When I bought my new laptop, it came with Windows 8. My old laptop had Windows Vista. I didn't know what hit me! So much was different and I felt so frustrated. I figured out how to download an ebook from the library, but ebooks are not the best way to read computer information--you can't see the screenshots!
Easy Computer Basics Windows 8 edition saved me. I learned a lot, reviewed a lot more and generally feel competent again. I'm actually even beginning to like Windows 8!
This reference book was basic, heavily illustrated, and easy-to-follow. I read and used a library loan. The book helped me become more functional with Windows 8. It is very basic and not a book that I would refer to repeatedly, so the library loan was a good choice for my purposes.
