Archangels and Ascended Masters: A Guide to Working and Healing with Divinities and Deities

Rate this book
These are the types of questions that Doreen Virtue is regularly asked by her readers and workshop attendees. So, finding no comprehensive book that listed New Age and Old Age deities, Doreen knew that she needed to write one herself. Archangels and Ascended Masters is a thoroughly researched book in a lively encyclopedia format, listing 77 divinities from Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Asian, Babylonian, Tibetan, Buddhist, Celtic, Theosophical, New Age, Catholic, Cabalistic, Jewish, and Christian roots. Doreen carefully studied and wrote about the history of each of the deities, what role they serve today, how they can help us with specific life problems, and how to call upon each one. Doreen spent time in communication with each divinity to ensure that the being was reachable, and to discover the essence of his or her personality and current dealings with the world -- and within these pages, she includes a channeled message or impression from each of the ascended masters and archangels. Many of her channelings were conducted at power points throughout the world, such as Stonehenge in England; the Irish coast; Kona, Hawaii; and the New Zealand rain forest. A comprehensive chart lists a number of life situations such as Addictions, Finding a Soulmate, Emergency Money, Healing Physical Illness, and various personal and family concerns. Beneath each topic is a list of whom to call upon when dealing with that particular challenge. Doreen also includes prayers to help you call upon multiple divinities for specific issues such as "increased clairvoyance" and "resolving conflict."

Please do not buy my old books or cards, as I have repented and denounced them after Jesus saved me and opened my eyes to new age deception.

Here is my testimony of why I left the new age to follow Jesus: https://youtu.be/zZSH8mvIbdk

This is an excellent reference book for learning about Archangels and Ascended Masters about their history in human life during their time, how they helped other people during their time and how it resolves the negative energy into positive energy by using any of the Archangels Or Ascended Masters to help you guide you to the positive spiritual, physical or Mental path of good energy. I give this book 5 stars.

I keep this book on my nightstand, and thumb through it constantly. A must-read for anyone interested in healing works & prayer, especially anyone interested in Buddist, Catholic, Jewish, New Age and classical studies. As well, there are some beautiful invocations and prayers in the back of the book. The book also includes a compendium of the Archangels. There are prayers for global and personal peace, prayers to heal an ailing pet - even prayers and invocations to further your yoga practice and chosen dietary paths. A must have reference book!

A great reference book. I love the way Doreen has the index in the back so you can either look up by Archangels or look up the particular issue you want help with.

I have to say I completely believe that all we have to do is ask for help from the angelic realm and they instantly are there to help us. Not saying that prayer alone doesn't work; I've jsut noticed that I feel closer to the angels when I know a name of who to ask for when dealing with a specific problem/issue. I recommend everyone read this awesome book and keep it on hand for easy reference!

This book can be regarded as a handbook, guidebook or reference book on the subject og archangels, various divinities and the like.

The innumerable archangels, goddesses, gods, ascended masters etc are listed in alphabetical order. A couple of pages of information are given for each being.

The author encounters these various beings in diverse nature or power spots around the globe. In each case she provides us with a basic description of the being, including historical or mythical information, then quotes the being's message to her/us, tells us what it helps with, and ends with an example of an invocation we can use to contact it and ask for help.

The message from each entity is full of wisdom and good advice, and one is in no doubt that this message truly comes from a high being. Doreen also provides us with a description of the being's appearance and how it was behaving as it appeared to her.

I was struck by the fact that Doreen's description of Ashtar, head of "the Ashtar Command", particularly her information that his mission is to avert nuclear war on Earth, fitted exactly with something I have read in Mike Oram's book "Does it rain in other dimenstions". There we are given the precise wording of a message from a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command which some years ago was forcibly transmitted via a British TV channel (the TV people found themselves unable to do anything to prevent the transmission). The gist of the message was, as far as I remember, that it was imperative that we do something about our experiments with nuclear energy.

I was attracted to many of the beings listed and described by Doreen. Yogananda, for instance, who works with Jesus. He tells us that to contact him (Yogananda) we should meditate while mentally repeating the word "love" and simultaneously holding the intention of contacting him.

Many, many fascinating and potentially extremely helpful beings are listed, And one is left in no doubt that these beings DO respond to us when we contact them. (I personally experienced that when I called on Jesus - who is also included in the book - on behalf of another in dire need of help, the condition of this person immediately improved.

At the end of the book we are provided with useful prayers to connect with "multiple divinities, for specific needs" - these needs being, for instance, obtaining abundance, help with addictions, obtaining clairvoyant abilities, clear communication with God, connecting with the fairies, etc etc.

There is also a list of various headings, under which are stated the names of all those deities that can help with the subject in question. For instance, under "Abundance" are listed Abundantis, Coventina, Damara, Dana, Ganesh, Lakshmi and Sedna.

An invaluable book to have by your bedside to use in times of need. I strongly recommend that you buy this book if you have a desire to work with any of these various divinites, or them all!

I loved this book, it really made me open my mind to what is out there, and who we can ask for help. I now know who to ask for help for different situations, and I feel my prayers are answered and I understand the heavens. I feel like I can pray freely, without restriction, and that God has no restrictions and conditions. So many people have the concept of religion wrong. It really is so simple & basic My whole idea of religion has changed, I feel as if I belong somewhere now and know I can just ask for guidance, help, and I will get it. The book is a joy to read, totally heart warming....I am so happy I read it. I attended an Ascended Masters and Archangel Course this book was part of the course given to all students to keep. I keep it in my bag and refer to it often. Please read it, its beautiful. The book has probed me into looking at other books by DV, looking forward to it:) Bless the Heavens!! :)

For a variety of reasons, I picked up this book, and while I find the treatment of each "character" rather superficial, the fact that so many of them are collected in one place makes this a useful reference. A few did resonate with me (especially Archangel Gabriel, who had appeared in an encouraging card reading a few weeks ago). i notice the author has a whole bunch of these types of books out, dealing mainly with angels and the like. Eh. Makes me hesitant to go beyond this one book. Oh, and the oracle cards I've ordered on amazon.com, LoL!

A great book for dipping in and out of. Very user friendly. It's simple to locate the Ascended Master you want, and the information available is concise, but with plenty to spur you on to discover more.
I love the fact that Dr Virtue also gives a list of the areas in which each divinity can help.

She is a very compassionate and interesting writer who tells you the connections with the angels and ascended masters. She gives you basic information about them and her encounters with them or with their energy. Very useful book if you are writing blogs on the topic.

2nd Reading.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

I thought this book was a great beginner's guide to angels, and deities of all kinds. I read the kindle version (thanks to hay house for having so many kindle books available while I was living abroad). I liked that Virtue inlcuded categories of the areas that each deity or angel can help with and also that this book is not oriented to anyone of a particular religion.

I found this book really intense. As I was reading about each entity, some of them came through and I felt intense energy shifts. In particular, I know I will be working with Aphrodite, Ganesh, and several spirits for protecting the home in the future. The section on Quan Yin made me cry and released something big.

I will keep this one in my library. I have many friends who believe in angels as beings who interact with them in present day. I'm skeptical however and tend to stay with my understanding of them as celestial beings who serve the Creator. That said, this is an interesting description of the more metaphysical angels and Doreen Virtue is a prolific and respected author of metaphysical literature.

I was looking forward to reading this book and gaining insight into some of Doreen's deeper knowledge. It only provides short descriptions of the Archangels and Ascended Masters, together with beautiful illustrations, that can be found elsewhere in her work. It is good, but not great.

I LOVE this book and I'm a huge Doreen Virtue fan. This book I keep at my bedstand and use as a reference book all the time. You don't read it from cover to cover you just pick it up when your guides are calling to you.

Good basic reference guide. I enjoyed the invocations and reading about some of the masters I had never previously heard of. It was interesting to read her interpretations of each of the angels and masters personalities as well...

Archangels and Ascended Masters offers an interfaith and cross-cultural exploration of the realm of divine beings, providing readers with guidance on working and healing with archangels, ascended masters and other celestial entities. The book serves as a valuable resource for those seeking to perhaps start a spiritual connection and harness the power of these divine beings.

The book introduces readers to a wide range of divine beings, providing detailed descriptions of their attributes, roles, and areas of expertise. It explores the concept of divine hierarchies and the different levels of consciousness at which these beings operate. Additionally, the author offers practical advice on how to connect with divine beings through meditation, visualization, and invocation, emphasizing the importance of developing a personal relationship with these beings and seeking their guidance and support in various aspects of life.

The book also explores the healing properties of divine energy and how to channel this energy for personal transformation and the well-being of others. It discusses different healing modalities, such as Reiki, angelic healing, and the use of sacred geometry.

While the book provides valuable insights into the realm of divine beings, it is disappointing to learn that Virtue, a character associated with the book or its author, has chosen to follow a fundamentalist Christian path. This decision seems counterintuitive given her apparent gift and understanding of the divine. It raises questions about the relationship between spiritual exploration and religious dogma, and the potential limitations imposed by adherence to a particular belief system.

Overall, Archangels and Ascended Masters is a valuable resource for those seeking to deepen their spiritual connection and explore the realm of divine beings. It provides practical guidance on working with archangels, ascended masters, and other celestial entities, offering insights into healing, personal transformation, and spiritual growth. While the disappointment of Virtue's path may be a point of contention for some readers, the book's overall value lies in its ability to empower individuals to connect with the divine and harness its transformative energy.

As almost all of Doreen Virtue's books, this is a weird one.
It has a pretty alright collection of deities and ascended masters, nothing too obscure. A few things stood out. Virtue admits she couldn't find much on certain ascended masters, so she reached out to them personally. It's fascinating that none of this alleged communication or "channeling" is referenced again. I also wonder which masters she was talking about in the first place. I'll leave it at that.
Then Virtue also claims that Martin Luther King Jr. is a newly ascended master. Oh, and John Denver. You know, the singer. Also Mother Theresa, the woman who denied HIV poitive people condoms because of her hatefest religion Catholicism, with which she caused an epidemic of sickness and death like you've hardly ever seen before. She did worse than that even, Google is your friend, poor soul. I just can't fathom how people gobble up shit and pretend it tastes like chocolate. Has anyone even heard of research?!
Anyhow. I'm surprised Doreen didn't claim she herself was an ascended master too. 😆 But John Denver it is. She claims you can pray to these newly ascended masters, and they'll help you too.
There's some fear-mongering, which is typical for new ageism, when she states that if you call on the deities and masters with anything less than total love in your heart, you better watch out. Cause revenge or anything like that will come back to you threefold or whatever. Lady, don't cherry-pick crap from Wicca. There's literally deities in this book (Toth, and the murderer Moses, just to name two, and let's not forget Maha Kali is literally the devourer, the destroyer, the Goddess depicted with decapitated male heads in her hands) who are anything but (just) cuddly and kind. To deny that is to deny reality and nature. Nature is gray. That's a thing you know now. You're welcome.
All this being said, it's still a very okay book. 2-2.5 stars from me.

It took me a long time to get to this book and I'm happy I finally got into it. I have been interested in the subject of angels for sometime and this is the perfect book for an introduction to each Archangel and Ascended Masters.
Doreen Virtue list severy one with a description and the particular aspects of life they are helpful for. One of her suggestions is to read the back of the book for the particular topic of help that you are looking for then to read the particular angel passage to become familiar with each one and what they attend to. She has suggested as well, to think of an issue you have and want help with and use the book as an oracle. Flip through the pages until you stop on one, read the particular angel description and see if it applies to you and what you wanted the help with.
I am hoping over time that I will put this book to use and become familiar with the different angels and incorporate them into my life.
Great starter book.
