I'm a professional and affordable editor running Inventing Reality Editing Service, which meets the manuscript needs of writers both new and published. During the past five years, I've helped more than 300 authors achieve their dreams of publication. In addition, for more than two decades, I worked as an award-winning journalist, with half of those years spent as an editor. I'm also the author of the "7 Minutes a Day..." writing guidebooks, the nonfiction "Hikes with Tykes", "Hittin' the Trail", "Best Sights to See," and "Headin' to the Cabin" hiking guidebook series, and the literary novel "Windmill". Several of my short stories have been published in literary and science fiction magazines. For seven years, I worked as an English teacher or a community college journalism instructor. I hold a Master's degree in English and a Bachelor's in English and journalism.

Having written a couple of science fiction novels, I've been thinking about going the self-publishing route at a time when big publishing houses just aren't printing books by new authors. I had no idea how to do that, though - lots of blogs approach the topic like you already know what you're doing, and every book I've read so far on the subject was disorganized and only left me more confused. This book, however, actually explained the whole process is a very easy to understand way and lays out a step-by-step plan to bring your manuscript from a file on your computer to an actual published book that you're selling. Even better, this book is part of a series that takes the mystery out of writing, self-publishing and promoting your book. You actually can start with your dream and achieve it! Before following the advice in this book, I'm going to read the first volume in the series about writing a novel just to ensure that what I've written actually makes sense!

Brilliant book, concise with great advice, and got me through self-publishing my first book step-by-step. I did read and use other books as well, but this one provided a great framework for understanding and carrying out my very first self-publishing process. I will refer to it also when I publish to my soon coming books as well. I highly recommend this book.

Great book for those, like myself, who are brand new to the self-publishing scene. Easy to understand, step-by-step instructions that take the guesswork out of the equation! Highly recommend!
