Of all the writings of Mawlana Azad, his exegesis of Surah al-Fatihah (The Opening Chapter) in his Tarjuman al-Qur'an is a masterly introduction to the study of the Qur'an. Students of the Qur'an will find therein a store of Quranic knowledge such as is not found in current commentaries. This work is an analytical summary of it, reproduced in the very manner of Azad's exposition.
Maulana Sayyid Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin Ahmed bin Khairuddin Al-Hussaini Azad was an Indian scholar, Islamic theologian, independence activist, and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress during the Indian independence movement.
I like how he always compares every kind of religion without making islam as the superior one. Because for me that's not the point. The point is, do we really understand islam or are we just pretending that we do? Or we just select whichever rules suit our preferences? I'm far from a perfect muslim myself and so does everyone else. Keep learning is the only way.
