But before long, she’ll understand these wishes are more than a coincidence, and that they come at a steep price. Keyanna is more than just an average high school senior, her best friend is more than the innocent boy next door, and her sudden good fortune isn’t just by chance. When her estranged father suddenly re-enters her life, she’ll have to decide who to trust, and whether or not the man she loves has become the enemy.

This book kept me guessing from beginning to end. It’s filled with fun dialogue, and lots of laughs. I fell in love with the characters on the very first page, by the end of the second chapter I was getting sucked it, and once Key’s birthday party got into full swing I was hooked.

Keyana is not the typical innocent, naïve female lead, she’s got more guts than that. She makes some bad decisions, she’s swayed by outside influences, but in the end she learns from her mistakes and does the right thing. She felt like a very realistic teenager. There were a few times when I wanted to yell at Key to be more suspicious about someone or to pay more attention to things that were going on, but I could understand why she made the decisions she did – some partly because there were people influencing her with mind control.

Because of the nature of mind control in this book there are things we learn as a reader that Keyanna is forced to forget and that led to a few frustrating moments where Key wouldn’t realize something as soon as I liked, but as the story went on and I understood more about this skill it all came together.

Key quickly smartens up as the book goes on. Eventually she’s able to put her relationships and trivial things on hold and focus on what’s important. She starts to put the pieces together and look into all the things I at one point was frustrated with her for not seeing.

This book had lots of surprises, there were more than a few times when I found myself saying “I didn’t see that coming,” It was like every time I thought I knew who the good guys were and who the bad guys were something happened that made me question everything, and I really enjoyed that. This was one of those books that I just had to keep reading because I could never figure out what was coming next.

There is a little bit of a love triangle in this book, but it was really different than any love triangle I’d read before. It felt more realistic, instead of rooting for one "team" or the other there were moments where I just felt bad for everyone involved. You can see how a love triangle could really hurt people instead of just being a competition. Lock and Key were steamy hot, but there wasn’t a lot of substance to them. Lock was rather eager to get with Key, and for a long time Jen has you wondering how he really feels about her, and how she really feels about him. I loved Key and Dallas; they were just so cute that even when I was wondering if Dallas was one of the bad guys I wanted them to just kiss already. At times you feel really bad for these two guys Key’s interested in, but then you find out that everyone is keeping secrets from her – including the both of them.

Key’s best friend, Nora was a fun character as well. Nora is a little impulsive, a little selfish, but she’s also a bright, fun character. She had this bubbly, bigger than life personality, and even though she got Key into some trouble she was wonderful to read about. Key’s mind control is a really dangerous skill, and you see how in the beginning Key has to be careful what she wishes for. Nora pushes her to have this house party, and things gets completely out of control, but every time something new went wrong I was excited to see what would happen next.

The ending was epic. There were clues along the way that let me know something was up, but I did not expect what happened to happen. It was a great twist. Jen wraps up this story perfectly, all the loose ends get tied up and then at the very end – boom, she sets it up for a whole new story to begin. I really hope she continues this series.

I highly recommend this one!

I was so excited to receive an ARC of Mind Static because I love all things Jen Naumann! Once again, she does not disappoint. I was hooked from the first few pages. This is a fun, fast paced novel that you won't want to put down.

Naumann taps right into the teen POV with the right amount of humor, pop culture, love and drama. Add an element of newfound supernatural power and the MC, Keyanna, is a character you will care about and will root for. Her journey is packed with self discovery and tough choices. She has to reevaluate her entire world as she knows it. The people she loves and holds close are all affected by her actions.
Mix in a couple of attractive boys with ulterior motives and Keyanna must work hard to focus on who she can trust.

Mind Static is a great YA read full of twists and turns and characters who aren't all they may appear to be. The ending leaves open the possibility for continuing this journey with "Key". I look forward to this! No pressure, Jenn Naumann!

Mind Static will be a great addition to your book collection! Super twisty and suspenseful with a sweet teen romance, Mind Static delivers!

Jen does a wonderful job writing as a teenager would speak or think, making it realistic and pulling you in to relate to her characters. I literally felt the whole gamut of Keyanna, Lock and Dallas's emotions. I love a book where I feel like I am on the sidelines watching it all play out.

I devoured it! I was hooked by chapter one and could not put it down...and when I was forced to put it down, I was impatient to get back to it.

Jen did a superb job with Mind Static, making it one of my favorites in this genre. I will definitely be re-reading this book.

I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this book. This book has it all: Characters you will love, humor and suspense. Oh and of course hot guys, Jen always does a great job pulling the rug from under you and making you say wow I didn't see that coming. The dialogue was perfect and making each character feel authentic. Mind Static is a wild ride that begins with a crazy party, which I'm sure I was a guest at. I loved this book and I'm sure you will too. By the way watch the trailer it's as much fun as the book.

Mind Static once again affirms why Jen Naumann is one of our favorite authors. This book is ride that will twist and turn you upside down in a amazing way. Jen does a great job with the development of all her characters. They are 100% authentic teenagers. Key(Keyanna) is witty, funny, and a strong female character that at times could make the wrong choices, but as the story develops you learn why. We loved the love triangle in this book. Not only because we loved both Lock and Dallas, but also because Jen showed how hard and painful it is to be in a love triangle. You don't want any one of these characters to get hurt. This book will have you guessing the whole time and pretty much proving that your guesses were completely wrong. There were so many times we found ourselves gasping and thinking I did not think that was going to happen. We want to say so much more, but we don't want to give anything away. Part of the fun of reading this book is all the jaw dropping moments that occur. Mind Static really is like the best, most thrilling roller coaster ride at the amusement park that starts off with the mother of all parties. Trust us when we say this book is a must read. We hope there's a sequel, because we need more.

This has got to be the most bizarre book I've ever read. It starts, well, truly starts, the day Keyanna Sanders turns eighteen and everything she wishes comes true. In the beginning, it's mildly amusing and seems coincidental, but soon, it's clear that something has changed. What follows is this completely crazy sequence of events that feels as rapid as the blink of an eye. Seriously, every time I'd get used to something, there would be a twist and bam- completely different turn of events!

I loved how unpredictable and fun the characters were: whether it was Lock-the token hot British guy who kept me guessing-, Dallas, Keyanna's mother, her father, her best friend Nora or Dominic, I either loved to hate them or flat out liked them. There's no one I could take completely seriously, as everything we know about them is consistently put to test, but they were so exciting and fun. I was constantly guessing their motives and true intentions!

This is the kind of book that can be taken only at face value, but is nevertheless so entertaining, I didn't need to dig deeper.

Mind Static was a wonderful read. I got the opportunity to read an Arc. I was exstatic to because I am such a fan of Jen! I was on constant guard wondering what would happen next! Every turn of the page kept me guessing. Jen Naumann’s writing flowed and the dialogue had humor. I felt like was really reading from the POV of a teen.
Mind Static had a twisty plot and suspense that made me jittery. I mean I couldn’t keep still! The love and drama drove me insane. This book gave a unique sense to supernatural power. Keyanna is our main character and she has tough choices ahead of her. Throw in some hunky guys to make it even worst! Not sure who to trust. I didn’t even know who to trust!!! Which hunk, Lock or Dallas, should she go with.
Jen is an awesome author and I follow all her books. This may be one of my favorites from her yet! Though I am intensely waiting on a sequel to her zombie book.

I received an ARC of this deft YA book, and I'm so glad. What a fun read! I was charmed. It was a new experience for me and one I liked very much. Redhaired Key is beginning to think there is a birthday fairy. It's her 18th birthday, and every time Key wishes for something, it happens, including a meet-up with the gorgeous new guy, who looks like Leonardo and whose name is Lock. The author seems to know exactly what she's doing and whom she's writing for. The characterization and the pace are spot on, with lively dialogue that carries just the right pitch for YA realism paired with the paranormal. I heartily recommend it.

I really enjoyed this book - the characters were described wonderfully, and you truly were constantly picking one over the other cheering them on! It kept you guessing what was going to happen next, which is of course something I love in a book and keeps you turning those pages! I will certainly look for other books by this author and recommend this book if you like anything paranormal related.

A quick read, I read this book in 3 sits!
That said: I was drawn in quickly and was captivated enough to keep turning pages. The story has enough twists to keep you involved, but not too many as to making you go back and re-read. I really enjoyed all the characters in this book and each personality was clearly described and left you a vivid picture of each. Jen Naumann is clearly becoming better and better with each book! Keep on writing Jen!!!
