If your school or church is participating in Operation Christmas Child, you should read this book. It will help your participating children visualize where their gift is going and the impact it can have.

Ages: 4 - 12

With each review, I provide a Cleanliness Report, mentioning any objectionable content I come across so that parents and/or conscientious readers (like me) can determine beforehand whether they want to read a book or not. Content surprises are super annoying, especially when you’re 100+ pages in, so here’s my attempt to help you avoid that!

This book was a story about a family that participated in the Operation Christmas Child project by Samaritan's Purse. The family, and eventually the whole community, gives shoeboxes full of food and gifts to families in war-torn Bosnia at Christmas time.

What a beautiful story about a little boy who sees a video on tv about children who are struggling in Bosnia. He finds out about a ministry that gives gifts to children to bring joy to them at Christmas. The gratefulness of the children receiving the gift is beyond comprehension. This book helps children and parents to give to others and be grateful for all that we have. It’s truly a beautiful story of loving others and kindness.

We’ve prepared many shoeboxes over the years. This year, we made 4. This book brought tears to my eyes and encourages me to keep participating in Operation Christmas Child.

We all really enjoyed this book... We've given Christmas boxes through Samaritan's Purse before so that made it quite relatable.

Really good book. This book was based on Operation Christmas Child project by Samaritan's Purse. This would be a good book to read and summarize. Then participate in Operation Christmas Child Project as a class.
