That is the simple brief with which this anthology began.
On September the 10 PageTurners put out a call for written entries for an upcoming anthology; any submission which gave insight into a particular society would be considered regardless of whether the writer had grown up there, had been introduced or had simply caught a fleeting glimpse.
This is a collection of the best submissions: short stories, poetry, flash fiction and creative non-fiction which communicate an experience, an attitude: a snapshot of a culture that exists or has existed.
Between these covers there is war, love, betrayal, confusion and oppression. There is friendship, joy and laughter. There are families, enemies and passing acquaintances. The tales span continents and time periods to examine the finest details of everyday life.
