Robert J. Grover is retired Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies at Emporia State University, where he had held the position of Dean and Professor of the School of Library and Information Management; has also held faculty positions the University of South Florida and University of Southern California; he earned his M.L.S. and Ph.D. from Indiana University and has co-authored Assessing Information Needs and Helping Those Experiencing Loss, both published by Libraries Unlimited.

The multi-author book opens and enlightens those that may have overlooked a vast resource right within your community. Utilizing your local library and specifically, the Librarian. The book serves as an excellent text reference and is filled with valuable information and resources to assist and aid the writer in understanding the decisions and assistance available when pursuing the process of authoring and publishing a book. The book’s ten chapters provide some initial history while laying the foundation for self-publishing. The carefully orchestrated chapters proceed to break down key self-publishing elements, available library tools, along with reminders of just how helpful the Librarian can be in assisting your needs and efforts. The authors provide very informative and useful collaborative references along with media options to consider to support the processes of self-publishing.

With the vast changes in publishing, it may surprise and serve you well to checkout your local library for the assistance available right in your local community. Plenty of excellent reference material is included in this book as well.
