If a Man Answers

SORRY, WRONG NUMBERWhen she made that late-night call, Molly Duncan "thought" she was phoning her handsome neighbor with a simple noise complaint. Then the sound of gunfire plunged her into a world filled with danger, intrigue and, thanks to her neighbor turned twenty-four-hour-a-day bodyguard...romance!

For Sam Henderson, being awakened by the police to make sure he hadn't been shot was "not" his idea of a relaxing evening. And when he realized that the gorgeous woman next door was in real danger, he had no choice but to devote his days--and his nights--to her. It looked as if sleep would be elusive--but maybe, with Molly in his arms, he could find "another" use for the hours between dusk and dawn....

This was a strictly average category which was a nice one-time read with nice characters but nothing that stood out. Heroine is a linguist who moved to Vegas six months ago after dumping a controlling fiancee. The hero an air force pilot has just moved next door and they haven't been getting along. Then one night fed up with his loud music the heroine dials him and instead connects to someone else and over-hears a murder. She calls the cop and has her first face-to-face with our attractive hero. The hero is on medical leave from the air-force after a crash left him with pounding head-aches. The hero offers to let her stay at her place till she gets her house security reinforced. These two share a chemistry they aren't afraid to explore. There is an actual murder she over-heard. They catch the bad guy and HEA. This was just fine. The romance moved a little too fast to be believable for my tastes.

I think i’m not too bad in english!

Ouffff!

After being kept up a couple nights by her new neighbor blaring country music, she calls him to complain, but instead hears a man being shot. She calls the police and they figure out she dialed wrong and find a known criminal dead. Molly and Sam had been at war over some bushes on the property line, the music and her driving but he comes through to help her when she needs it. She is a trained linguist and ends up recognizing the voice of the killer.

What I enjoyed:
* Molly is spunky without being annoying.
* Sam dealing with the injury he suffered as a test pilot.
* Molly's boss, Davinia.

What could have been better:
* Wrapped up a bit quickly.
* Would have liked to seen more of Sam's family - although they are the stars in the future books.

This was the first Merline Lovelace book I ever read and I became an immediate fan. She had me from the very first pages. I have read all in this series Men of the BarH as well as her Code Name Danger and recommend them all.
