This is a good book if you're looking to do something very specific. I like the idea, for example, of holding networking parties and keeping a networking database. However, it is aimed at a particular audience. It's not very helpful if you're trying to get a job, or if you're not in a business or service field. The books is clearly geared at helping you promote your skills and services if you already are in a career, or to get a promotion, for example. It would also be helpful for getting new clients if you're in business. It isn't very helpful if you're finishing up your education and looking for a job.
It had some good tips, but as another commenter said, definitely geared towards business users. The first few and last chapters had information for job hunters, those in need of medical expertise and so on. Nevertheless I did take notes during the first half of the book.
The best advice from the book is something everyone should be doing: keep a database of contacts, follow up and think of networking as building friendships
