They say all it takes is one wrong move and you lose the game. One false step and you’re trapped. One slip-up in your choice of words and you ruin a friendship forever. That is what they say. They say I lost.

I do not believe them.

At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn’t getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn’t talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn’t want anything to do with her. She believes the turning point was a choice she made at graduation. When she wakes up the next day, she has been transported back three months to that moment, the one where everything started to fall apart.

Adrienne realizes she has been given a second chance—and this time she doesn’t want to mess anything up. Reliving the entire summer, though, turns out to be a lot harder than she thought. As the same days and weeks go by, she starts to see how simple decisions can make a huge impact on the world around her. Despite knowing some of what lies ahead, there are some things she didn’t anticipate. She thought she knew what mistake led her to where she ended up the first time. She was wrong.

And by the time summer is over, she discovers what was really at stake.

This book was given to me for free by the author for an honest review.

A story about second chances… what ifs and if only.

Truthfully speaking, I hesitated asking for this book because I am not sure what to expect of this fantasy-romance young adult genre. I feel like this book was written in a movie-like script or imagination. I have read similar plots about rewinding your life to relive it but this one hits me like boulder.

Plot in book:
At the end of the summer after graduation, Adrienne wonders what happened to cause her life to be in ruins. She isn't getting along with her mom, her stepsister isn't talking to her, and, to top it off, the boy she’s been in love with doesn't want anything to do with her.

At first, I was intrigued about what went wrong between Chevy and Adrienne. What happened to them that it took something to relive her past? But then there’s more to it than just their love story.

“When you fall in love, the rest of the goings in the world appear in peripheral. Nothing shakes or disturbs the train of thought. Your smile isn’t thrown on to hide how you really feel. It is how you feel. Happy. Content. As if something has finally gone right in your life and all the suffering up until then had a reason. The reason was him…”

Chevy and Adrienne’s relationship is just friendship. A one-sided love on Adrienne’s part. Throughout the book, I realized that Adrienne’s feelings for Chevy at the beginning was just an infatuation. A physical attraction. But as the two of them experienced pain and loss, they were able to cultivate their relationship and trust into something more than friends. I guess, it really is important to put a foundation in a relationship and not just the shallow attraction that exists in your belly and the lower part of your body.

“You need to determine what is you want out of life.”

Additionally, a piece of me was like Adrienne’s dilemma about her career choice and it made me feel like I was not alone. Just like her I was forced into taking up a course I am not passionate about. Coincidentally, it is also nursing. It was laid to me in a form of a plan since I started high school but unlike her, I didn’t pursue what I like instead I came to love my job.

Moreover, Adrienne’s relationship with her family and best friend, Lyndsay was realistic. Everyone has their own quirks and attitude. You’ll definitely see that there is a same person out there in real world like Adrienne’s mom or you also experienced Kaitlyn’s fear of change and never understanding that there are people who change because they were influenced by other people.

Lastly, the story definitely made me think about things, about life and about death…

This book also made me think this quote:
It might be nice to have somebody, but it's better to be alone than be with the wrong person.

Cheers to you!

What if one of the most emotionally devastating moments of your life could be re-lived? Could you change the outcome? Would it change your history, your relationships, the people around you? Adrienne would give anything to undo the one moment in time she thinks could change the disaster her life has become. Graduation Day was supposed to be the day she bared her heart to one of her best friends, and in her mind he would admit he was madly in love with her, too, but it didn’t work out that way. Summer is over now, and the past can’t be undone, or can it? If fate gives Adrienne a do-over, can she repair her past, as well as the pasts of those around her? Sounds simple, because Adrienne thinks she can alter events and re-create history, but can she? Will she correct some mistakes only to make new ones? Is this the “butterfly effect” times two?

If Only We by Jessica Sankiewicz is a breath of fresh air in the young adult fantasy genre that will cause you to remember those times you wish you could have a do-over. Her writing is smooth, the plot is a great one and the world Ms. Sankiewicz draws for us is very real, very well-done! Adrienne is filled with that youthful conviction that she can save her world from disaster, all by herself with both selfish and then completely unselfish acts on her part. She is sweetly likable and easily related to with her naïve but heartfelt plans while each character lends an air of reality to this tale and their roles support our main character perfectly.

If Only We is a coming of age story that teaches what is truly important in life may not be what we originally thought! I look forward to more from Jessica Sankiewicz!

I received an ARC edition from Indie author Jessica Sankiewicz as part of her If Only We Virtual Tour and Giveaway stopping at Tome Tender on October 29, 2013! I honestly think the appeal for this quick and well-paced read will go far beyond YA readers!

If Only We is my debut novel. It started off as a little scene idea, then became my NaNoWriMo project in November 2011. It took me TWO YEARS to finish, but I have to say, I am very happy with what it became. I love my story and every single character, through and through. I laughed and cried during the whole process. It was just an amazing experience. My hope is that everyone who reads it walks away with something, a new perspective, anything. Thank you everyone who has been part of this journey! I couldn't have done it without you. ^_^

This review was originally posted on my blog, Ramblings of a Daydreamer. You can find it, and many more reviews at the blog.

I should probably put in a little disclaimer here: Jessica Sankiewicz is one of my best friends. We met through book blogging a little over two years ago, and our friendship has gone far beyond just our mutual love of bookish things. Even though we’ve never actually met in person, I know I can count on her for anything. I’d heard her talk a lot about her writing project If Only We, and I was eager to read it. I feel so honoured that I got to be part of this book in little ways - I designed the cover, beta reader for Jess (she's beta read my last three books), and formatted the ebook.

So while people might think that because she’s one of my best friends I’d go easy on her writing, it was quite the opposite. If anything, I was tougher on her because I want her to succeed. I wanted her to avoid a few of the stumbling blocks I had with my first novel, when I didn’t really have anyone to hold my hand and guide me or give me advice. I was brutally honest, knowing she would appreciate it and take my criticism for what it was - constructive, and from a place of love.

Now, with that out of the way, I can finally talk about the actual story!

As someone who loves anything to do with time travel, the concept of If Only We appealed to me instantly. It’s not your typical time travel story - Adrienne doesn’t go back and forth in time, but she does go back, and she gets to relive the summer where everything in her life got messed up. She gets the ultimate second chance, and she’s determined not to mess it up.

Adrienne was a great character - strong and determined, creative and kind. She wasn’t perfect - she made mistakes, she was insecure at times, she told lies to protect herself - but it made her more realistic. She learned a lot of hard life lessons that summer. The theme of second chances played a big part in every aspect of the book, from Adrienne’s career choice to her relationship with her family to her relationship with the boy who broke her heart. She realized life isn’t always black and white, and she also realized that when life gives you a second chance, you don’t question it, you grab it with both hands and you make the best of it.

I really liked that this story dealt with tough subjects like alcoholism. A lot of authors shy away from things like that, but Jessica tackled it in a way that was true to life. There was a nice balance of the big things - family issues, a mother with unrealistic expectations, uncertainty about the future, a friend’s father’s alcoholism, unrequited love - and quiet, small moments of everyday life, which I appreciated. Those little moments are part of what I love most about contemporary books, because they give you a chance to relate to and connect with the main character.

A sweet and uplifting story about second chances and love in many of its forms, If Only We is a great contemporary story that I think will appeal to people of all ages. It’s one of those books that could be considered either young adult or new adult - Adrienne has just finished high school and is on the cusp of adulthood, learning big life lessons.

My Review: A wonderful Debut novel! Full of well developed characters and a very thought out storyline. It is a real page turner, once you start reading it is hard to put down. I loved watching Adrienne develop and grow through out the book, how she slowed down and starting thinking about how her actions and words would affect those around her. Jessica did a great job of not letting the romance overshadow the other important elements of the story, at the end you feel very fulfilled even though not everything turns out the way you expect. My favorite quote from the book: "He chuckles. “Where did you go just now?”

I shake my head. “Just somewhere in my head.”

“Where in your head?”

“The part that is extremely grateful to have you in my life.” "

---I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.---

There is some books you enjoy reading, but you forget them as soon as they are finished... If only we isn't this kind of book. I've finished it almost one week ago and needed to think about it before writing my review.

I've absolutly loved this book without reservation. This is not a simple romance. This is not a young adult book either. It's a wonderful reflexion on second chances, on working to make things better, and never giving up. The main characters are really well defined, Adrienne is far from perfect but perfectly human.

You fall into this book as if you were part of the family. The magic works, you feel sometimes overwhelmed, needing to put down the book for some time to digest it. Real magic operates here. Thank you for the ride, it was one of my best one in 2013 !

----------------------------------------------------------

"It's like exposing film to the light. All of the pictures are ruined instantly. Drained of all color, just like my face in that moment. I had just given him my heart. Bared my heart open. Wide open. Let him in. Allowed him to stomp down, shatter, crush and tear to pieces the last of the love I had to spare in me."

It's never easy to admit to your best friend that you have more than friendly feelings for them. That's exactly what Adrienne does the night of her high school graduation. She tells Chevy she wants to date him and he crushes her hopes by telling her he doesn't feel that way about her. Devastated, she decides to leave town for the summer. When she comes back, Chevy's dad has passed away and their friendship has been damaged beyond repair – not because of her confession, but because she wasn't there for him when he really needed her. She wishes there was something she could do to salvage their friendship and her wish is granted. She's given a second chance to go back and make things right.
"Not everything in life is going to be perfect. Until we can accept that, we will never truly learn how to live. We can pull through the bad times and come out renewed, ready for the next challenge. Life is what we make of it. You just need to be there."

Adrienne's sent back in time to the morning of her high school graduation. She has a lot of decisions to make about how to handle everything in her life: her friendships, familial relationships, everything. As she's reliving these times, she realizes that not everything can be fixed. Some things are meant to happen and regardless of what you do, you can't stop them. She learns valuable lessons about life and love, friendship and herself along the way.

I really enjoyed If Only We. The concept was intriguing. It reminded me a bit of the movie Thirteen Going On 30. Adrienne was a very likable, relatable heroine. After all, who among us hasn't made a mistake and wished they could go back and undo the damage they did? She was determined to fix more than just her friendship with Chevy. She wanted to fix her relationship with her sister and her mom. She wanted to keep Chevy's dad from making the mistakes that ultimately led to his death. She wasn't shallow. She was selfless and honestly trying to fix everything that went so wrong the first time around. I liked the friendship between Adrienne and Chevy. They were sweet together. This book just left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling – something I definitely like in my young adult reads.

If Only We is a beautiful story. It really is a heartwarming and feel good read. Adrienne gets a summer do-over. We don't know how exactly, but she travels back in time and gets to re do the last 3 months of her life. And there are plenty of things that she would like to change. If Only We is the story of her second chance to get it all right. I loved the overall story of If Only We. I think this is a great debut book for Jessica Sankiewicz.

The book starts at the end of Adrienne's summer and she is not too happy. She is still broken up about putting it all on the line with her friend/crush Chevy when she worked up the courage to tell him that she liked him. And he kind of just brushed her off with the lets be friends line, without really giving her a reason why. It kind of made him seem like a jerk. I was worried that I wouldn't like him, but he really grew on me in her do-over summer. I was pretty skeptical of him at first, but he completely won me over. And he eventually explains himself, which made up for everything. I liked Adrienne. She wasn't always the most mature, but then again she is only 18. But I really liked the way she went after things. She didn't freak out about this second chance summer, she faced it head on. She figured out the things that she wanted to accomplish and change and she set out to do them. I like a go-getter attitude. I felt bad that she was so nervous about telling her mom about nursing. I liked that when she decided it wasn't something she was passionate about, that she changed directions and went for something she liked. And I loved what she chose because it really seemed to suit her. But I didn't really get why she put off college. The first two years are mainly just generic classes that can be used for any degree or major, so I didn't know why she didn't sign up for some regular classes and then try a few different things to see what she liked. But that was really my only criticism with her. Other than that, I really liked how she faced her mistakes and how genuine of a person she seemed to be.

The secondary characters in If Only We were great as well. We really got to know Chevy and even her step sister, Kaitlin. I thought it was really cute how the two of them bonded. This is the story of just normal family and friends. The things Adrienne goes through are things you can immediately relate to. She is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. And she is trying to get over rejection, and not disappointing her parents. If Only We is just so relate able. There are touching, tender moments, and sad moments and pretty much everything in between. And the ending will just make you smile. I loved the way jessica tied everything up. If Only We is a really good standalone novel. I enjoyed it.

I don't often venture into the realm of contemporary novels but when I do the experience usually makes me wonder why I don't read them more often. If Only We was no exception to this. It is a story about second chances, taking risks and at the same time staying true to yourself.
Adrienne was a likeable narrator whose reactions were never over the top or too dramatic as seems to be the norm in NA novels. Also missing is the trauma and angst that this new genre has been built on and I for one am glad as I find all the drama difficult to relate to. I love the Adrienne is a normal girl with normal problems. She doesn't see eye to eye with her mother, she's finding it difficult to connect with her younger step-sister and she's declared her love to her best friend Chevy only to have him reject her. These are all things most readers can identify with.
Unlike us though, Adrienne gets a second chance to do the summer over via the help of a little time travel. This time around Adrienne is determined to set things right, though she soon discovers that there are reasons why everyone acts the way they do and most of the time its got nothing to do with her. Instead of running away from her problems this time Adrienne makes herself face them no matter how painful or awkward. She also makes mistakes despite trying hard to be better and I thought this added a sense of realism to the plot.
I really liked that Adrienne was proactive in getting her life together and although there was romance it wasn't the center of the story. Adrienne learns that she has to be happy with herself before she can make someone else happy and that's a point so many other books miss. Towards the end Adrienne grows as a person and is able to take drawbacks in her stride instead of feeling sorry for herself and just giving up like she would have previously.
There were a few things that I felt could have been done better, like an explanation for the time travel and a bit more tension in the romantic relationship. I thought Chevy was sweet but not super swoon worthy though to be fair I prefer boys of the supernatural variety! Overall I really enjoyed If Only We and look forward to future works by the author.

IF ONLY WE by JESSICA SANKIEWIZ

This is a very nice debut novel. More on the YA genre but it was really good. I didn’t not expect that this has a second chance theme to it, and I dig those kind of stories so I totally enjoyed this one.

I like that Jessica wrote this book with such simplicity and genuineness to it. It was a second chance kind of story but it’s not just about romance but more about the main characters discovery to what she really wants to do with her life. At first, it will give you that the story is a bit slow but as the story progresses, you get where the story is going and will love it til the end.

Adrienne was given a second chance in this book. Particularly the summer she went away to his father’s place. It was not explained how she got to the point of having a second chance so it was a bit confusing at first but was okay. One morning she woke up and she was at the same summer when everything changed. She thought is was just about her feelings for his friend named Chevy but she realized that it was so much more. With that second chance, she discovered herself and what’s she capable of. She became the woman she wants to be and build a strong relationship with the people around her especially with Chevy. It was a great summer indeed and one that she is very thankful for.

It was well written for a debut and I like the fact that Jessica was able to give and show the readers of this book the details that matters in the second chance summer that was given to the main character. She showed that simple things even small ones matters especially with the relationship you are having with the ones you love and also with oneself. She wrote it beautifully and ended the book well. She delivered and she delivered good.

:)

I requested this eBook ARC from the author because it sounded really interesting. She's not paying me for this review or anything like that. ;) Okay, let me just say this first-I really enjoyed the story overall. I think it was an excellent first book and I'm totally jealous because I've already given up on NaNoWriMo lol.

Adrienne is at odds with her family and closest friends and she's pretty sure it all goes back to her actions on the day of her high school graduation. When she gets a chance to go back and fix her mistakes, will she be able to or will she just be doomed to repeat herself over and over? I love a good time-traveling book and this was definitely a good one. Adrienne is a likable character and I connected with her story. It's hard trying to make people happy when it conflicts with what would make *you* happy. This book has its serious moments and it made me tear up but it also had some fun, light-hearted passages.

There were some great secondary characters too. Stepsister Kaitlin was sweet but a little underdeveloped to me. I couldn't figure out her age until about halfway thru the book and I wanted her to have a little more personality. I would have loved to hear more of her story. Lindsay, Adrienne's BFF and cousin, was the perfect amount of outspoken sassiness and caring individual. And then there's Chevy, the boy. Excuse me..THE Boy. :) I liked Chevy, he was totally swoon worthy. He was equal parts serious brooding boy and fun-loving karaoke dude.

If Only We teaches us a lesson to when given a second chance we must to our best to choose a better outcome/ right path. It also teaches us that pride will be our downfall (although a lot of stories have this concept).

After Adrienne confessed to her best friend Chevy, she runaway after she thought he "rejected" her. After near the end of summer, she finally returned home and realized that she damaged her relationship with her family and Chevy. Realizing her mistake, she dreamed of having a second chance and the next day she finds out that she is reliving the beginning of her graduation where it all started. As she relives her second chance with Chevy and her family, she is also on a journey about discovering what she really wants in her life.

I must confessed that I didn't really liked Adrienne in the beginning especially when she realized that the decision she made was her biggest mistake. But when she was given a second chance to relive the beginning of her graduation where it all started, she became mature except probably for some situations. Although she did her best to make things right she realized that all can't be changed even if the situations became different. In the end she realized that we create our own fate.

It's both realistic and unbelievable in ways but it's fiction. It can be anything.

Although, when I finished reading it, I wanted to read more.

*** 4.5 Stars Actually! Such a fun book ***

This cute book sucked me in right from the beginning. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end :).

Adrienne gets a second chance to live her summer before college over. The first time didn't go so well, and one day she wakes up in her bed at her mothers house living graduation night all over again.

She realizes that she has a chance to make different choices and hope that it changes everything that went wrong for the better. There are so many up and downs for poor Adrienne. She is a sweet girl, who is in love with one of her best friends, and wants to make sure she doesn't ruin her friendship with Chevy again. Her best friend and cousin is willing to help any way she can.

While Adrienne decides she doesn't want to take the path her mom has set before her, but that leads to a lie. Meanwhile Adrienne is trying to decide what she really wants to do with her life, while making her mother think she is actually going to her internship every day.

Although I personally, would never wish to relive any day of high school again ever. I enjoyed reading Adrienne's story. I loved watching her grow into the woman she becomes. I love Chevy. He is a swoon worthy boy to follow :). He is kind and scared. hehe. He and Adrienne are. It's fun to see how things unfold between them.

This was a sweet story of starting over, making hard choices, mending fences, uplifting relationships that are struggling, and being there for the people you love. I really enjoyed this book.

**I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

I really loved the story, it's great idea playing with what if's...

Adrienne had the chance to 'go back' in time because he felt her life just sucks, the waves crashed over her head... and she felt lost.

Lost the connection with her mother and her sister, and more importantly her secret loved one Chevy. So she has the chance to start over...

It is a well written story, but sometimes takes in a slow motion, and I lost connection, I waited to something happen, that's why I give only four stars. But overall it was worth reading, and the last 25% of the book was heart warming. Really nice. I love happy ending, and it has a happy ending, with a good conclusion.

I also played with the thought of what if's while I was reading, and it was a twist or an unexpected plot for me at the end, where Adrienne realizes in which point the things went wrong, and what she could change...

Nothing is determined by fate. We create our own fate.

Adrienne is very nature considering her age, maybe that's why I liked her, and I really think that every moment is a gift and you never know when it can change the rest of your life.

I absolutely love being taken my surprise by how much I love a book and author's writing style and let's face it, that doesn't always happen with indie writers. In fact, more often than not buying one and reading it is a huge gamble. Nine out of ten times you aren't going to love it let alone like it. So when I do find one that I truly enjoyed and would definitely buy something from the author again in the future, well I have to let you know about it.

This is one such story. It was just good. Well written, sweet, great messages, great characters and just a fun, nice in between read perfect to cleanse the palate after a hard read. In short, it was exactly the story I needed, when I needed it.

I truly liked everything about it and I really look forward to reading more from this author. I love stories that aren't only endearing, but well edited and well written.

Nicely done Ms. Sankiewicz, I look forward to picking up another one of your books and getting lost in the story.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book! This is a feel good story about second chances, an answer to the age old question of what if? Everyone has asked themselves this at one point in their life. A fresh look at the past to evolve into the person you were meant to be in the future.

I liked that Adrienne wasn't perfect, that she was undecided. Even though she was directionally impaired when it came to some life choices, she still strived to make a difference in the lives of those around her. I liked that she came into her own as the story progressed. I loved that when all was said and done, ALL the characters had moved forward in a better direction.

I am impressed with Jessica's take on this idea. I thought this was very well written and enjoyed her writing style. Nicely done Jessica! One of my Faves for the year, I look forward to reading more from you in the future.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book! In fact it think it ended all too soon! I really connected with Adrienne, she was given the opportunity to re-do her summer and make it better!

Adrienne struggles like anyone her age with "what do I want to do with my life?" and "should I tell him how I really feel?". When she gets to relive her summer, she automatically starts to change the way she did things from the first time around. Adrienne decides to face her troubles instead of just run from them and builds stronger relationships because of it.

I really loved how Adrienne and Chevy's relationship evolved, I was constantly cheering them on.

If you are looking for a story that will have you on the edge of your seat for the whole time then this is defiantly the book for you. I found that it left me questioning the way I do things... and how I could change to make my relationships with family and friends better!

I went into this one not actually having read the description. I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events in it. I liked the idea of Adrienne getting a second chance. I know there's plenty of times in my life I could have used a do over. I liked that she immediately decided to try things differently. I probably would have just made the same stupid mistakes again. I liked the writing and editing. For a self published book, it was well done. I did think some of the phrasing was a little off and it drew me out of the story but not for long. I also thought there were some things that didn't feel believable but that's just me. I raise my eyebrows at just about everything. All in all, a good story with a good message.

This book was a very good read! I couldn’t put it down. I literally started reading one chapter before bed one night, and then finished it in two hours the next morning! The characters, Adrienne and Chevy just really kept me routing for them. This book had kind of a “Butterfly Effect” mood to it, where Adrienne was trying to rewrite history, but realized that some things were inevitable and had to happen, even if the circumstances were different. I related a lot to the situation between her and her parents, and not wanting to let them down with her career choices. I would absolutely recommend this book, and I feel that Ms. Sankiewicz did very well with this story, and I am excited to read more of her work.

Ahhh! This book is adorable and great! It felt real, and it has such a GOOD message too! I loved the whole idea about it from the very beginning, and it was very well thought out. It's a sweet, fun, and quick read. I enjoyed reading the whole thing and absolutely LOVED the end! <3 I'm glad I didn't read what this book was about before I read it (which I almost always say) so I don't want to say too much else in case you're like me and don't read the synopsis before you read books. Just take this one for a spin because you'll love it. Yay!!

I received this book for an honest review. I really liked it but I was expecting a little more. It was fantasy with reality mixed in. I have been in this funk where I am just eating books up and the ones are usually paranormal but this was a good change. It made me wonder if you mess up so badly in life if you really get a second chance. Adrienne gets a chance to make everything in her life better but thought she messed up again. The whole story is well written with the dates and the experiences she goes through. In the end she makes it all right and ends up with what she wanted all along.

I love a story that builds off of the "if" factor. In If Only We, the author shares a story where the MC gets her "if" moment - if only she could go back in time - and she does.

I found the characters to be likable - most were well developed. The story flowed at a nice pace and I enjoyed the author's writing style.
I liked the relationship development between Adrienne and Chevy - it felt real.

In many ways, this novel was like a breath of fresh air - we find two people who learn that love is based on friendship and trust.

How have I not reviewed IF ONLY WE before? I was a beta reader for Jess, so even though I read an early version, the heart of IF ONLY WE is a touching, inspiring story about second chances. About learning to stand up for what you want. About becoming a better friend and person. I loved Jessica's characters, and the sweet, slow-burn romance!

In a sentence: IF ONLY WE is a wonderful coming-of-age story that will melt your heart and make you think.

Hmm. This book managed to keep me entertained the whole way through. However, I was left with the impression while reading that nothing in the book was necessary very new. The characters, especially, felt pretty standard; like if you inserted Adrienne and Chevy into a different YA contemporary novel, they wouldn't feel out of place at all. They have the angst, the daddy issues (in Chevy's case), the family dynamics (in Adrienne's case), and a lot of the same problems that are pretty common in YA. If it weren't for the fact that I haven't really read much contemporary in the past few years, I believe this would have hampered my enjoyment a lot more.

Even though the plot has in some ways been done before, though, (there's a direct reference to Groundhog Day in the book) it works well here. Who hasn't wished they could go back and get a do-over of at least one thing? The plot doesn't rely too much on the supernatural element of what happened, which is good, becauuse it could easily have become a bit too out-there. Instead, it focuses more on the ramifications of the do-over, which is infinitely more interesting imo.

I will say, I actually loved the takeaways from the epilogue. I even highlighted a few sentences. Sometimes, having an overt "lesson" in these sorts of books could be construed as preachy, but I actually liked Adrienne spelling out what she had learned from her experience, because a) it was kind of timely to my life at this point lol and b) it really brought the entire story together.
