The SparkNotes 101 series is a one-stop course companion or students. Each book in the series uses clear, readable language to explain and analyze the complex works students are reading. Covers each and every play Shakespeare wrote, as well as 20 of his most important sonnets. Each entry includes character lists, one-sentence breakdowns of every scene and act, scene-by-scene plot summaries, analyses of major characters, key themes, symbols, motifs, and quotations.

Many of the editions by this group of authors are actually guides to books rather than the works.

If the author of the SparkNotes is known, they should be the first author. Please leave these SparkNotes Editors as the second author and the author of the original work as the last author. Do not combine with the original work. Do not put the author of the ORIGINAL work first.

This was a really helpful companion during my Shakespeare class. It allowed me to read sections of the play and then double check that I was actually getting the proper plot points. Honest, that's what I did! It was detailed enough to be clear but concise enough to not be overwhelming. Definitely recommended for those who may struggle with complete comprehension.
