Foster! Okay, so I may have a wee bit of a crush on Ian Foster. And by wee, I mean huge. There is something about him that just riles me up and turns me on! In these two installments, we get to know him so much more. We find out who he is and what makes him tick. And, finally, the Dom is learning to be dominant outside of The Ranch. Which Cela seriously needs. I am very glad to see her loosening her dads shackles because, dang, Foster’s are so much more appealing. *wink*

In Not Until You Beg, things for Cela and Foster take a serious turn. Tired of living under her dad's thumb, Cela decides to live her life - her way. Which means all she wants is Foster. Needing to find him, show him how she feels, she convinces her bother (Andre from Melt into You) to take her to The Ranch. And what happens at The Ranch, doesn't stay at The Ranch. Foster is tired of playing pretend, so Cela needs to learn to embrace her submissive side. But it isn't easy. Actually, it's terrifying but also freeing. These two have a ton of work ahead of them.

In Not Until You Surrender, well, there are a lot of steps forward and a lot of steps back. The trust built between these two is very tentative and new. And easily broken. When Cela gets caught telling a little white lie, Foster metes out punishment that is painful and surprisingly pleasurable. But that tiny lie only reinforces the doubts Foster has... and, well, these two had me tearing up by the end. Just when I thought they were on the right track, building trust between them, learning about each other - wham! - bring on the heartache and the crying.

Roni Loren is driving me crazy! Every time an installment comes to an end, I find myself saying, “No no no! Don’t stop!” This is especially true of this last installment. Where it cuts off – argh! Killing. Me. Torture. But I love it. Keep it coming.

Dammit I almost cried with this one. Had to put it down for a few so I wouldn't cry. Things from bad to worst for Cela after her fight with Foster. He ask for her to trust him but she says something and he gives up on her. Foster doesn't trust Cela. He keeps thinking she's going to walk away and won't fight for her.

Cela is very skittish because this is all new to her and she's trying to get to know Foster. He says she keeps things from her but he isn't all that open with her. He isn't fair to Cela because he keeps thinking she'll be like his ex and sooner or later she will walk away.

I think Foster needs to trust Cela the way he ask her to trust him. I was beginning to miss Pike. Glad there was a little bit of him in this one.

I can't wait for the next one but I don't want it to end and I hope I don't end up in tears with the next installment.

Okay I seriously love this book....Foster is so screwing up & Cela is showing signs of being a very independent woman up to a point. How can one sentence send someone so over the top that everything is brought to a halt? Seriously Foster needs to mellow a little but I still love him. Can't wait for #7 now...damn this summer is going by faster than I want it to, because I can't wait for these books to come out each week. So LOVE your series Roni!!!!

Length: 60 pages(ish) each
Series: Loving on the Edge #3.51 - 3.58

Overview(s)

Not Until You Dare:

On the night of her graduation, innocent veterinary student Cela decides to play a game of Never Have I Ever with the two hot neighbors she’s been quietly crushing on for the last year. Always the prim and proper student, Cela thinks she’s earned a wild night before she has to move back home under the watchful gaze of her family. But what starts out as a simple game is about to take a very sensual turn...

Ian Foster is tired of playing games. With his membership to The Ranch, an exclusive BDSM resort, and a musician roommate named Pike who brings home groupies with a taste for ménage, Foster has a life most guys would kill for. But lately, his need for dominance is no longer satisfied via one-night stands. He craves the full surrender of one woman—a submissive of his own.

But when his quiet, sweet-as-sugar neighbor shows up at their door with a bottle of tequila and an invitation, Foster decides he and Pike may have time for one more fling…

Not Until You Risk

Cela’s sexy game of Never Have I Ever with her neighbors has turned into a night of Truth or Dare, with her revealing her deepest desires and letting go like she’s never done before. After some seductive dancing, the trio decides to move to a more private location: a swanky hotel where Foster is determined to explore Cela’s wildest fantasies.

As the heat between the three begins to sizzle, Cela finds herself drawn to Foster, whose dominance over her is almost too much to handle. But Cela’s got a secret she hasn’t yet shared, something that could bring their passionate encounter to a screeching halt…

Not Until You Crave

As the threesome returns home from their wild night, Foster is still reeling from the truth about Cela and angry at himself for feeling more than he should for a one night stand. So when he’s confronted by Cela’s angry and protective older brother, he agrees to stay away from his alluring neighbor. He knows he’s got no business messing with a vanilla girl—especially one who tests his self-control at every turn.

Cela’s still not ready to give up on Foster or the intense connection they shared. So when a harmless midnight texting session turns into an irresistible invitation, she can’t say no. But later when she runs into Foster dressed in leather pants and heading out for a late night at The Ranch, she begins to grasp that there’s a whole other side to him she never imagined—a darkness that both intrigues and terrifies her...

Not Until You Trust

Despite desperately wanting to satisfy her curiosity, Foster is not about to introduce Cela to his true dominant side. For one thing, she’s far too innocent to participate in that kind of lifestyle; for another, he doesn’t want to get attached when she’ll be leaving town so soon. But when he comes home after a frustrating day and finds Cela hanging out with Pike, all of Foster’s possessive urges rise to the surface.
Cela is left breathless and shaken after getting a glimpse of Foster’s dominance unleashed. Maybe he was right, and she isn’t ready for something so intense. But when she can’t get her mind off their nights together, she comes up with a daring plan to see just how much they’re both willing to risk…

Not Until You Beg

Foster has been pushed past the point of temptation. So even though he fears Cela’s interest in his world is a passing whim, he agrees to teach her the art of submission. But he’s not going to hold anything back—if she wants to see this side of him, he’s going to show her how deep his dominance runs.

Cela’s initial intrigue begins to give way to doubt as she struggles with the submissive role and the desires it stirs within her. Having spent her whole life being controlled by her domineering father, she’s unsure if she’s ready to put herself under the command of another man. But when she breaks Foster’s most important rule, she puts herself in a situation more intense than she bargained for…

Not Until You Surrender

Cela willingly accepts Foster’s difficult penalty for what she’s done and finds herself more vulnerable and more attracted to him than ever. Unfortunately, she’s also more confused. She’s drawn to Foster’s dark desires but scared by the intensity of her surrender and her growing need for him. So as outside pressures mount, how is she supposed to make the hardest decision of her life?

Foster is falling further and further for Cela, but right as he’s tempted to tell her how he feels, she approaches him with a heartbreaking proposition. There isn’t much Foster wouldn’t sacrifice for Cela’s happiness, but this time that may mean watching the girl he could truly love walk away..

Not Until You Believe

Having flirted with forbidden desires, Cela leaves Foster and returns home to her small Texas town to work in her father’s veterinary practice and embrace a “normal” life. Everything is exactly how she left it—everything except her. But Foster made his feelings clear about their relationship, and she’s determined to find a way forward without him...even if her heart refuses to let go.

Foster knows that he made a mistake in letting Cela go before he told her his true feelings. Intending to set things right, he goes to her hometown to lay himself bare. But when he gets there, he sees Cela in a compromising situation that makes him doubt that they had anything special at all...

Not Until You Love

When Cela walked into his life, scared, innocent, and seeking thrills beyond her wildest dreams, Foster never expected she could become the submissive he’s always desired. Cela has changed, has blossomed into something he can’t resist, and she’s ready and willing to surrender to Foster fully.

But when devastating news reminds Foster how tragically he failed to take care of someone he loved in the past, he wonders what right he has to be with a woman as beautiful and vibrant as Cela. She’ll leave eventually anyway—everyone always does.

But Cela isn’t about to let Foster chase her away. Can she convince this dominant playboy that her love for him is here to stay?

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this story. i think that it was a reprieve from what i felt yesterday after reading Fall Into You. Anyhow, we are introduced right off the bat to Cela (Marcela) who just happens to be Andre's little sister. That's foreboding if I ever heard it myself. We meet her on the night of her graduation from Vet school when we see her coming home after the ceremony alone w/ a bottle of Tequila. She runs into her two sexy neighbors so you know where this has to go. Alcohol and sexy neighbor boys - and an innocent girl. Yup, my mind goes there.

What we get through this series of stories is what i thought was truly going to be another menage situation with interesting dynamic and power struggles across the board, but we don't get that at all. There are certainly power struggles between Cela and Foster, but Pike turns out to be an all around good guy that's really just a side character.

The nice thing about this installment of the bigger series is that we get the great D/s dynamic, but it's similar to what i got from Cerise Sinclair's Master of the Shadowlands series where the sub isn't really 100% decided that she wants to be part of the scene or even knows what she's getting into. Cela gives Foster a bit of a struggle at EVERY turn and that makes for some very steamy scenes when she does submit. We learn a lot about the level of Pain that Foster likes and how much Cela is willing to put out there without compromising her job, freedom, family and everything else.

What's really nice too is that we get to see Andre interspersed here as well - so you never know what's going to happen. We know that he's hiding his relationship situation from his sister and their family so that's something that I know i kept wondering if i'd see get played out here.

The other great thing about this series of chapters is that Foster has on the surface a charmed life, but it's not ever that easy - and that's kind of what makes him the way that he is - controlling, dominating and into pain. He has this haunted past that really makes us wish for the best outcome, but that would be too nice and tidy if that were the case.

In any event i feel much better about this whole 'Loving on the Edge' series now and thankfully Caught Up In You comes out very soon so we get the next installment even before i've had a chance to cool off from this one. Very steamy, very naughty, and very dynamic.

The books are part of an 8 volume serial. Basically one book split up into 8 parts. Normally I avoid serials entirely, but part 1 was free and I've heard some great things about Roni Loren's books. Wow, was I glad I picked up part 1! Not Until You will forever be one of my all-time favorite books and Roni Loren has landed on my top 5 list of one-click authors!

Cela Medina is as straight-arrow as they come. The straight-A student, perfectionist that always chose school and studying over friends and parties. But now she's graduated from college and is about to move back home and start her life under the watchful eye of her family. So when she sees her super hot neighbors, Foster and Pike on the night of her graduation she thinks why the hell not. Judging by the noises she's heard through the thin walls of her apartment and the women the two men share, it should be the kind of wild night she deserves.

But she soon learns that Foster is a member of the exclusive BDSM resort, The Ranch, and he's not looking for a fling or a one-night stand. He wants a woman that will stick around and surrender to him. To be his submissive.

Now here's why I loved Roni Loren's writing. Her style was so superbly written, that for someone like me who will never understand the lifestyle could get sucked into the story and feel as if I did. Roni pulled me in so deep that I was experiencing Cela's desire to be with Foster and his dark yet exciting ways. Now, this isn't the first time an author has done this for me. But we're talking about subjects that are way beyond my comprehension. What really made Roni's writing stand out was the way the characters expressed their feelings and actions. Every word and scene was in there for a reason, not like so many books I've read that made me wonder… why do I need to know this? Or worse, why is the author repeating it yet again? The writing was organic and flowed nicely.

And I especially loved how each character overcame something in the story. In my opinion, this is a must for a good book. They should learn something or get passed something from their past that will make them a better person. The kind of person the love of their life deserves. It just makes me as a reader feel like now, finally, they can have their happily ever after.

Cela's moment had me tearing up. But Foster's! Oh, my God, I cried like a baby. Interested? Read the books!

Ménage… BDSM… not my thing. But Roni Loren can write about anything and I'll read it!

So why not 5 out of 5? There were some minor editorial issues. Each of the volumes had something in it. Switching from first person to third within a sentence. (Celea's POV was written in first and Foster's was in third.) And some missing words here and there.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com.

Cela discovers that she hurt Foster when she lied to him, because it made him believe she wasn’t taking him or their new relationship seriously. She also seems to understand that his concern for her safety and well-being was genuine and not a way to control her the way her father has up until now. Yet when Foster attempts to mark her as his by requesting she wear one of the location tracking ankle bracelets made by his company, she reverts to her original worry that he’s trying to control her life just like her father and asks him for more time to consider his request. Foster, who is equally worried that she’s still not ready for his type of relationship, immediately assumes she’s done with him and has her escorted out of the building. The woman who arrives only moments later asking for Ian (!) confirms Cela’s belief that it’s really all over this time. When Cela finds out the next day that there’s no job available for her at the local clinic after all, she decides that changing her life wasn’t meant to be and prepares to return to the bosom of her loving family with all her future already planned out for her.

For me this was the most frustrating part of the story, not just because they keep making the same mistakes over and over again, but because they actually seem to learn why they are wrong, and then still do the same damn thing again. I really wanted to smack Foster more than Cela this time, as he went right to “oh you don’t love me, so you should leave and I’ll call my reliable sex buddy for comfort” with almost lightning speed. I would have liked to see her stick around and fight for him, but she’s so used to giving in to what her family wants that when it seems like her only option, it makes sense that she would take it. I don’t know how Roni Loren is going to get them back together yet again in a way that doesn’t seem completely insane, but I’m not ready to give up on Foster and Cela just yet.

*sigh* I'm just gonna say it. Cela and Foster worked my last nerve in this installment. They both need to be in a time out. Cela with her trust issues and Foster with his over-protectiveness. I'm more angry with Cela than Foster, to be honest. I kept thinking in regards to Cela that she needs to grow the f*ck up! Maybe entering into a D/s relationship isn't the best thing to do when you can't even stand up to your dad about not wanting to move back home and work with him.

Cela needs to decide what she wants. Does she want to be a sub? Does she trust Foster enough to hand over total control? Is she just rebelling? She is so annoying and wishy-washy and she is straight up hurting Foster's feelings. I don't think she's made for the lifestyle that Foster wants and it's gonna take a miracle or some big realization on her part for me to believe that she can handle Foster's lifestyle. Right now, I ain't buying it. She likes the sex and is turned on by the idea but when it comes down to the heart of it, she isn't truly into it.

Foster's issues with his missing sister is pushing Cela away. His grand gesture towards the end freaked Cela out and I don't blame her. I wouldn't want to have a tracker on me no matter what the intent behind it is.

Not Until You Surrender wasn't my fave only because I was annoyed during most of it. Here's hoping Cela and Foster get their act together. There's only two installments left. Cela needs to grow up and Foster needs to work out his issues regarding his sister.

I picked up the first 2 novellas in this series as a freebie on Amazon, well I am an Amazon Kindle Freebie Whore. As soon as I started reading the first one I was absolutely hooked and immediately bought the remainder of the series. Because I read all 8 consecutively my review is for all 8.

OMG this series is amazing. It is absolute perfection. It is hot, hot, hot. The characters and their dynamics are so well developed. Everything about this book is beautifully interwoven. The story grabs you from the very first page and you don't want to put it down. I don't have the words to describe how awesome this series is, and am just in awe at this author.

I would recommend reading this series how I did, because you're going to be left with cliffhangers otherwise.

I wish I had realised this was 3.5 in the Loving on the Edge series when I started, but that's my own fault.

Oh gosh, left wanting more and totally hit my Nook Tablet with my fist when I got to the end. I wanted to know what happened next!.
I think Cela should have accepted the damn thing and wore, the least she could do it for was to give him a peace of mind, and I was thrown off when Foster said the name 'Bret' and it ended up being a 'she', I don't know about anyone else but my thoughts wondered to him with another man, and I thought that things where gonaa spice up with a new twist in the mix, but I guess it was just wistful thinking.... And just a huge down pour that it turned out to be a, as Cela so eloquently put it, " blond amazons who wore fuck-me boots."

These short stories are fun but they are a tease and a rip off price wise. This would have been much better as one book released at one time with one price. It's smart marketing but annoying. I won't buy into these types again -not up front when it's all so expensive. There are too many other choices.

Cela gets her wish where Foster opens up to her and gives her a glimpse of BDSM. As this lifestyle is all new to her, she is naive and a little skittish about it all. Yet Foster does a good job of easing her into it.

Much better than Part 5. The story is proving that communication is the key to a relationship. Both people are ruled by what has happened in their past, and they refuse to let it all out. Pain, no matter how it was inflicted, is a driving force in us all...Especially mental pain.
