This is book 2 of 3 in the 'Running In Fear' series. These books are all just one long story and if you don't start at Book 1 'Running In Fear: Escaped', you will have no idea what is going on.

Please be sure to read the Publisher's blurb first. It has only a vague relationship to this story.

If you have 'fine sensibilities', don't read this review!

This series should be called 'How Much More Hell Will Jaycee Tolerate?' because the first two books are nothing but horrible for our little heroine (who is the only bright spot in the series, even if her hormones rule over her intellect).

Even if you start at Book 1 like I did, you will likely wish you hadn't, although it was a little better than Book 2.

This looooong story has a really dumb female wolf shifter who has the unfortunate situation of being mated to three horrible Alphas (that she 'loves' but doesn't like, since she really doesn't even know them). They lie to her, disrespect her, don't talk to her, don't even know much about her and never ask anything, don't trust her, get her mated to one of them without her knowledge (is that rape, anyone??) and then that same jerk tricks her into becoming pregnant (you have to read the book to learn about that). On top of that they cheat on her with cheap bimbos from their packs, when she is supposed to be the Alpha female. They do everything to her but beat her black and blue, but hey, there is still book 3 to suffer through... stay tuned. (yes there is really rough sex and spanking, flogging, etc). I have never read a book where a woman is vaginally fisted.... this has some truly nasty stuff in it.

After all of these episodes, these creepy jerks proclaim they love her, and she takes them back!! After all, they say that wolves are sensual beings and she didn't want to sleep with them because she was knifed in the gut (first cheating episode), and the second time she walks in on fellatio being performed on her kitchen table by her own mates, but that's her fault, too. The poor dudes can't have one night without an orgy!

Also, I highlighted 21 errors on my Kindle. I think this was just typed rapidly with MS Word, and you know how stupid the spell-check can be on that. If there was any Editor at all, they should be fired.

I bought all three of these, and I have already read about 10 pages of Book 3 and I am already irritated with that.

Title: Running in Fear Book 2 - Abandoned
Author: Trinity Blacio
Publisher: Riverdale Avenue Books
Date of Publishing: 2-4-2017

I know that men as a whole usually have a hard time with the romance department, buy Jaycee's mates are supposedly mature men who have been living in the adult world for more that few years. When it comes to their pack their right on it, but when it comes to Jaycee it is like she is an after thought, taken off the shelf when they want something. They have their moments of sweetness and being contrite but it seems they can't help screwing things up again. In "Abandoned" they do it ROYALLY! How do they come back from their mistake and regain Jaycee's trust and heart? I can't tell you what they did without telling the whole plot, but you will seethe at the though of your mate ever even thinking of trying it. Their words and actions cut deep.

Feeling the emotions of Jaycee are easy with this book. Ms. Blacio manipulates our hearts and feelings like a master fiddler does a violin. There is plenty of action and some humor to be enjoyed as well. Especially finally pushes Jaycee to far and she uses her magic on him, then Mark. From laughter to tear and from Joy to the deepest despair you will feel it al as Dane, Mark, Remi continue their path of discovering what the future holds for them. Will another's life be forfeit or can they come through it together? Will the danger and threats that surrounds them pull them together or apart?

I gave "Running in Fear Book 2 - Abandoned" a 4.5 out of a total of 5 stars.

The second in the 'Running in Fear' series, "Abandoned" continues with Jaycee and her packmates. Jaycee comes into her own identity more when she leaves Remi, Dane, and Mark to heal her heart. The story had more depth with Jaycee going back to a home and friends she considers family, while we learn more of Jaycee's past. It was hard at times to like her Alpha mates because of the things they did and the humiliation she suffered at their hands. It was a very sad and tearful part of the story, and I am still not sure how I feel about the Alpha guys yet. I am just not sure I could be as forgiving, but the story continues, getting better as the plotline moves along. Although a continuing story, each installment has a resolution to that part of the story, but still just ends. My biggest critique is the cliffhanger without notice. I would like to see authors post if the book ends without resolution, so readers could be more informed when they buy a book. Overall, I enjoyed this part of the story and look forward to seeing a complete HEA for Jaycee and her packmates. I would like to thank NetGalley and the pub. for gifting me "Abandoned". My opinion is my own. This is mine 4 Stars!

This is the second book in the Running in Fear series and the first book from this series for me. Even though I have not read the first I was able to pick up very quickly with the characters and the story line. I found this book to be an enjoyable read. So much going on in this story; betrayal, which could have been avoided if they just showed a little respect, losses which I won’t say what was lost, and new characters added to the series. As lucky as Jaycee is to have three men in her bed that just means three times the heart ache and let me let you my heart was breaking for her as well. Will Jaycee and her men work things out? Or will she have to always deal with the mental pain? I hope things are better for the mated group in the next book! When they listen to each other they do make better mates.

***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!

Abandoned by Trinity Blacio is the second book in the Running in Fear series. This is not a standalone book, must be read in order. This book picks up where the first book left off.
Jaycee is finding herself. Finally coming into her own.
Her loves though have a hard time understanding her. That was frustrating for me to read. I wanted to hit Remi, Mark, and Dane more than once.
At the end though this is a strong book with great characters I want to know more of. I would like to see more from this series. I think there is a lot left to say. If you are a fan I think you will very much enjoy watching Jaycee finally find herself and what she wants out of life.

I really enjoyed the second instalment of the Running in Fear series, it was every bit as intense as the first book, plenty of drama, witch craft and hilarity. Trouble seems to follow Jaycee, and life with three alpha mates isn't easy, so when they push her too far she runs to her Mama Marsha, who needs to pass on her lessons in witch craft for protection. This book was an emotional roller-coaster that had me laughing and crying, and wanting to smack those men, but I keep coming back for more, I can't wait to start book 3. Michelle Jones narrated beautifully again.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. This is the 2nd book in the series and so far they are getting even better, if that is possible. Jaycee has endured so much hurt and pain in the past and now that she is mated it seems she and her 3 mates hurt each other. The story involves loves, betrayal, hurt, danger and the sex is very erotic. It is a well written book (but it had a lot of grammatical errors) and I would highly recommend this book.

I received a free copy from NetGalley; this is my honest review.
This is the 2nd time I left a 3 stars on a Blacio book. After reading book #1, I was a little worried; it took me up to about the middle of the book to get into it. Jaycee doesn't do anything in half: she grabs food instead of picking it up, she slams the doors instead of closing them, she runs instead of walking. Maybe she does have a reason but by the end of the book I was really tired of her and I could feel for her mates. On the other side, I don't like people breaking their promises or not taking care of either physical or emotional needs, hence the title, like the bond should have done; so I was a bit miffed and mystified at the same time. Here too we are left with a cliffhanger since I didn't feel an HFN either.

I was given this book as an ARC from Netgalley and the author. This book is just a continuation of the same. I believe this story and the others I have read could have been combined into one book. Also there are cliffhangers with all the books that I have read. There's also some repetitiveness showing up in these stories.

I had mix feelings about this audiobook. I pretty much like everything I listened to, and give them 5 stars. It’s rare that I give a 3 star. I really loved book 1. The relationship that the main characters had which was more down and then up, gave me whiplash. I did feel bad for Jaycee. I hope the next one is good like the 1st one.

I received a copy of "Abandoned" from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I wanted to read "Abandoned", the second book in The Running in Fear series, because "Escaped" captured my attention and heart with the characters and story line. I had hoped "Abandoned would be as well written as "escaped". I was wrong. It was even better.

The sensual scenes will have you melting into a puddle but it was Jaycee and her emotional responses that had me glued to the story. At one point had me ready to track her mates down with a shotgun so I could fill their tails with buckshot. Another had me in tears as Jaycee's utter despair came to life off the pages and I wanted to hold her and tell her they were not worth her pain. She was a special person that deserved so much more.

Every time Remi, Mark and Dane act like they might finally understand her they totally break her heart and her hopes for a future with them. In Abandoned the women of the pack stand around Jaycee and show the men where the true power lays in a family. Time to learn your lesson boys and Dad too. If you are looking for a story to have your heart racing for your own mate and breaking for such a believable character, then pick up this fast moving, well written story that shows erotica is more than the sex in the story. "Abandoned" is one of the few adult romances I have given a 5 star rating to. I am eagerly awaiting the release of "Coming Home" soon.

Part II of Jaycee's story, a shape-shifter that was misused and abused often in her growing-up years by stepfathers and people in her parents' circle of friends. She escaped their hurtful world and found her mates--several Alphas who joined their packs together as they joined in their relationship and allegiance to Jaycee. But their attention was always somewhere else--as much as they seemed to want to be with her, when she was really in trouble or when some of her old hurtful enemies attacked her once again, they were off doing their own thing, never "there" for her.

Now she has accepted that these Alphas are her mates and is willing to live with them as the Alpha-fem of the combined pack. She has even grown enough in her understanding of herself to actually act like the Alpha again other females who would seek to dislodge her from her position. But the disregard and inattention of her mates continues, and many of their actions continue to tell her loudly that she is only once again being used rather than cherished.

This is a very emotional conclusion to this two-part saga and readers of paranormal romance need to be ready for lots of ups and downs. Jaycee seems like a very unstable person, but considering what she has had to contend with in her short life, her responses to the brazen and uncaring actions of her mates can more easily be understood. I thought it was a very good book and liked it a lot. I'm glad to have finally read Jaycee's complete story. I read and reviewed Part I some months ago. Not necessarily an easy or simple story to read.

I enjoyed this one more than the first. Things have gotten safer for Jaycee to live without constantly looking over her shoulder. But she is still unsure of the relationship with her and her mates. It becomes even more unsure for her when she sees them not pushing away women coming on to them. Then finding them in the kitchen of her home being intimate with a couple of women. Her mates seem to have no remorse of for what they have done. Jaycee runs once again to clear her head and figure things out. She cannot get hurt any more mentally, physically or emotionally. She just will not allow it to happen again. Will her mates realize what they have done or will they continue their hurtful ways towards Jaycee?

There is more sex in this book than the first and not as aggressive. There are also M/M and M/M/F/M scenes that get the imagination flowing. I hope things get better for this mated group in the next book. They all are really good together when they are at peace.

With three mates, Jaycee Manz should be filling her days with love and comfort from her mates but her reality is far from the dream she has always envisioned for her future. Remi, Dane, and Mark are not sure how to handle their mate, when they think they have figured it out it seems to spiral out of control driving a wedge between their mate and them.

Again, there are things I really liked in this book but on the other hand Remi and Dane in particular ticked me off, how clueless could they possibly be? There are times that Jaycee is all over the map with her emotions and you want to throttle her, but something about this series seems to keep me captivated wanting to read more. Maybe because it is not predictable.

Just say no to this book. I never thought i'd ever utter those words or write about them. I mean can a stry get from bad to worse. Why yes it can in this series. What kind of shifter male really do to destroy a budding relationship with their mate? I mean shifter males are supposed to be more faithful to their mates and not hurt them. But in this case oh my God. Can a female lead be anymore weak and a pushover in this one. She witnessed their underhandedness and cheating. It was in her own home. This just shows you these males were really unworthy for their alpha status. What happened towards actually moving slow? Or even yet, towards actually having this female actually have a backbone and make them really work for her. This story was insulting.

Ok. I really don't like Jaycee's mates. In fact they are heroes I am loving to hate. I can't get over the shit they do to her. WTH! She's crazy! I would've killed them all. By the ending of this book they start to redeem themselves a little. I am hoping the last book is better and they really learned how to treat a mate.

I have only read the first two books in this series and will not read anymore.

This series plays out like a classic case of spousal abuse only this poor woman has to take it from multiple men because they are mates.

This is Book 2 in the Running in Fear series. It can be read as a stand alone but there are some things that would be more understandable if you read the first book. I have to say there are a couple of parts that I cried and another couple where I could have cheerfully stomped three wolves butts! Jaycee goes through a lot in this book with her three mates. It’s a bad situation but a great book! I will be reading book 1 and then this book again cause it’s just that good! I received a copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
