After reading some works by Jungian analysts I have become interested in Shadow Work and picked up this journal hoping to develop insight into my unconscious mind and shadow self. I was disappointed to find that it focused heavily on CBT, DBT and emotional regulation skills and stayed rather surface level. I am a therapist who is rather familiar with all of the above and was interested in more depth work.

If you're interested in recovering from trauma or learning to manage your emotions there is some good stuff in here. But if you're wanting something deeper this is disappointing.

For beginners

This is a great introduction to shadow work. I have been working on myself for a few years and skipped many of the exercises. I will likely come back to this book but it just didn't answer what I need right now
