Life offers up many paths. Some paths lead to happiness and success, while others may lead to poverty or even homelessness. Being homeless does not mean life is over, it simply means it is more of a struggle. This story follows the lives of Jake and Mary Ann as they, and a group of friends, cope with the daily struggle of living on the streets, the bureaucracy of a dysfunctional welfare system, and the ensuing adventure which leads them away from the clutches of despair.
I am the "Randy Harris" who wrote this book. The "Randy Harris" that Goodreads lists is a different Randy Harris. I've sent Goodreads messages. but they haven't done anything about it.
This book my friends is a nice book. I gave it five stars because I really enjoyed it and the writing was solid. Could easily be made into an uplifting Hallmark TV show or series. I read it quickly and really became connected to the characters. In a way this book is almost like no book I have picked up in a long time. It actually stays positive and has a pretty great message that emanates throughout reading. BE A GOOD PERSON. I don't want to spoil this book but that pretty much sums up all the characters in this book! Anyway, I am lucky enough to live in a small town called Green Cove Springs and it amazingly has some really great local authors in it and surrounding cities. Thanks Randy for this great read and look forward to your other works!
