoyment. If you can look past the grammatical things and enjoy it for entertainment purposes only then I will recommend it to any JAFFer.
Glad this was on kindle unlimited as I had given up after chapter one. The informally of the language was a let down for me, as was the old unlikely chestnut of Darcy and Elizabeth's father's being old university friends.
This was a version in which takes you by surprise. Mr Bennet is so different and friendly. Wickham gets what he deserves, and him and Lydia make it. Lady Catherine loses all the way around. Elizabeth and Darcy make it.
The storyline had potential but it was too rushed - Darcy and Elizabeth were married before we even got halfay through the book. I liked the idea of Darcy staying with Elizabeth at the Inn in Lampton when she gets Jane's letter about Lydia running away. It had so much potential but I thought it was too easy! Wouldn't Elizabeth object to Darcy's strong influence in her families affairs OR if not, I think that Mr Bennet would have objected more-so or at least not liked it so much even if he didn't have much choice. But it was too easy.. Mr Bennet knowing Coronel Fitzwilliam and his father along with Lady Catharine and the details of her husbands will was too much - unbelievable almost. And each conversation, each situation was over too quickly. Things that could have been written over the course of a few pages summaried to one paragraph. I just found it too swift and then the opposite when it came to the marriage bed - too detailed.
