I have no idea how this ended up in my house. I was digging through ancient boxes of books and there it was. Usually, I enjoy reading old kids books from the 50s and 60s. They are fun little time capsules. But this... this is going straight to the recycling bin.
From the cover, I thought it was going to be a boy's adventure story. It wasn't. It was 120 pages of hardcore Evangelical propaganda. Absolutely horrifying. Every page hurt my brain. The writing was so bad that it was actually offensive. Ugh, the whole thing was offensive. It was as if Jack Chick wrote junior novels.
I'm still reeling. Like, it was not just cringey, it was horrifying. They used the accidental death of a wild child who had not "accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior" to make a point, but no one really felt anything for the dead kid, even his father, who just felt bad that he hadn't encouraged him to convert before he died.

I am a Christian. Not that denomination, but still. This just makes theists look stupid. I know it was written in the 50s, but the worst of it is, most modern "Christian" books aren't much better. Absolute dreck.

Ugh, yeah, that left a terrible taste in my mouth.
