This book would make a great gift for upcoming college graduates. It is a simple, fast read that includes 7 important principles of networking. Ms. Nguyen's candidacy about her faux pays is refreshing for this type of book and a great reminder to young people entering the business world that they will make mistakes, and will go on. As a seasoned business owner myself, it was a reminder to re-incorporate these principles into my daily practice. Well done.

I found this book to be of little actual help to people who want to network their way into a better job. There were a few good suggestions, but the bulk of the book is emails sent back and forth from the author to others. Reading others' emails just isn't that interesting. In one incident, the author got angry with an organization that requested that she remove a Facebook "fan" page and she stubbornly refused. This is one instance in which I think she was wrong and she angered people who were part of an organization she supported. I asked a couple of college students what they would do if they wanted to learn how to network with others. They all said they would do a Google search and look for articles from qualified sources (Harvard Business Review and the like). They also said that most colleges have placement offices with mini courses on networking. That sounds like a lot better plan than reading this book.

I found this book very helpful for me while I started my own consulting company. This book greatly helped me pick up my first client and I have been rolling ever since. Another cool thing about this book is Nancy is happy to answer questions. I emailed her about several questions I had and she responded quickly and with more useful info.

Excellent

A wonderful book on how to start the process of developing a network, besides just getting to know people by opening up yourself to the world around you. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in growing their own circle of friends and business relationships.

Networking books can be very dry reads sometimes. The fact that the author used real life examples of communications and events made the book and lessons more relatable. I liked that it was also a quick read of helpful information for anyone looking to learn about networking.
